Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Wordwall Media as a game-based learning tool for teaching English vocabulary mastery to eighth-grade students at MTS Al Hadari An-Nawawi. Using a quantitative pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, the research involved 30 female students. The results indicate a significant improvement in vocabulary mastery, with an average pretest score of 56.43 and a posttest score of 74.67. Statistical analysis revealed a T-Count value (-11.345) that was greater than the T-Table value (1.699), indicating a statistically significant difference. The null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, demonstrating a significant difference following the intervention. In conclusion, the use of Wordwall Media as a game-based learning method produced positive results in English vocabulary mastery for students. This research supports the use of game technology as an innovative educational method that provides a more dynamic and interactive learning experience, motivating students to be more engaged in the learning process.

Abstract

Reading is taught to the eight grades students of junior high school. The aim of the research was to find out what is the most difficult aspect in reading comprehension faced by the eight grade students at MTs Hidayatul Ulum Karang Anyar.The design of this research is a descriptive research design. The population of the research was the ninth grade of MTs Hidayatul Ulum Karang Anyar from 1 classe, with the population were 13 students and the sample was from each class. So, the sample of the research was 13 students. The sample was selected by using simple random sampling technique. To get the data, the researcher gave questionnaire, interview and then analyzed the data by using descriptive statistic calculated by Ms. Excel program. After analyzing the data, the result showed that the most difficult aspect in reading comprehension was the fisth indicator. It is “Students get difficulties in determine main idea” with percentage 78%.

Abstract

Vocabulary is an essential element of language ability and serves as a foundation for pupils' speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities.This study aims to determine the effectivenes of using flash cards to teach students’ vocabulary mastery at SMP Darut Tauhid. The research design is independent sample t-test, while the research method is quantitative. The participants in this study all student`classVII totaling 60 people, 30 male students and 30 female students. the data in this study were collected using instruments pre-test and posh-test (multiple choice), then normality test, homogeneity test and descriptive statistics were used to evaluate data analysis requirements. in this study the independent sample t test analysis was used to test the hypothesis using computer software assistance through the SPSS (Statistcal Package For the Scial Sciens) version 25 for windows program. Based on the results of research and discussion, the following conclusions can be drawn: There is an effectivenes of using flash cards to teach students’ vocabulary mastery at SMP Darut Tauhid. This is indicated by the results of the significance (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 then as the basis for the performance of the decision in the independent sample test, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is The use of Flash cards effective on students‟ vocabulary at SMP Darut Tauhid.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and examine the challenges experienced by ninth-grade students at SMPI Darudda’wah in learning English during the 2023 academic year. It also seeks to develop effective learning strategies to boost students' motivation and interest in the subject. A qualitative research approach was employed, involving classroom observations, student interviews, and analysis of relevant documents. Five ninth-grade students participated in interviews, which focused on their understanding of the material, as well as their motivation and interest in learning English. The findings reveal differing levels of comprehension, motivation, and enthusiasm among students. Contributing factors include feelings of anxiety, low self-confidence, and the burden of extracurricular commitments. The study identifies practical learning activities, enhanced teacher involvement, and curriculum adjustments as promising strategies to support and improve English language learning at SMPI Darudda’wah Punggur Kecil.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic acted as an unprecedented catalyst, forcing a global transition to online education and exposing deep-seated infrastructural and pedagogical vulnerabilities. This study investigates the lasting perceptions of this shift among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in Indonesia, focusing on the persistent challenge of the urban-rural digital divide. Employing a qualitative case study approach, this research explores the experiences of four junior high school English teachers in Pontianak Regency—two from urban and two from rural schools. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal a significant dichotomy in teacher perceptions shaped by geographical location. Urban teachers, while initially optimistic, developed negative perceptions due to pedagogical frustrations and declining student engagement. In contrast, rural teachers held overwhelmingly negative perceptions from the start, citing insurmountable barriers related to internet access, device availability, and lack of digital literacy. The study concludes that the emergency remote teaching experience has solidified teacher perceptions that a one-size-fits-all approach to educational technology is untenable in a diverse landscape like Indonesia, highlighting an urgent need for context-aware policies and equitable infrastructure development in the post-pandemic era.

