Abstract

Abstrak Desa Long Bia di Kabupaten Bulungan, Kalimantan Utara, memiliki potensi pertanian yang besar namun menghadapi masalah keberlanjutan akibat penggunaan pupuk kimia yang berlebihan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) berkolaborasi dengan mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) dalam melaksanakan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di bulan Juli tahun 2024, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pembuatan pupuk organik, serta mengurangi ketergantungan pada pupuk kimia yang merusak lingkungan. Metode partisipatif digunakan dalam kegiatan ini, dengan mahasiswa KKN berperan sebagai motor penggerak masyarakat. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi masalah, sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan monitoring. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat menunjukkan minat yang tinggi terhadap penggunaan pupuk organik dan berhasil mengaplikasikan teknik pembuatan pupuk organik yang dipelajari. Program ini tidak hanya memberikan pengetahuan teknis, tetapi juga meningkatkan kesadaran akan praktik pertanian berkelanjutan, memperkuat hubungan antara universitas dan masyarakat, serta berpotensi menjadi model yang dapat diterapkan di desa-desa lain. Kesimpulannya, kolaborasi ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan hasil pertanian, pengurangan dampak lingkungan, dan pemberdayaan masyarakat lokal. Kata kunci: pengabdian; mahasiswa KKN; pupuk organik; pertanian ramah lingkungan Abstract The village of Long Bia in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, has significant agricultural potential but faces sustainability issues due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers. To address this issue, the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) collaborated with students from the Community Service Program (KKN) to conduct training on organic fertilizer production. The training, held in July 2024, aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the community in producing organic fertilizers and to reduce dependency on environmentally harmful chemical fertilizers. A participatory method was employed in this activity, with KKN students acting as community mobilizers. The stages of the activity included problem identification, socialization, training, and monitoring. The training results showed a high level of community interest in using organic fertilizers and successful application of the organic fertilizer production techniques learned. This program not only provided technical knowledge but also raised awareness of sustainable agricultural practices, strengthened the relationship between the university and the community, and has the potential to serve as a model for other villages. In conclusion, this collaboration contributed to improving agricultural yields, reducing environmental impact, and empowering the local community.Keywords: community service; KKN students; organic fertilizer; sustainable agriculture

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Selumit Pantai, Kecamatan Tarakan Tengah, yang selama ini menghadapi stigma negatif sebagai “kampung narkoba”. Permasalahan utama terletak pada minimnya aktivitas produktif dan keterbatasan lahan yang berimplikasi pada rendahnya kesejahteraan serta tingginya risiko sosial. Melalui pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), program pelatihan hidroponik diterapkan sebagai solusi pemberdayaan berbasis partisipasi warga. Kegiatan mencakup Focus Group Discussion, pembangunan instalasi, penyemaian, pembuatan nutrisi, hingga panen. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan teknis, motivasi, serta munculnya aktivitas ekonomi rumah tangga melalui penjualan hasil hidroponik. Secara sosial, kegiatan ini berhasil memperkuat kohesi warga dan mengubah citra lingkungan menjadi lebih positif. Pelatihan hidroponik terbukti efektif sebagai strategi pemberdayaan masyarakat pesisir melalui peningkatan kapasitas, ketahanan pangan, dan transformasi sosial yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Human Resources (HR) plays a crucial role in achieving corporate goals, especially in the context of increasingly competitive globalization. Effective HR management is expected to improve organizational performance and maximize company profitability. Employee performance appraisal serves as the main measuring tool in evaluating individual contributions to company goals, as well as determining rewards or consequences for employees. Work motivation is an important factor affecting employee performance, with high motivation potentially increasing productivity and job satisfaction. This research focuses on PT FAP AGRI, Tbk, where a decline in work motivation among Supervisors has been identified, potentially influencing their decision to quit their job. This study aims to provide recommendations for improving work motivation through strategies such as developing reward programs, improving communication, and supervision, as well as optimizing training and technology programs. The research method involved a census of all Supervisors who graduated from the Training Center at PT FAP AGRI, Tbk, with data analysis using descriptive and quantitative methods. The formulation of strategies to increase Supervisor work motivation at PT FAP AGRI, Tbk involves three main stages: 1) Input Stage: Identification and analysis of internal and external factors needed to formulate strategies; 2) Matching Stage: Internal-External (IE) and SWOT analysis based on the results of the Input Stage; and 3) Decision Making Stage: Evaluation of alternative strategies using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). The results show that the suggested strategies including the development of reward programs, improved communication, and the use of technology, as well as collaboration with educational institutions and utilization of government support, can significantly improve Supervisors' work motivation and performance. This research provides an important basis for formulating effective HR policies to achieve the company's strategic goals.
