Abstract

The frequent occurrence of landslides in the Ngantang District, Malang Regency, especially in Ngantru Village, is caused by topographic conditions, where the area is hilly because it is located at the foot of Mount Kelud. Likewise, along the Banu Irrigation Area Channel there are points prone to landslides, especially in the upstream part. These landslides result in the channel breaking so that the irrigation water supply is disrupted. DPT (Soil Retaining Wall) is a building structure whose role is to maintain the stability of the soil on sloping land. The existence of this wall is expected to be able to prevent the soil from moving or landslides. Therefore, to protect the Banu Irrigation Area Channel, a DPT construction was built where the DPT details used were stone masonry construction or the Gravity Wall type. With a total height of 3.9 m, the bottom sole width is 1.00 m and the upper sole width is 0.50 m. The purpose of this paper is to analyze whether the existing DPT is safe  against the forces that work, especially analyzing its stability, then comparing it with other DPT designs with the Cantilever Wall type. Based on the analysis of calculations for the Existing Gravity Type Earth Retaining Wall, the stability figures for soil bearing capacity σ max= 23.76 > 15.012 (safe ), stability against sliding hazards Fgs=3.321 ≥ 1.5 (safe ), and stability against sliding hazards Fgs=3.321 ≥ 1.5 (safe ) are obtained. = 6.26 > 1.5 (safe ) while for cost calculations the value obtained is IDR 180,390,000.00 (One Hundred and Eighty Million Three Hundred and Ninety Thousand Rupiah). Meanwhile, for the analysis of the comparative soil retaining wall for the cantilever type, the stability figures for soil bearing capacity σ max= 25.92 > 15.012 (safe), stability against sliding hazards Fgs=3.55 ≥ 1.5 (safe ), and stability against overturning hazards were obtained. SF= 6.64 > 1.5 (safe ).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the stability of the Kambaniru Dam which is located in the Luku Kambaniru River, East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. In this research, a preparatory stage was carried out which included literature study and field observations to collect weir design data and soil mechanics data. The data is then analyzed using an appropriate formula to evaluate the stability of the weir. The results of the data analysis were used to prepare a final report examining the performance of Kambaniru Dam stability planning. The calculation results show that the weir with the planned dimensions, namely 7.00 m high and 69.40 m wide, equipped with a 30 m long energy absorber, meets high safety standards. Stability analysis shows that the safety value (Sf) in terms of overturning force, shear force and soil bearing capacity under normal and flood conditions (with and without an earthquake) exceeds 1.5, indicating that this weir is in a safe condition. Therefore, the construction of the Kambaniru Dam according to the planned dimensions is considered reliable and safe.

Abstract

Currently, the Temporary Waste Collection Point (TPS Tombro) faces challenges in implementing a waste processing system based on the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). While there are sorting facilities, the inorganic waste sorting largely depends on scavengers, and there is no organic waste processing. This research aims to analyze the waste management system at TPS Tombro, focusing on its infrastructure, supporting facilities, and capacity to accommodate waste from the surrounding area. Data collection was conducted through interviews, field observations, and waste transport surveys. The results show that although some of the infrastructure and facilities are underutilized, TPS Tombro can still manage the waste generated in its service area without significant accumulation. The study also provides quantitative data on the daily waste volume and compares the capacity of TPS Tombro with the generated waste. The analysis reveals potential areas for improving the waste management process, ensuring greater efficiency and sustainability

Abstract

The construction sector in Indonesia continues to show a high risk of work accidents, largely due to human behavioral factors that have the potential to cause accidents. This study aims to analyze the work safety behaviors implemented by workers on the Aura Park Housing development project by PT Bahagia Selalu Bersinar in Malang Regency, East Java. The main focus of the analysis is on the level of Compliance in the application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as the main indicator of Attitude towards safety. The research approach applied is quantitative with data collection methods using surveys and direct observations in the field over a period of one month. Data on daily PPE use compliance were collected from 77 project workers. The research data shows that worker compliance with PPE use standards reaches a very low level, which is only 20%, far below the minimum standard of 60%. Gloves are the most frequently used PPE, while the use of other vital PPE such as helmets, safety shoes, and vests is still very minimal. This low level of compliance indicates that work safety behavior at the project site has not been optimally implemented and a safety culture has not been well established.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of aspects of occupational safety, occupational health, and work environment on work potential, work quality, and commitment and job satisfaction in the construction project of the ISHK Tolaram Eye Clinic in Batu City. The research uses a quantitative approach with questionnaire, observation, and interview instruments. Multiple linear regression, the t-test, and the F test were used to analyze the data using SPSS 27. The findings indicated that the aspect of occupational safety had a significant effect on work potential, while occupational health and work environment had no significant effect. Simultaneously, the three aspects of OSH have a significant effect on job potential, but not on quality or commitment and job satisfaction. These findings affirm the importance of occupational safety in increasing worker potential, while health and the work environment need to be strengthened to more optimally support productivity and labor satisfaction.

Abstract

The variables affecting this study are the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) by PT. Podorukun Nusantara in the Atlantis Hills building construction project in Dau District, Malang Regency. OSH is very important for maintaining a safe workplace, preventing accidents, and increasing worker productivity and efficiency in the construction industry. Employees, managers, and project managers were the 55 respondents who received questionnaires as part of the quantitative methodology of this study. Using SPSS software, the collected data was then examined using multiple linear regression analysis, F and t tests, validity and reliability tests, and more. Safety management variables have a significant impact on OHS implementation, according to the data, but knowledge and implementation factors only partially show a meaningful impact. However, these three elements have a major impact on how well OHS is implemented overall. This study shows that active management participation in policy implementation, worker training, and supervision is crucial in fostering a safety culture in construction projects. It also helps businesses improve worker compliance and awareness of OHS implementation, which reduces workplace accidents.

Abstract

This study focuses on evaluating fire protection systems at gas stations, which are vital infrastructure for fuel supply. The main objective of this study is to assess the availability of fire protection systems and the need for fire extinguishers to minimize the risk of fire. The methods applied include a quantitative descriptive approach through field observations, interviews, and documentation studies. The results show that gas stations have adequate supplies of water and light fire extinguishers. However, active protection systems, including fire detectors, sprinklers, and hydrants, are still inadequate, with a recorded reliability rate of only 24% and field facility completeness reaching 11.7%. For passive protection and evacuation facilities, the scores were 18.79% and 22.45%, respectively, which were considered quite good. These findings recommend the installation of at least three 9 kg fire extinguishers, four pillar hydrants, and thirty sprinkler points. By implementing these recommendations, it is hoped that gas stations can improve the safety of service users and reduce the risk of fire, as well as comply with existing safety regulations. This study is expected to serve as a reference for gas station managers and related parties in their efforts to improve fire protection and safety systems at public fuel supply facilities.
