Abstract

Semarang is a city located on the northern coast of the Java Sea which makes it becomes one of the cities threatened by tidal flooding. Besides tidal flood inundation, several other disasters occuring in Semarang include fires, fallen trees, floods, landslides, hurricanes, and collapsed houses. This study identified the disasters occurred in Semarang City from 2012 through 2021, as well as the strategies to cope with them in general, and specifically using information technology, namely Geographic Information System (GIS) maps. The data in this study were obtained from Regional Development Planning Board, Public Works Office, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Semarang City Social Service, and several related stakeholders. Those data were, then, visualized on a GIS map. Abstract

The community service program under the Regional Empowerment (PW) scheme aims to enhance economic capacity and community welfare through local product innovation based on appropriate technology (AT). Doplang Village in Semarang Regency has significant potential in cultivating tuberose, which is integrated into micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the support of AT. This innovation distinguishes local MSME products from existing market offerings through the application of technologies such as Solar Cell Battery Storage Systems, packaging tools, social media branding, and formulations for products like soap and hand sanitizer. The program was implemented through workshops, training sessions, and intensive mentoring, focusing on developing skills in product development, management, and marketing. Pre-test and post-test evaluations showed a significant improvement of over 50 points in participants’ skills and knowledge, particularly in management and product innovation. The program resulted in six main products, including baby oil, perfume, hand sanitizer, and laundry soap, contributing to local economic growth and supporting sustainable tourism through diversification of tuberose-based products and the application of renewable energy.

Abstract

Pendidikan untuk Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (ESD) memainkan peran penting dalam membekali siswa dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk mengatasi tantangan keberlanjutan global. Namun, integrasi ESD ke dalam kurikulum mata pelajaran tertentu, seperti kimia hijau, masih belum banyak dieksplorasi, terutama di sekolah menengah. Penelitian ini membahas kesenjangan tersebut dengan mengkaji tantangan dan peluang yang terkait dengan penerapan pendidikan kimia hijau berorientasi ESD di sekolah menengah. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Kabupaten Sragen ini bertujuan untuk menilai sejauh mana prinsip-prinsip ESD dipahami dan diterapkan oleh guru kimia di kelas. Pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan, yang melibatkan survei, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen dengan 26 guru kimia yang dipilih secara acak sebagai partisipan. Data dianalisis melalui triangulasi untuk memastikan validitas dan reliabilitas. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun 57,7% guru mengenal ESD, hanya 53,8% yang telah mengintegrasikannya ke dalam praktik mengajar mereka. Selain itu, 80,8% responden percaya bahwa pendidikan kimia hijau yang berorientasi pada PPB sangat penting untuk menumbuhkan nilai-nilai keberlanjutan pada siswa, meskipun banyak yang menyatakan keprihatinan tentang waktu tambahan yang dibutuhkan untuk implementasinya. Kesimpulannya, meskipun ada pengakuan yang kuat tentang pentingnya ESD dalam pendidikan kimia hijau, tantangan praktis, seperti keterbatasan waktu dan pelatihan yang tidak memadai, menghambat implementasi yang efektif. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan profesional yang ditargetkan dan penyesuaian kurikulum diperlukan untuk sepenuhnya menyadari potensi ESD dalam meningkatkan pendidikan keberlanjutan di sekolah menengah

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential and challenges of ethnoscience-based chemistry learning in Madrasah Aliyah. The approach used is a quantitative survey type with participants being Madrasah Aliyah chemistry teachers in Surakarta Residency who were taken randomly. The method used is descriptive-quantitative. The data collection tool used is a questionnaire containing statements related to chemistry learning and the ethnoscience approach. Based on the data analysis carried out, both survey results and interviews, that although there is high enthusiasm from chemistry teachers, namely 92.3%, to implement ethnoscience-based learning, their knowledge of ethnoscience is still limited. As many as 50% of teachers admitted to having difficulty integrating ethnoscience with chemistry material, and 57.7% of teachers had never implemented it. The main obstacles in the implementation of ethnoscience include lack of teacher understanding and limited supporting infrastructure. Nevertheless, the ethnoscience approach offers great potential to improve scientific literacy, understanding of local culture, and student learning outcomes. Policy and infrastructure support in madrasahs, including Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Wonogiri, is ready to facilitate further development of ethnoscience-based learning. With increased training and resources, ethnoscience can be effectively integrated to enhance student engagement and understanding in chemistry learning

