Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study discusses the role of women in the field of careers from the perspective of Islam and gender equality in the contemporary era. Social changes and increased access to education have encouraged women to be more actively involved in the public sphere, including the professional workforce. In Islam, women are given the opportunity to pursue careers as long as they adhere to the principles of Sharia and maintain a balance in their familial roles. A career is understood as a trust (amanah) that demands professionalism, responsibility, and honesty from both men and women. However, women often face dual challenges, having to fulfill their roles as wives, mothers, and workers simultaneously. Therefore, role-sharing and cooperation between husband and wife are essential in achieving justice within the family. This study also explores how the status of women has changed significantly before and after the advent of Islam from being marginalized to being more appreciated in various aspects of life. In the context of gender equality, Islam emphasizes the principle of justice rather than mere role similarity, allowing women to be empowered without sacrificing their natural disposition (fitrah). Using a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, this study shows that Islam supports women's participation in the workforce in a proportional, just, and dignified manner.

Abstract

This study explores the relevance of prophetic traditions (hadiths) on commercial transactions (muamalah) in addressing the complexities of modern economic practices shaped by digital advancements. In an era of globalization and digitalization, trade activities have undergone a major transformation through the rise of e-commerce, Islamic fintech, and digital asset transactions. Employing a normative qualitative approach and library research method, the analysis focuses on selected hadiths related to economic ethics and the responses of contemporary Islamic legal authorities, including DSN-MUI and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy. The findings indicate that although originating in a 7th-century Arab context, these hadiths remain applicable as ethical and legal references in today’s digital economy. Core Islamic values such as honesty, justice, transparency, and social responsibility continue to serve as foundational principles for lawful and fair transactions. Therefore, integrating hadith-based values into contemporary Islamic economic law is essential to achieving a just, ethical, and spiritually grounded financial system in line with maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah.

Abstract

This article explores the concept of religious freedom in the context of Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) da'wah (Islamic preaching) to non-Muslims, focusing on a textual analysis of relevant hadiths. Using a qualitative approach and library research method, the study examines how the Prophet conveyed the message of Islam in a humane, persuasive, and non-coercive manner, as reflected in the Qur’anic principle lā ikrāha fī al-dīn (there is no compulsion in religion). The findings show that the Prophet’s da'wah was not merely aimed at conversion, but also at fostering just and harmonious interfaith relations. Concrete examples include his letter to Heraclius, the commissioning of Mu’adh ibn Jabal to Yemen, and hadiths emphasizing justice toward non-Muslims. This study affirms that religious freedom is an integral part of Islamic teachings and the prophetic tradition of da'wah. Hence, the article contributes to the discourse on a moderate, tolerant, and human rights-oriented approach to Islamic preaching.

Abstract

This research prioritizes the study of hadith that develops in the midst of globalization and advances in digital technology. Hadith, as the source of Islamic teachings after the Qur'an, has undergone a significant transformation along with the ease of obtaining information. Muslims can now study the Prophet's sunnah from digital platforms such as Maktabah Syamilah and Lidwa Pusaka. Digitalization brings many benefits, such as easy access to the whole world, rapid dissemination through social media, moral strengthening, and ease of reference. Digitization of texts, audiovisual content, and visualization of hadith in the form of images or memes are the three main forms of transformation. Apps such as “My Hadith” show innovation in the presentation of complete and modern hadith. Nonetheless, the digital age presents some problems such as the dissemination of information without clear sources. Misinterpretation may occur as authority shifts from scholars to social media figures. As a result, adhering to proper regulations while using technology such as source verification and data protection is essential. The concept of “living hadith” emphasizes the application of hadith principles in this social and cultural context. This method complements textual research by emphasizing daily practice. Verification of sanads, strengthening of hadith science, and caution in handling digital content are all steps that must be taken to combat false hadith. Although digitization offers new opportunities, technology should still be used with caution so that the message of the hadith remains valid and relevant.

Abstract

This research analyzes the concept of moderate and tolerant attitudes from the perspective of Prophet Muhammad's hadith, focusing on their implementation toward minorities in contemporary Indonesia. Employing a qualitative approach through hadith textual analysis and case studies, this research examines authentic hadiths from Bukhari, Muslim, and Abu Dawud related to tolerance. Three case studies are analyzed: religious tolerance in Manado, Muslim-Hindu harmony in Bali, and challenges of discrimination against Ahmadiyya. The findings reveal that prophetic hadiths provide comprehensive foundations for tolerance, including prohibition of religious coercion, protection of dhimmi rights, and the concept of wasathiyyah (moderation). Implementation in Manado and Bali demonstrates successful application of hadith values within Indonesia's pluralistic context. However, the Ahmadiyya case indicates challenges in practical implementation. This research concludes that deep understanding of tolerance-related hadiths can serve as a solution to strengthen social harmony and address intolerance in Indonesia's diverse society.
