Abstract

The reality of education 4.0 is undeniably true of contemporary higher education systems. This is demonstrated by technological developments and online-based developments. This phenomenon is a challenge of any kind, particularly for students to adapt to the creation of learning processes. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the students ' improvements in their communication exchange skills and establish interpersonal relationship skills through the use of conversation exchange websites. There were six females and four males of students that has been using conversation exchange from some countries taken as participants. This survey was carried out using the video call feature in the Application tool. The semi-structured interview was used to obtain information from students on the specific theme of fun and easy conversation exchange in foreign language communication as a part of the educational challenge 4.0. By using the structural analysis, ten students have fully agreed to the use of a conversation exchange website to improve foreign language communication skills. All males and females were 90% willing to use the conversation exchange website as a measure of the effects of the use of conversation exchange through semi-structured interviews with three questions. The results show that the students ' attitudes have been welcomed by the conversation exchange website to enhance their communication skills in foreign languages. Therefore, the use of conversation exchange should be widely introduced to increase the ability to communicate in a foreign language.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam regulasi diri dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui penggunaan kuesioner. Sebanyak 312 mahasiswa berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini dan mengisi kuesioner dalam periode waktu yang telah ditentukan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji Mann-Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi p-value < 0,05 dengan effect size Cohen's yang menunjukkan nilai 0,8, yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil ini mengindikasikan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan regulasi diri dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris berdasarkan jenis kelamin, di mana mahasiswa perempuan memiliki tingkat regulasi diri yang lebih tinggi daripada mahasiswa laki-laki.

Abstract

This study examined burnout differences by gender and socioeconomic status among EFL university students in Indonesia (n=231,53.3%) , Laos (n=85, 19.5%), and Angola (n=117, 27%). Data from 433 students (females, n= 268, 61.89%, males, n=165, 38.11%) were collected using a cross-sectional survey, with participants recruited via WhatsApp groups shared by English lecturers. Burnout levels were measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (Schaufeli et al., 2002). The Mann-Whitney U Test showed that females (78.0%, median = 23.0) reported significantly higher burnout than males (67.3%, median = 22.0) (U = 18448, p = 0.004). This indicated that female students experienced more burnout than male students during their EFL learning. Regarding SES, similar percentages of students experienced moderate level of burnout: 75.6% from middle-to-upper and 72.1% from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. The Mann-Whitney U Test revealed no significant difference between these groups (U = 23389, p = 0.993, median for both groups= 22.0), indicating that burnout is common across socioeconomic statuses. To reduce burnout in EFL students, universities should offer engaging programs, like interactive games and stress-relief activities, focusing on the gender group with higher burnout, while incorporating fun English practice and time management tips.

Abstract

Intensive salt production using tunnels by salt farmers in Pesanggrahan Village is not optimal and is inversely related to the low selling price of salt in the village. The purpose of this socialization effort is to introduce the use of filters in salt ponds to improve the quality of kerosok salt production in tunnels and to provide guidance on verifying the types of iodine-enriched salt and fortified salt produced from tunnel salt. This activity involved five partners: three salt farmer groups (Makmur, Al-Islah, and Melati), the PKK women's group, and the Pesanggrahan Village Youth Organization. The community service activities included socialization and counseling on producing iodized and fortified salt in Pesanggrahan Village. The Likert scale survey results conducted after the socialization showed that 87% of participants understood the importance of using filters in the tunnels, while 13% did not. Additionally, 90% of participants understood how to make food-grade salt, while 10% still lacked this understanding.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic acted as an unprecedented catalyst, forcing a global transition to online education and exposing deep-seated infrastructural and pedagogical vulnerabilities. This study investigates the lasting perceptions of this shift among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in Indonesia, focusing on the persistent challenge of the urban-rural digital divide. Employing a qualitative case study approach, this research explores the experiences of four junior high school English teachers in Pontianak Regency—two from urban and two from rural schools. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal a significant dichotomy in teacher perceptions shaped by geographical location. Urban teachers, while initially optimistic, developed negative perceptions due to pedagogical frustrations and declining student engagement. In contrast, rural teachers held overwhelmingly negative perceptions from the start, citing insurmountable barriers related to internet access, device availability, and lack of digital literacy. The study concludes that the emergency remote teaching experience has solidified teacher perceptions that a one-size-fits-all approach to educational technology is untenable in a diverse landscape like Indonesia, highlighting an urgent need for context-aware policies and equitable infrastructure development in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

