Abstract

Satisfaction is a form of one's feelings after experiencing service quality that has met expectations. Health services, especially family planning, is expected to meet the needs of acceptors. However, there are complaints from acceptors related to the service of injectable contraceptive received. These complaints are related to the comfortability of the waiting room, the condition of the family planning room that is still not neatly arranged, and the lack of family planning equipment. The measurement of acceptor satisfaction needs to be carried out regularly, accurately and continuously through a satisfaction survey. This study aims to determine the level of acceptor satisfaction with Depo-Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA) injection family planning at Baumata Health Center, Kupang Regency. The study was a survey with a quantitative approach. This study had a population of 74 people. A sample of 43 people were selected using proportional random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results showed that acceptors were satisfied for the tangible dimension (88.4%), and very satisfied for the dimension of reliability (95.5%), responsiveness (95.3%), assurance (94.5%) and empathy (96.5%). The health center needs to improve the service quality of injectable contraceptives by ensuring the availability of related devices, timeliness in the service provision, and complete preparation of the injectable birth control equipment.

Abstract

Perinatal death is defined as fetal mortality at 28 weeks or more of pregnancy, as well as infant death within the first seven days of life. Pregnant women's nutritional status is one indicator that can be used to assess the risk of perinatal mortality. The goal of this research was to look at the factors determining perinatal death in the Sikumana Health Center Work Area in Kupang City. An analytic survey with a case-control design was used in this study. This study was conducted in the Sikumana Health Center's working region in Kupang City in November - December 2020. The study population was divided into two groups, the case population was mothers with cases of perinatal death totaling 38 people and the control population was mothers who had live births totaling 1,118 people. The sample consisted of 114 people grouped with 1:2 ratio of 38 cases and 76 controls. The sample was selected using simple random sampling. The results showed that there was an effect of hemoglobin level (p-value=0.000) and upper arm circumference (p-value=0.000) with perinatal mortality. Pregnant women need to increase their knowledge about balanced nutrition by accessing information from health media and consulting health workers at the nearest health facility.

Abstract

Efforts to prevent maternal death are carried out by utilizing ANC services to keep the condition of the mother and fetus healthy and to detect earlier the high risks and abnormalities during pregnancy. In 2020 the number of pregnant women increased but there was a decrease in ANC visits by 9.7% K1 and by 8.5% K4 at Puskesmas Oesapa. The decreasing coverage of antenatal care shows the low utilization of ANC services by pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to determine the facts related to using ANC services at Puskesmas Oesapa. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted at the Puskesmas Oesapa, with a sample of 80 mothers who gave birth in 2021, and used a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using an interview with a questionnaire. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate with a chi-square statistical test. The results showed that the variables that had a relationship with the use of ANC services were occupation (95% CI 0,004 = to 0,007;ρ-value = 0.006), family support (95% CI = 0,002 to 0,004; ρ-value = 0.003), a distance of residence (95% CI = 0,008 to 0,011; ρ-value = 0.011). Meanwhile, the mother's condition variable (95% CI = 0,435 to 0,455; ρ-value= 0.471) has no relationship to the use of ANC services at Puskesmas Oesapa. It is expected that mothers check their pregnancies regularly to detect early complications in pregnancy and that health workers can improve health promotion related to the utilization of ANC.

Abstract

Accreditation of community health centers (Puskesmas) is a systematic effort to improve the quality of health services through the fulfillment of established standards. Borong Community Health Center, which has achieved Main (Utama) Accreditation, is expected to provide high-quality services that positively influence patient satisfaction. This study aims to determine the relationship between accreditation status and patient satisfaction, assessed through five dimensions of service quality (SERVQUAL), namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 90 respondent, selected using accidental sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test with SPSS software. The results showed a significant relationship between accreditation status and patient satisfaction in the dimensions of reliability (p = 0.002), responsiveness (p = 0.004), and assurance (p = 0.001). Meanwhile, the dimensions of tangibles (p = 0.802) and empathy (p = 0.202) did not show a significant relationship with patient satisfaction. These findings indicate that Main Accreditation primarily enhances service quality related to service consistency, responsiveness, and assurance, whereas physical facilities and empathetic interactions have not become dominant determinants of satisfactio. In conclusion, Main Accreditation contributes to improved patient satisfaction mainly through strengthening service processes, rather than through improvements in physical aspects or interpersonal interactions. It is recommended that the health center continue to enhance the tangibles and empathy dimensions to further improve overall service quality.

Abstract

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global health problem and is a leading cause of death from infectious diseases. At the local level, TB cases at the Sikumana Community Health Center in Kupang City have fluctuated, with 134 cases in 2022, increasing to 150 cases in 2023, then declining to 147 cases in 2024 and 133 cases in 2025. This situation highlights the need to strengthen TB case finding efforts in primary healthcare facilities to support TB control. This study aims to analyze the implementation of TB case finding at the Sikumana Community Health Center in Kupang City based on aspects of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Six informants were selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The results indicate that the implementation of TB case finding at the Sikumana Community Health Center has been quite successful. Policy communication was implemented through outreach and education, supporting the understanding of program implementers. While resources in the form of facilities and infrastructure are adequate, the number of health workers remains limited, resulting in suboptimal active case detection. The disposition of health workers demonstrates commitment and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). The bureaucratic structure is supported by clear SOPs and service flows, but community participation in active screening remains low, resulting in suboptimal case detection. It was concluded that the implementation of TB case detection at the Sikumana Community Health Center has been quite successful, but human resources and community involvement are needed through increased active case detection, expanded door-to-door screening, and strengthened coordination with sub-districts, health workers, and the community.

Abstract

Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are non-communicable diseases that are the main cause of death in the world, including in the work area of the Oebobo Health Center, Kupang City. The high number of cases of these two diseases encourages the implementation of the Chronic Disease Management Program (prolanis) as a strategic effort to improve the quality of life of sufferers. This study aims to describe the implementation of prolanis in the Oebobo Health Center based on a system approach that includes input, process, and output elements. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The informants consisted of health workers managing prolanis and program participants with hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and thematically analyzed documentation. The results of the study show that the implementation of prolanis is supported by sufficient and competent human resources, adequate educational facilities and methods, and assessed educational materials. Core activities include medical consultations, group education, prolanis gymnastics, and home visits. The output of this program includes controllable diseases thus reducing the risk of pain and improving health status. However, obstacles were found such as the limitation of health workers if there were enough participants, irregular attendance, and lack of facilities to support physical activities such as education rooms and gymnastics. In conclusion, the implementation of prolanis at the Oebobo Health Center went quite well and had a positive impact on the participants, although there are still challenges that need to be overcome immediately to achieve optimal results.
