Abstract

This study examines the political apathy that plagues youth in Gowa Regency. Political apathy is an indifference and lack of interest in politics. This research was conducted to explore the causes of apathy and alternative solutions to these problems. The apathy that afflicts young people is a serious problem that must be solved. This is because they have intellectual capital that can create social change for the better. This change can occur if youth actively participate in each stage of the contestation. The research used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Informants were selected by purposive sampling, consisting of elements of youth organizations, apathetic youth groups and the government. Collecting data through document studies, observation, in depth interviews, focus group discussions and documentation. Analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results show that the causes of youth apathy towards politics include the lack of knowledge of the position of youth in development, a bad political image, the influence of the family/friendship environment and the contestants are only followed by one pair of candidates. Then alternative solutions that can be done to minimize apathy are to increase education or community-based political socialization and strengthen youth organizations as a forum for youth to develop themselves.Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang apatisme politik yang melanda pemuda di Kabupaten Gowa. Apatisme politik merupakan sifat acuh tak acuh serta tidak memiliki ketertarikan terhadap politik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menggali penyebab apatisme dan solusi alternatif atas permasalahan tersebut. Apatisme yang menimpa kaum muda merupakan persoalan serius yang harus ditemukan solusinya. Pasalnya, mereka memiliki modal intelektual yang dapat menciptakan perubahan sosial ke arah yang lebih baik. Perubahan ini dapat terjadi jika pemuda berpartisipasi aktif dalam setiap tahapan kontestasi. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan dipilih secara purposive sampling, terdiri dari unsur organisasi kepemudaan, kelompok pemuda apatis dan pihak pemerintah. Pengumpulan data melalui studi dokumen, observasi, in depth interview, focus group discussion dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yakni reduksi data,  penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab apatisme pemuda terhadap politik diantaranya masih lemahnya pengetahuan atas posisi pemuda dalam pembangunan, citra politik yang buruk, pengaruh lingkungan keluarga/pertemanan dan kontestan hanya diikuti oleh satu pasang calon. Kemudian solusi alternatif yang dapat dilakukan untuk  meminimalisir apatisme yakni, memassifkan pendidikan atau sosialisasi politik berbasis komunitas dan penguatan organisasi kepemudaan sebagai wadah bagi pemuda untuk mengembangkan dirinya.

Abstract

This research aims to see the influence of social media on teenagers in Indonesia. Teenagers are trapped in digital social life due to excessive use of social media in living a variety of lifestyles. The presence of social media changes the private environment into a public environment. Teenagers do everything on social media to determine and shape their self-identity. Therefore, this article discusses the influence of social media in the formation of adolescent identity. The research method used is a qualitative research method, more precisely library research. Specific characteristics that are used as a basis for developing research knowledge include; This research is confronted directly with the data or text presented, not with field data or through eyewitnesses in the form of events, researchers only deal directly with sources that already exist in the library or ready-to-use data, as well as secondary data used. The research results found that social media influences one's self-perception and identity formation is a complex phenomenon that has both positive and negative effects. Social media can be a powerful tool for communicating and building identity, but it can also lead to mental health problems, negative comparisons, and social stress. How people see themselves can be influenced by edited content, balloon filters, and pressure to conform to standards. Conversely, social media can facilitate social support, positive interactions, and the exchange of ideas that can increase a person's self-confidence. Individuals should understand the possible impact, maintain balance in social media use, and select content carefully

Abstract

Social media has a very important role in social relations in the digital era like today. Social media in social relations refers to the use of social media platforms to interact and communicate with other people. Social media allows individuals to interact with people from various backgrounds and expand their social networks. Apart from that, social media can also influence individuals' behavior and communication patterns in their social relationships. The use of social media can have positive impacts such as facilitating interaction and expanding relationships, but it can also have negative impacts such as spreading misinformation and decreasing privacy. The positive and negative impacts of social media must be taken into account. This research aims to analyze the influence of social media on social relationships in the digital era. The research method uses qualitative methods with a literature study type of research. The research results: 1) Increased interaction and use of social media, 2) Changes in communication patterns, 3) Positive and negative impacts of Social Media. Social media has a significant influence on social relationships in the digital era. As a researcher or user of social media, it is important to understand its impact and use it wisely

Abstract

The dynamics within online communities are an interesting subject of exploration, especially when we consider the interaction patterns and their influence in the rapidly evolving digital era. This research aims to explore in depth the interaction patterns formed within online communities and analyze the influence of online communities on their members. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection methods will involve in-depth interviews, participant observation, and content analysis. Qualitative data will be analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. It was found that the dominating interaction patterns, such as in-depth discussions, exchange of experiences, and collaboration on joint projects, provide a solid foundation for intellectual growth and the development of personal relationships within the community.