Industri skincare Indonesia berkembang pesat dengan hadirnya brand lokal seperti Glad 2 Glow. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kualitas produk dan harga terhadap keputusan pembelian mahasiswa STIE Taman Siswa Jakarta. Temuan diharapkan memberi kontribusi akademis dan strategi bagi pengembangan produk lokal. Dalam studi ini menerapkan metode kuantitatif. Populasi yang digunakan pada studi ini yaitu pada Mahasiswa STIE Taman Siswa Jakarta dengan jumlah sampel 57 responden dan teknik penentuan sampel menerapkan purposive sampling. Teknik penghimpunan data yang digunakan pada studi ini yakni study pustaka serta angket (kuesioner). Perolehan dari studi ini menunjukan bahwasanya Kualitas Produk memberikan dampak yang signifikan pada Keputusan Pembelian serta uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel (7,988 > 2,004) serta perolehan koefisien determinasi sejumlah 0,537. Harga memberikan dampak yang signifikan pada Keputusan Pembelian serta pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung > ttabel (7,577> 2,004) serta perolehan koefisien determinasi sejumlah 0,511. Kualitas Produk serta Harga berdampak secara signifikan pada Keputusan Pembelian dengan pengujian hipotesis didapatkan Fhitung > Ftabel atau (37,279> 3,17) dan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,58.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the challenges encountered by novice EFL teachers in West Kalimantan when conducting speaking instruction through technology-mediated environments. Although digital tools have become increasingly integrated into classroom practices, many beginning teachers still struggle to use them effectively, particularly for interactive skills such as speaking. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through interviews with novice teachers from several senior high schools. The findings reveal three main challenges: limited digital pedagogical competence, difficulty sustaining student engagement in online speaking tasks, and inconsistent technological access among learners. Nevertheless, teachers employed several adaptive strategies, including simplifying digital tools, providing structured speaking models, using multimodal platforms such as voice notes and video tasks, and offering additional support outside scheduled class hours. These strategies helped sustain communication and support students’ speaking development. The study concludes that novice teachers require more extensive preparation in digital pedagogy and ongoing institutional assistance to manage technology-based speaking instruction effectively. Strengthening technology training in teacher education programs is recommended to enhance teachers’ confidence and competence in technology-supported language teaching.   ABSTRAK Studi ini meneliti tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru EFL pemula di Kalimantan Barat ketika melakukan pengajaran berbicara melalui lingkungan yang dimediasi teknologi. Meskipun alat digital semakin terintegrasi ke dalam praktik kelas, banyak guru pemula masih kesulitan menggunakannya secara efektif, khususnya untuk keterampilan interaktif seperti berbicara. Dengan menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan guru pemula dari beberapa sekolah menengah atas. Temuan menunjukkan tiga tantangan utama: kompetensi pedagogis digital yang terbatas, kesulitan mempertahankan keterlibatan siswa dalam tugas berbicara daring, dan akses teknologi yang tidak konsisten di antara para pembelajar. Meskipun demikian, guru menerapkan beberapa strategi adaptif, termasuk menyederhanakan alat digital, menyediakan model berbicara terstruktur, menggunakan platform multimodal seperti catatan suara dan tugas video, dan menawarkan dukungan tambahan di luar jam kelas yang dijadwalkan. Strategi-strategi ini membantu mempertahankan komunikasi dan mendukung perkembangan berbicara siswa. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa guru pemula membutuhkan persiapan yang lebih luas dalam pedagogi digital dan bantuan kelembagaan yang berkelanjutan untuk mengelola pengajaran berbicara berbasis teknologi secara efektif. Penguatan pelatihan teknologi dalam program pendidikan guru direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kompetensi guru dalam pengajaran bahasa yang didukung teknologi.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa workshop parenting berbasis nilai Pancasila untuk meningkatkan pemahaman orang tua mengenai pendidikan inklusif, pola asuh positif, dan identifikasi dini anak berkebutuhan khusus di SDN 07 Sungai Raya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan melibatkan 60 orang tua/wali murid yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest dan posttest, observasi, angket evaluasi, serta dokumentasi kegiatan. Instrumen mencakup pertanyaan mengenai konsep pendidikan inklusi, pola asuh, dan ciri-ciri kebutuhan khusus. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui perbandingan skor pretest–posttest serta analisis tematik terhadap hasil observasi dan angket peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman orang tua sebesar 31% berdasarkan perbandingan skor sebelum dan sesudah workshop, dengan peningkatan tertinggi pada aspek identifikasi kebutuhan khusus. Selain itu, tingkat kepuasan peserta mencapai 93,4%, menunjukkan bahwa materi dan metode penyampaian workshop relevan dan mudah dipahami. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa workshop parenting berbasis nilai Pancasila efektif dalam memperkuat literasi orang tua mengenai pendidikan inklusi dan pola asuh adaptif, serta mendorong peningkatan kolaborasi antara orang tua dan guru. Kegiatan PKM ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi upaya penguatan peran keluarga dalam mendukung pelaksanaan pendidikan inklusif di sekolah dasar.