Abstract

This study aims to apply GeoGebra learning media and determine the learning interest of Alfaqihil Muqoddam junior high school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a sample of 15 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through observation and a questionnaire on student learning interest. Observation was used to assess the implementation of learning using GeoGebra media, while the questionnaire was used to measure the level of student learning interest in the use of this media. The results of the study indicate that the application of GeoGebra learning media has a positive effect on students' learning interest. This can be seen from the average questionnaire results, which show that 79% of students gave very positive responses. Based on the analysis of learning interest indicators, the results obtained were: enjoyment of 84% (very high category), attention of 96% (very high category), involvement of 72% (fair category), and interest of 66% (fair category). In addition, the implementation of learning with GeoGebra media reached an average of 94.64% and was classified as very good. Thus, the use of GeoGebra has been proven effective in increasing students' interest in learning mathematics at Alfaqihil Muqoddam Junior High School.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical communication skills of seventh-grade students at Al-Faqihil Muqoddam Junior High School in social arithmetic. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects consisted of 10 seventh-grade students in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through tests and interviews. The test instrument consisted of three essay questions designed to measure students' mathematical communication skills, while interviews were used to deepen understanding of the test results. The results of the study showed that most students were able to meet the indicators of mathematical communication skills, such as writing mathematical ideas clearly, using symbols or representations appropriately, and explaining the steps to solve problems logically. Thus, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical communication skills in social arithmetic are good and effective

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve student’ ability in learning English by using the snake and ladder game method. This research was conducted through Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this study were a group of 16 students of class VII A MTs Mambaul Ulum in the 2021/2022 academic years. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students’ ability in class in using the game of snake and ladder in simple present tense English Grammar. This research was conducted in three test consist of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data were collected using quantitative data. The result of this study indicate that there is an increase in students’ ability to learn English by using the snake and ladder game method. The mean value of the Initial pre-test was 57.91. The average value of the Cycle 1 pre-test was 68.75, while the Cycle 2 post-test average was 77.29. The percentage of students on the result of the Initial pre-test who scored 70 or more was 3 students. The percentage of students on the result of the Cycle 1 pre-test who scored 70 or more was 8 students. Meanwhile, the percentage of students on the Cycle 2 post-test result who scored 70 or above was 1 students. In other word, students’ ability to master grammar is very good at the first meeting until the next meeting.

Abstract

An analysis of students‟ ability in writing recount text. The purpose of the research was to know the students‟ ability in wiring recount text of the eighth-grade student of MTs Mambaul Ulum at Kubupadi. The method used in this research was a descriptive qualitative which the researcher explained the result of research by describing the data gained. The techniques used for collecting data were observation and test. The tool of collecting data were written test. Based on the finding in this research, the students in the eighth grade of MTs Mambaul Ulum Kubupadi have good ability in writing recount text, with a total average score of 21. The score is 22 score at writing organization of the text, 21 score at content, 19 score at grammar and 20 score at vocabulary.

Abstract

Kesulitan dalam memahami materi pecahan masih menjadi tantangan utama bagi siswa SMP dan berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan matematis secara keseluruhan. Di SMP Alfaqihil Muqoddam, hasil observasi dan asesmen awal menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami hambatan pada keterampilan prosedural maupun representasi konsep pecahan. Kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sekaligus menarik minat belajar, terutama bagi siswa dengan ketertarikan rendah terhadap matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan komik pembelajaran matematika pada materi pecahan untuk siswa kelas VII sebagai media alternatif yang kontekstual, menarik, dan sesuai karakteristik kognitif siswa. Metode yang digunakan ialah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Komik yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, serta diuji coba secara terbatas melalui uji perorangan dan kelompok kecil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komik layak digunakan (skor ahli media 3,7; ahli materi 4,2), praktis (uji perorangan 4,7; kelompok kecil 3,9), dan efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar, dengan kenaikan nilai rata-rata dari 28 (pretest) menjadi 86 (posttest). Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa komik matematika materi pecahan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dan menjadi media pendukung pembelajaran yang efektif.Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Komik Matematika, Materi Pecahan
