Abstract

This study aims to analyze the motives of Muslim entrepreneurs in implementing mujāhadah (spiritual struggle) in their culinary business practices, using Alfred Schutz's phenomenological perspective. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on Lubna Cake & Cafe in East Kutai. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis to explore the "because of" and "in order to" motives that influence business decisions. The findings reveal that past experiences, family background, and spiritual beliefs shape the “because of motives” that affect business practices, such as work ethic and dedication in managing the business. Meanwhile, the "in order to motives" reflect long-term aspirations, such as business expansion, improving employee welfare, and making positive social contributions to the surrounding community. This study provides theoretical contributions to understanding the integration of Islamic values in business and offers practical references for Muslim entrepreneurs seeking to combine spiritual values with sustainable business success. The findings also serve as a guide for researchers and practitioners to further explore the application of Islamic values in broader business contexts.

Abstract

Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, holds great importance and draws immense interest from Indonesian Muslims. Despite limited quotas, the number of prospective pilgrims continues to rise annually, posing challenges in managing hajj funds overseen by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH). This study explores innovative approaches to hajj fund management, focusing on optimizing investments, particularly in gold, a stable and secure Islamic financial instrument. The study analyzes literature and regulations on hajj financial management using a qualitative library research method. The findings indicate that BPKH’s fund management, based on Islamic principles, has improved significantly. Diversification through sukuk, cash waqf, and gold has helped secure hajj funds, though gold price volatility remains a challenge. Gold investments provide a hedge against inflation and market volatility, especially during economic crises. The study highlights the importance of innovative investment strategies to enhance the productivity and sustainability of hajj funds, with a recommendation for further portfolio diversification to maximize economic benefits for Indonesia’s Muslim population.

Abstract

Indonesians have different backgrounds; they can live in harmony and side by side without any friction and conflict due to cooperation between religions in an excellent multicultural frame. The research approach is library research. The primary data source used is the Qur'an with the thematic method, while secondary data is in books, journals, and documentation. The study findings show; (1) the cooperation verses in the Qur'an, fifteen verses have the Madaniyah status, and seven verses have the Makiyah status. These verses are grouped into three things: cooperation based on Islamic brotherhood, cooperation based on ukhuwah wathaniyah or nationality, and cooperation based on ukhuwah basyariah human-based. Somebody can carry out a partnership based on ukhuwah basyariah in a multicultural context can be carried out in the political, economic, cultural, and social fields. (2) The hadiths related to the cooperation verses are found in Sahih Muslim numbers 2704 and 2705, Sahih Bukhari numbers 2124 and 2811, Sunan Nasai numbers 3867 and 3871. Based on the transmission line, the hadith is agreed to be a valid hadith even though there are differences in the text, but the meaning has the same substance.

Abstract

The problems in melon cultivation include the decreasing availability of agricultural land and suboptimal productivity. To address these issues, a review of melon cultivation techniques is necessary, focusing on adjusting plant spacing and increasing the number of fruits per plant. This study aims to examine the effects of plant spacing and the number of fruits per plant on melon (Cucumis melo L.) production. The research was conducted on the horticultural land of Politeknik Negeri Lampung from June to September 2022. The experimental design used was a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors, each repeated three times. The first factor was plant spacing with three levels: 40 cm x 60 cm (J1), 60 cm x 60 cm (J2), and 80 cm x 60 cm (J3). The second factor was the number of fruits per plant with three levels: one fruit per plant (P1), two fruits per plant (P2), and three fruits per plant (P3). The observed parameters included weight per fruit (kg), fruit weight per plant (kg), fruit diameter (cm), flesh thickness (cm), and soluble solid content (ᵒbrix). Data analysis was performed using variance analysis followed by the LSD test at 5%. The results showed that a plant spacing of 60 cm x 60 cm with two fruits per plant and a plant spacing of 80 cm x 60 cm with two fruits per plant yielded better results for all parameters except for soluble solid content.

The authors find several references, documents, and other relevant data derived from previous studies and personal observations to provide insight into the subject under study. The findings reveal that: (1) Halal tourism in an Islamic perspective is contained in QS. Ali Imran: 137, QS. Ar Ruum: 42, QS. An Nahl: 36, QS. Al An'am:11, QS. Al-Ankabut: 20, QS. Al An'am:11, QS. As Saba':11 and reinforced by the hadith, (2) Indonesia occupies the top position in the world in terms of communication and services. It is not included in the top ten in terms of access and environment. The regions of Lombok, Aceh, and Riau are in Indonesia's top three halal tourism destinations.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the groundwater aquifer layer using the resistivity method in Puaringan, Pelangan Village, West Lombok. The aquifer layer is a layer of rock that has the ability to store groundwater well. This layer also tends to have high porosity so that fluid/water is trapped in the layer. The resistivity method used is vertical electric sounding (VES). This method is effective in detecting the subsurface vertically. Data acquisition was carried out using two sounding points (S1 and S2). Sounding points S1 and S2 were processed using IP2WIN software to produce a picture of the subsurface rock layer. The results of the S1 point study showed that the groundwater aquifer layer was at a depth of 113-126 meters identified as a sandstone layer. The results of the S2 point study showed that the groundwater aquifer layer was at a depth of 105-198 meters identified as a sandstone layer.

Abstract

The research aims to detect underground rivers using 2D mapping and minimal-noise data. In this research, 2-dimensional (2D) mapping of underground rivers in karst areas was carried out using the geophysical method of very low-frequency electromagnetic waves, namely VLF-EM (Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic Method). Electromagnetic wave analysis is based on differences in object frequencies, which reflect subsurface resistivity and conductivity and are captured by the VLF-EM detector. The measurement results were analyzed using three filter equations (Moving Average, Fraser, and Karous H-Jelt) and the Graphics User Interface Matrix Laboratory (GUI-MatLab) Software. Apart from that, the use of GUI-MatLab aims to create VLF-EM data processing software that is better for 2D interpretation display and more efficient in processing (requiring data entry only once). The research area was located in the karst rock area of Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, at coordinates 8.020°S and 110.36°E. The VLF-EM measurements and GUI-MatLab interpretation detected the presence of underground river flow crossing three villages in the study area (Timun Sari, Mojo Sari, and Peyuyon), with accurate results (conductive objects were easily distinguished). Therefore, based on this study, it is recommended that productive boreholes be drilled in the 3 villages where VLF measurements were taken. The productive borehole drilling is recommended in 3 villages.
