Abstract

Background: Soybean tempeh is known to contain various kinds of antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B2, saponins, isoflavones, phytic acid, lecithin, iron, and phytosterol. Antioxidants are thought to be hepatoprotective. The objective of this research is to know the influence of soybean tempeh extract to the liver histological damage of mice (Mus musculus) and the increase of soybean tempeh extract dose can also increase protection effect to the liver histological damage of mice (Mus musculus) which is induced by paracetamol.   Methods: This was laboratory experimental research with the post test only controlled group design. Samples were 32 male mice, Swiss webster type, 2-3 months old age and ± 20 g of each weight. Samples were divided into 4 groups of 8 mice each. Sampling technique used in this research was incidental sampling. Mice for control group (K) and P1 group will be given aquadest for 14 days in a row. The P2 and P3 group will be given soybean tempeh extracts dose for 14 days in a row. Soybean tempeh extracts dose in each group was 2.2 mg/20 g weight of mice and 4.4 mg/20 g weight of mice. Paracetamol will be given to P1, P2, and P3, with dose 5 mg/20g weight of mice on the 12th to 14th days. On the 15th day, hepar of mice was taken and stainned with Hematoxylin Eosin (HE) for histopathological study. The hepar cells of mice were observed microscopically by counting the number of necrosis cells on the centrolobuler zone. The data were analyzed by Oneway ANOVA test and Post Hoc test (α=0.05).   Results:The average damage of hepar cells in the K, P1, P2, P3 were 20.75 ± 1.58; 85.00 ± 2.98; 43.75 ± 2.92; 31.00±2.00consecutively. The results of Oneway ANOVA test showed a significant difference in all group (p < 0.05). The results of Post Hoc test showed significant differences between K – P1, K – P2, K – P3, P1 – P2, P1 – P3, and P2 – P3 with p < 0.05.   Conclusion: The soybean tempeh extracts can prevent the histological damage of the hepar cells of mice (Mus musculus) and the increase of soybean tempeh extracts dose followed by the increase of protection effect to the liver cell damaging of mice which is induced by paracetamol.   Key words: soybean tempeh extract, paracetamol, liver histological damaging.

Abstract

Background:The objectives of this research are to know the influence of soy bean tempeh extract to renal cell damaging of mice (Mus musculus) which is induced by Paracetamol and the increase of soy bean tempeh extract dose can  also increase protection effect  to renal cell damaging of mice (Mus musculus) which is induced by  Paracetamol.   Methods:This was laboratory experimental research with thepost test only controlled group design. Samples were 28 male mice, Swiss webstertype, 2-3 month sold age and ± 20 gr of each weight. Samples were divided into 4 groups of 7 mice each. Sampling technique used in this research was incidental sampling. Mice for control group (K) and the first treatment group (P1) will be given aquadest for 14 days in a row. The second treatment group (P2) and third treatment group (P3) will begiven soy bean tempeh extracts dose for 14 days in a row. Soy bean tempeh extracts dose in each group is 2,2 mg/20 gr weight of mice and 4,4 mg/20 gr weight of mice. Paracetamol  will be given to P1, P2, and P3, with dose 5mg/20 gr weight of mice in 0,1 ml aquadest on the day 12, 13, and 14. On day-15, mice were sacrificed and kidneys were taken to make preparations by paraffin block method and hematoxilin eosin (HE) staining. Kidney histological features were assessed based on quantifying of pyknosis, karyorrhexis, and karyolysis. Data were analyzed using the One-Way ANOVA test (α=0.05) and continued with Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons LSD test (α=0.05). Results:Result of One-Way ANOVA shows that there was a significant of degree between 4 groups with p=0,000 (p<0,05). Result of LSD method there was a significant of degree between K-P1, K-P2, K-P3, P1-P2, P1-P3, and P2-P3 groups with Beach p=0,000 (p<0,05). Conclusions:The feeding of soy bean tempeh extracts was able to decrease the renal cell damaging of mice and the increase of soy bean tempeh extracts dose     followed by the increase of protection effect to the renal cell damaging of mice which is induced by paracetamol. Abstract