Abstract

Technological developments in the 21st century that are very prominent are communication and information technology. This research uses qualitative research methods with a library study approach. Literature study is all efforts made by researchers to collect information that is relevant to the topic or problem that will be or is being researched. Gadgets are communication tools that are used to make things easier in everyday life, but there are several benefits and disadvantages caused by the gadget itself depending on the use of the gadget. The ultimate goal of applying qualitative research methods is to describe or explain a phenomenon in depth and systematically which is done by collecting data in depth. The research results show that technology provides many conveniences, as well as new ways of carrying out human activities. The use of technology in life has various impacts, the positive being a decrease in concentration when studying. The hope of this article is to provide in-depth insight to parents and educators about how technological advances affect life.

Abstract

Digital society was born from the process of developing information technology which has formed a new world or new community, namely between the real world and the virtual world (cyber). The aim of this research is to discuss the importance of understanding the challenges and opportunities faced by society. In the use of digital technology, which is increasingly growing rapidly, marked by advances in information and communication technology, it is facing various significant challenges, including the digital divide, privacy and data security issues, as well as disruption of social values. Inequality in access to technology deepens social and economic disparities, while privacy and data security concerns raise concerns regarding the scope of personal information. But digital society also offers great opportunities, such as increased access to information that empowers individuals and groups, and the creation of virtual communities that support social solidarity and innovation. This research uses qualitative methods using data analysis through literature study. The qualitative approach was chosen because this research aims to obtain an understanding and explanation of the phenomenon of digital society with complex and varied challenges and opportunities from the perspective of the subjects involved. Data and information are obtained from various sources, including scientific journals, books, research reports, and online articles.

Abstract

The ever-growing digital era has made social media an integral part of everyday life, including among students. Social media now serves not only as a platform for socializing, but also as a potential learning tool inside and outside the classroom. However, even though it has positive potential, the use of social media in education also brings various problems and challenges. Some of the problems that arise include the impact on the quality of student learning, such as digital addiction, attention disorders, and the validity and security of information obtained from social media. This research aims to explore the impact of social media on the learning process and student interactions, as well as to identify effective strategies that can be used to utilize social media to improve the quality of education, while managing existing risks. This study also aims to provide insight into the integration of social media in existing educational curricula. By understanding the impact of social media holistically, it is hoped that educators and policy makers can develop appropriate guidelines to maximize the benefits of social media and minimize its potential risks, thereby contributing to the development of education that is adaptive and responsive to the challenges of the digital age.

Abstract

The existence of social media does not always have a good impact, on the side of privacy and security that someone has on social media is often abused. Even more so in today's digital era. Various aspects of human life, such as education, business, entertainment, communication, and public relations, are influenced by the rapid development of information and communication technology in the digital era. The occurrence of hoaxes and misuse of personal data of social media users is a negative impact that is rife today. This article seeks to examine strategies that social media users can take in dealing with online privacy and security challenges. The method used is qualitative research, more precisely literature research. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, which means data analysis is done to summarize, choose the most important themes and patterns, and discard the unimportant ones. Researchers select information that is really important to include in this scientific work. Furthermore, Display Data (Data Presentation) is when a set of data is arranged so that conclusions can be drawn. The result is that social media users must adopt a variety of proactive strategies to deal with online privacy and security challenges in the digital age.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the role and evolution of digital sociology. The development of digital technology has fundamentally changed the paradigm of social interaction and societal dynamics. Digital sociology has become a key instrument in understanding the impact of this transformation, focusing on the influence of the internet and social media on communication, interaction and social identity formation. Digital sociology not only reflects current realities, but also has major consequences for future changes. This research method is a literature study by collecting references from journal articles, books and social media news. Content analysis is used to understand the dynamics of communication and social change. The results of this research discuss the development of a more connected society, paying attention to the growth of social media users globally. Social and cultural changes that may occur as a result of digital sociology include transformations in communication, the influence of digital media, changes in work and the economy, popular culture, privacy, education, identity, and social activism. This research confirms that digital sociology is an integral element in understanding societal change in the digital era, guiding us in facing challenges and exploiting emerging opportunities.