Abstract

Penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi berorientasi ESD pada materi green chemistrysangat penting pengembangan modul ajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMA Islam YMI Wonopringgo Kabupaten Pekalongan untuk pengembangan modul ajar berdiferensiasi berorientasi ESD.metode yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan (R&D) dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan total sampel adalah 36 siswa.instrumen yang digunakan dibuat berdasarkan 5 indikator menurut Ennis berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 soal 1) memberikan penjelasan sederhana (elementary clarification), 2) membangun kemampuan dasar (Basic Support), 3) menarik kesimpulan (inference), 4) memberikan argumen dan penjelasan (advanced clarification), dan 5) mengatur taktik dan strategi (strategie and tactics).Hasil penelitian didapat kevalidan berdasarkan hasil uji instrumen oleh ahli instrumen mendapat persentase 97% dengan kategori sangat valid dan keefektifan instrumen berdasarkan hasi uji N-Gain memeroleh nilai rata-rata 0,66 dengan kategori keefektifan sedang. Hasil penelitian ini digunakan untuk pengembangan modul berdiferensiasi berorientasi ESD pada materi Green Chemistry untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

In an effort to provide a safe and stable learning environment in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikburistek) has issued a policy of the Kurikulum Merdeka for all levels of education. The underlying philosophy of this initiative is the concept of Merdeka Belajar, which essentially means that students are given the freedom to explore their respective interests and talents. This policy is a transformative step for the realization of Excellent Indonesian Human Resources (HR) who have a Pancasila student profile. Merdeka Belajar has been launched for 21 episodes through the end of June 2022. As this is a relatively new policy, some are naturally skeptical. Furthermore, comprehensive discussion of why and how the Kurikulum Merdeka is implemented to date is limited. Therefore, this paper presents an analysis of the new learning paradigm seen from the Kurikulum Merdeka perspective and the creation of a systematic review of the relevant databases for the adoption of curriculum changes. There is strong evidence that the Kurikulum Merdeka is a viable way to overcome learning losses due to school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work has the potential to become an important reference to increase commitment and cooperation from various parties in implementing policies for higher quality education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate students' understanding of climate change material in Chemistry learning at SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga. By analyzing data from 186 students who answered five HOTS-based questions after reading texts related to the impact of climate change and urbanization in Salatiga, this study found that the average student comprehension score reached 10.51 out of 13 maximum points. Student participation was relatively low with an engagement rate of only 43.2%. These findings provide insight into the effectiveness of environmental and climate change-based Chemistry learning strategies and recommend innovations to increase student engagement.

Abstract

Papaya (Carica papaya L.) leaf extract is rich in bioactive compounds with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and wound healing effects, making it a promising candidate for topical applications. However, there are challenges in formulating an effective and stable system. This study aimed to optimize the formulation of Papaya leaf extract emulgel using the simolex lattice design (SLD) method with various concentrations of Carbopol 940, Olive oil, and Tween 80. Eight formulations were evaluated for pH, viscosity, spreadability, and physical stability. This study showed that the optimal formulation of 1.0% Carbopol 940, 15% olive oil, and 10% Tween 80, which produced an emulgel with pH 6.1, viscosity of 4.580 cP, and spreadability of 6.8 cm, which are acceptable according to pharmaceutical standards. The above formulation showed good physical stability over 28 days of storage. In conclusion, the SLD method can be applied to developing typical herbal-based products and standardized for better effectiveness and stability.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan di suatu wilayah ditentukan oleh tersedianya pangan yang tepat dan memadai. Dalam memetakan dimensi ketahanan pangan ini diperlukan Web Geografhic Information System (GIS). Penelitian menggunakan mix method kualitatif dan kuantitatif yaitu kombinasi Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) dengan metode Technique For Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), metode pengembangan Web GIS menggunakan metode McCall. Data spasial yang digunakan: batas administrasi Kab. Kendal, titik lokasi kecamatan, jumlah dari beberapa variabel ketahanan pangan. Data non spasial: keterangan penjelasan tentang dimensi ketahanan, dan foto foto kegiatan. Pengumpulan data sekunder bersumber dari instansi pemerintah dan Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Kendal. Hasil penelitian dari metode TOPSIS berupa data perangkingan alternatif dimensi ketahanan pangan pada kecamatan dan peta Web GIS sesuai dengan beberapa variabel yaitu prasarana penyedia pangan yaitu rumah makan, penduduk, pengguna air bersih, jumlah tenaga kesehatan, jumlah puskesmas pembantu dan jumlah puskesmas, sedangkan hasil dari metode McCall mendeskripsikan bahwa total kualitas pengembangan WebGIS ini 61,05 yang berada dalam kategori baik. Penelitian ini dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut berdasarkan variabel ketahanan pangan yang lain ataupun untuk pemetaan daerah lain, sehingga diperoleh penggambaran yang lebih kompleks mengenai potensi dimensi ketahanan pangan pada suatu wilayah.