Obesitas merupakan salah satu problem kesehatan masyarakat yang semakin banyak terjadi dan penting untuk diatasi, karena dapat menyebabkan berbagai penyakit kronik degeneratif, antara lain Diabetes Mellitus, stroke, penyakit jantung koroner, dan jantung. Pekerja terutama yang memiliki pola kerja sedentari memiliki risiko tinggi terkena obesitas dan penyakit degeneratif yang menyertainya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh obesitas dan diabetes melitus terhadap kelelahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan clustered random sampling. Obesitas diukur dengan menggunakan metode antropometrik meliputi indeks masa tubuh, lingkar pinggang dan ratio lingkar pinggang dan lingkar panggul. Diabetes mellitus didiagnosis dengan menggunakan pemeriksaan darah serta pemeriksaan klinis oleh dokter. Kelelahan kerja diukur dengan Reaction Timer Test. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan software SPSS versi 21.0.  Peneliian dilakukan terhadap 80 pekerja industry batik di Karesidenan Surakarta. Didapatkan prevalensi obesitas sebesar 15%, dan diabetes mellitus sebesar 8.8%, dan prevalensi kelelahan kerja pada responden sebesar 63.8% dengan faktor utama penyebab kelelahan kerja adalah usia. Hasil analisis regresi bivariate dan multivariate menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh obesitas maupun diabetes mellitus terhadap kelelahan kerja (p >0.05) akan tetapi kelelahan kerja dipengaruhi oleh usia pekerja dengan Odds Ratio 2.3 (95%CI = 1.4-3.5) untuk setiap kenaikan 10 tahun (p=0.001). Tidak ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara obesitas dan diabetes mellitus terhadap kelelahan. Akan tetapi, tingginya prevalensi obesitas dan diabetes memerlukan penanganan dan pencegahan karena kedua kondisi ini dapat menyebabkan berbagai disabilitas dan merupakan penyebab mortalitas. Abstract

Timah Hitam (Timbal/Pb) merupakan logam berat yang sangat berbahaya dan kontaminasi timbal dalam tubuh berpengaruh terhadap biosintesa hemoglobin, sistem saraf, sistem kardiovaskuler, dan sistem ginjal. Kontaminasi timbal yang berpengaruh terhadap sistem ginjal dapat menyebabkan pengaruh terhadap tekanan darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kadar timah hitam (Pb) dalam darah dengan kadar hemoglobin dan tekanan darah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  observasional analitik, dengan desain cross sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh. Sampel berjumlah 30 orang. Pengujian Pb darah menggunakan alat Atomic Absorbtion Spectofotometeri (AAS) dengan pengambilan darah sebanyak 10 mL dan pengukuran tekanan darah dengan Tensimeter dan pengukuran Hb dengan alat Sfignomanometer. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi spearman. Kadar Pb dalam darah semua pekerja masih dibawah NAB yaitu <40 µg/dL dengan rerata 3,26 µg/d.  Hasil pengukuran kadar Hb 28 responden dengan kadar Hb normal dan 2 responden dengan Hb <12 mmHg . Hasil uji korelasi spearman menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan kadar Pb dalam darah dengan kadar Hb dengan p value 0,201 dan r = 0,dan tidak ada korelasi yang signifikan antara pb darah dengan tekanan darah,dengan nilai p = 0.693 dan r= 0,075 untuk tekanan darah systole, dan  p = 0.327 dan r = 0.185 untuk tekanan darah diastole dengan nilai arah korelasi + (positif) dan kekuatan korelasi lemah. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara kedua variabel untuk tekanan darah systole dan diastole, dan kadar Pb dalam darah yang masih dibawah batas normal tidak mengakibatkan anemia.Kata Kunci : Kadar Timah Hitam, Kadar Hemoglobin, Tekanan Darah, Pekerja SPBU

Abstract

Sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia berpotensi dan rawan terhadap kejadian bencana, baik bencana alam, non alam maupun bencana social. Kejadian bencana dapat menimbulkan keadaan darurat yang harus segera dilakukan pencegahan dan penanggulangan kedalam kondisi yang aman dan selamat. Industri Batik di Kabupaten Sragen khususnya desa Pilang terletak di daerah aliran sungai Bengawan Solo yang rawan terjadi keadaan darurat dan bencana berupa banjir, kebakaran dan kecelakaan kerja akibat proses produksi batik. Sejak tahun 2007, di lokasi tersebut sering  terjadi rangkaian bencana banjir pada musim penghujan yang sulit ditanggulangi dan perlu mendapatkan penanganan segera khususnya implementasi emergency respon saat terjadi keadaan darurat banjir maupun keadaan darurat yang lain. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pemilihan skala prioritas bencana dan keadaan darurat di 3 industri batik desa pilang dengan menggunakan matriks VCA dan melakukan pemecahan masalah dari setiap prioritas masalah menggunakan hirarki pengendalian risiko. Prioritas masalah di 3 industri batik tersebut adalah keadaan darurat banjir, kebakaran dan kecelakaan kerja. Hasil dari pengabdian pada masyarakat ini berupa penerapan model HIRADC dan sistem tanggap darurat berupa simulasi keadaan darurat kebakaran dan banjir, pembuatan rute evakuasi dan titik kumpul, sosialisasi flowchart menghadapi keadaan darurat banjir, kecelakaan dan kebakaran. Kata Kunci: Keadaan darurat, Emergency respons system, Industry informal

