Abstract

The use of postpartum contraception (KBPP) is a very important effort to regulate birth spacing, pregnancy spacing, avoid unwanted pregnancies, reduce maternal and infant mortality rates, and improve family welfare. However, the use of KBPP in border areas is still low. This study aims to identify factors associated with the use of postpartum contraception at the Tasinifu Health Center in the border area of Indonesia-Timor Leste in 2025. This study is a quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of all postpartum mothers in 2024 - June 2025, totaling 190 mothers, and the sample consisted of 64 mothers selected using simple random sampling. The data in this study were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test with a significance level of p-value < 0,05. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0,002), husband's support (p-value = 0,000), and perception (p-value = 0,000) with the use of postpartum contraception at the Tasinifu Health Center in the border area of Indonesia-Timor Leste in 2025. The study also showed that there was no relationship between age (p-value = 0,677), parity (p-value = 0,624), and travel distance (p-value = 0,952) with the use of postpartum contraception at the Tasinifu Health Center in the border area of Indonesia-Timor Leste in 2025. Therefore, health workers at the health center are advised to enhance cooperation with village officials in setting targets and motivating the community to use postpartum contraception (KBPP).

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, often leading to illness, disability, and death. Sikumana Health Center, Kupang City, recorded the highest TB cases with 140 cases in 2023, indicating that the control program has not been fully effective. This study aimed to describe the planning of the TB control program at the health center in 2023. A qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews and documentation, involving four informants. Data were analyzed through collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The findings show that human resources in the TB clinic are still limited, causing service gaps when the person in charge is absent. Facilities and infrastructure are adequate, and the planning stages—preparation, situation analysis, problem formulation, and drafting of RUK and RPK—have been carried out properly. However, challenges such as wide service coverage and community stigma that TB is hereditary may hinder treatment. The output consists of RUK and RPK documents, and the health center needs to strengthen education and counseling to improve public knowledge about TB.

Abstract

Elderly Posyandu is a community-based health service that emphasizes promotive and preventive care for older adults. However, its utilization remains low in some areas. According to data from Noemuke Health Center, the attendance rate at Elderly Posyandu was 60% in 2021, increased to 70% in 2022, but sharply declined to 40% in 2023, falling far below the minimum service standard of 80%. This study aims to identify the factors associated with the utilization of Elderly Posyandu in the working area of Noemuke Health Center in 2024. This is a quantitative study using an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. A total of 96 respondents were selected through simple random sampling from a population of 5,023 elderly individuals. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test at a significance level of 0.05. The univariate analysis showed that most respondents had low knowledge (57.3%), negative attitudes (59.4%), lacked family support (58.3%), and lived far from the Posyandu (69.8%). The bivariate analysis found significant relationships between knowledge, attitude, family support, and distance to services with the utilization of Elderly Posyandu (p < 0.05). It is recommended that health centers improve regular education and outreach to both the elderly and their families, especially in remote areas. Family involvement and community engagement are also crucial to enhance participation. Further research should explore other potential factors such as socioeconomic status and the role of community leaders in influencing the utilization of Elderly Posyandu.

Abstract

Chronic disease is a major health problem that causes death worldwide, one of which is hypertension. Based on data from the Oesapa Health Center, the number of hypertension cases in 2024 was recorded at 58.96%, so it has not yet reached the set target. This study aims to determine the review of the implementation of the chronic disease management program (Prolanis) in the working area of Puskesmas Oesapa. The type of research used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection was done through in-depth interviews with 4 informants. The results of this study indicate that 1) input, the quantity of health workers is sufficient. In quality, health workers have competencies equipped with STRs, funds budgeted for prolanis activities are purely from BPJS, medical devices are still lacking, have SOPs on prolanis program services. 2) Process, before carrying out activities, a meeting is held first for planning the prolanis program, the implementation of activities runs according to the SOP, monitoring of recording and reporting is not optimal so that program coverage has not reached the set target. 3) Output, the Prolanis Program is right on target but the program coverage has not yet reached the predetermined indicators. The results of this study suggest that health workers must make home visits and monitor prolanis participants to routinely consume the drugs given and provide an understanding of the importance of maintaining a good and healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable disease that causes high morbidity and mortality, thus requiring proper and serious handling and treatment efforts. Data from the Kupang City Health Office shows that the Oesapa Community Health Center is the community health center with the highest cases of DM in Kupang City with a low achievement of 65.4% of the Oesapa Community Health Center's target of 100%. This study aims to determine the implementation of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for diabetes mellitus patients at the Oesapa Community Health Center in Kupang City in 2024. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study with 6 informants using a purposive technique. The results of the study indicate that input elements in the aspect of human resource availability have met the standards, sufficient funds, BMHP and medicines are available and examination tools such as glucometer tests are available. The service method provided is in accordance with the SOP. The market or target is in accordance with service standards, monitoring and evaluation are running well. The implementation of SPM at Oesapa Health Center has not reached 100% due to uneven training, unavailability of insulin, inconsistency of patients in conducting routine check-ups at Oesapa Health Center and late reporting from health posts due to low awareness of officers and busy daily services so that they do not input data on time. Therefore, the researcher suggests that the health center improve training for health workers, increase patient awareness through education, and establish a routine reporting schedule.

Abstract

Nursing rounds are one of the important methods to improve the quality of nursing services in hospitals, especially in enhancing communication among nurses and optimizing patient care. However, the implementation of nursing rounds at Bajawa Regional General Hospital has not been carried out optimally, which is suspected to be influenced by low nurse work motivation. This study aims to determine the influence of nurses’ work motivation in inpatient wards on the implementation of nursing rounds at Bajawa Regional General Hospital. This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 108 nurses working in inpatient wards, with a sample of 51 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most nurses had high work motivation (84.3%) and implemented nursing rounds (94.1%). Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between work motivation and the implementation of nursing rounds (p = 0.012; OR = 0,071). There is a significant influence between nurses’ work motivation and the implementation of nursing rounds in inpatient wards at Bajawa Regional General Hospital. It is recommended that hospital management enhance nurses’ motivation through continuous support, recognition, and supervision to optimize nursing round implementation.