Abstract

Emergency is abnormal and dangerous situations that threaten or require quick action to control, fixed and restored it to the safety condition. Most parts of Indonesia territory are vulnerable to disasters, whether natural and non-natural disasters or social disaster. Catastrophic incident may cause an emergency situation that must be carried out prevention and control into a safe condition, especially in the city of Surakarta that have strong possibilities to have floods, fires, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Geographically Surakarta located in watersheds of Bengawan Solo that potentially to face emergencies situation and disasters. Floods is possible to occur due to Surakarta is surrounded by more than three large reservoirs i.e. Waduk Gajah Mungkur, Waduk Cengklik, Waduk Delingan, Waduk Lalung and Waduk Kedungombo. Surakarta is also located near to Mount Merapi, which its eruption in 2013 had covered Yogyakarta and Surakarta .Junior High School (SMP) students are aged between 13-15 years who psychologically are able to receive information properly and to follow an appropriate education and training. Education on emergency response and disasters has not been implemented adequately in Indonesia, especially in Surakarta. Through this kind education and training, junior high school students are able to well cope with the emergency response procedures including fire emergency response, evacuation of flood disasters, first aid to victims of disasters, and determine the line of communication and make a proper coordination during the disaster situation with Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana, Police, Hospitals and Fire Fighter.

Abstract

Anemia is still a public health problem in the world and in Indonesia. WHO (2008) reported more than 75% of anemia in Asia is iron deficiency and 63.5% anemia in Indonesia is caused by lack of nutrition. Previous studies described that lead (Plumbum /Pb) can decrease hemoglobin levels. Sriwedari markets’ book sellers and Solo Wholesale Center’s street vendors are susceptible populations exposed to Pb as a result of motor vehicle exhaust. Approximately 70% of Pb in vehicle exhausts emissions are emitted into the air. This study aimed to analyze the effects of Pb exposure on blood Pb concentration and hemoglobin levels. This study was a quantitative observational analytic study with cross sectional design conducted in 2015-2016 at Sriwedari Market. Samples were 97 respondents obtained through random sampling and Spearman correlation was used for data analysis. Result showed that there were association between Pb exposure in the air and blood Pb levels (p=0,000; r=0,606) and blood Pb levels and hemoglobin levels (p=0,000; r=-0,623)

Abstract

Kebakaran merupakan api yang tidak terkendali yang terjadi di luar kendali manusia. Api dapat terjadi melalui proses kimiawi, antara uap bahan bakar dengan oksigen dengan bantuan panas yang saling berinteraksi. Suatu kejadian kebakaran akan menimbulkan banyak kerugian, baik material maupun nonmaterial. Oleh karena itu, kesiapsiagaan sangat diperlukan untuk dapat mencegah dan menanggulangi kebakaran, salah satunya melalui pelatihan pemadaman kebakaran sehingga bisa mengurangi kerugian-kerugian yang ditimbulkan akibat kebakaran.Pada peternakan kelinci di Karanganyar terdapat banyak material dan bahan yang bersifat mudah terbakar, serta sumber listrik yang dapat memicu terjadinya nyala api. Selama ini, para peternak belum pernah mendapatkan pelatihan ataupun sosialisasi tentang bahaya kebakaran dan pengendaliannya. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, maka pelatihan pemadaman kebakaran menjadi hal yang sangat dibutuhkan pada peternakan ini.Sasaran pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu para peternak kelinci yang tergabung dalam Perkumpulan Peternak Kelinci Sumber Urip. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian menggunakan metode ceramah, demonstrasi, dan simulasi pemadaman kebakaran. Adapun media yang akan digunakan meliputi: power point, video, alat pemadam tradisional, alat pemadam api ringan (APAR), poster, dan leaflet.Hasil dari pengabdian pada masyarakat ini berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan kuisioner. Secara keseluruhan, terdapat peningkatan persentase pada praktik pemadaman kebakaran setelah pekerja mengikuti pelatihan pemadaman kebakaran. menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan pekerja tentang kesiapsiagaan pekerja dalam menghadapi bencana kebakaran. Dengan keterampilan dan kesiapsiagaan yang dimiliki pekerja, maka dapat mengurangi kerugian akibat kebakaran yang bisa berdampak pada produktivitas kerja.Kata kunci : pelatihan, pemadaman kebakaran, peternakan kelinci

Abstract

Manual rolling work can cause work fatigue due to high job targets. Banana (Musa sapientum) contains natural sugars such as sucrose, fructose, and glucose as a source of energy. Work fatigue can be overcome with energy supplementation such as banana. This study aimed to determine the effect of banana supplementation on the level of work fatigue of cigarette manual rolling workers in X factory Karanganyar. This research was a quasi-experimental, with a one-shot case study design. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling, A total of 54 workers was randomly recruited as the sample. The independent variable of this study was banana (Musa sapientum), while the dependent variable was work fatigue. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze the data. The Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant difference between work fatigue before and after the banana supplementation to the cigarette manual rolling worker of X factory Karanganyar (p-value = 0.000). Thus, Banana (Musa sapientum) can be given as a food supplement to overcome the work fatigue problems in manual rolling workers.
