Abstract

Stunting is a linear growth disorder due to chronic malnutrition. Various factors influence the incidence of stunting, such as birth weight, birth length, history of maternal weight gain during pregnancy, and history of exclusive breastfeeding. However, study reports show inconsistent results. Therefore this study aims to determine the factors associated with stunting in children aged 6-24 months in the Work Area of the Sumpiuh I Health Center. Factors influencing the incidence of stunting are the history of birth weight, birth length, history of an increase in maternal weight during pregnancy, and history of exclusive breastfeeding. The study used a case-control design with a purposive sampling method. Using a sample of children aged 6-24 months, as many as 64 children. Data collection was obtained from KIA books, interviews, and anthropometric measurements. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test with a significance level (p=0.1). The results showed that there was a significant relationship between birth weight (p=0.083; 90%), birth length (p=0.046; 90%), history of maternal weight during pregnancy (p=0.024; 90%), and history of exclusive breastfeeding ( p = 0.035; 90%) with stunting. Abstract

WHO has declared the COVID-19 pandemic a worldwide emergency, and has implications for Indonesia’s economy. This situation affects household food security, energy and protein intake, food diversity, and infectious diseases in children under five, and leads to a decrease in their nutritional status. This study aims to examine the risk factors that cause malnutrition in children under five during the COVID-19 pandemic in Karanglewas Village, Jatilawang, Banyumas. This study uses a case-control design. Total sampling was used to identify the sample of 66 children aged 1 to 5 years in Karanglewas Village, Jatilawang, Banyumas as a locus stunting. Case and control groups were matched 1:1 by age and address. Data were collected using an HFSSM, DDS, and a 24-hour Recall questionnaire. Data analysis using Chi-square Test (X2). The results show that household food security (p=0.047; OR=2.833; 95%CI 1.015-7.906) and energy intake (p=0.025; OR=3.320; 95%CI 1.163-9.477) were associated with the nutritional status of children under-five. While protein intake (p=0.196), food diversity (p=0.255), and infectious disease history (p=1.000) were not associated with the nutritional status of children under-five. Household food security and energy intake are risk factors associated with undernutrition among children under-five during the COVID-19 pandemic.ABSTRAKPandemi Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) telah ditetapkan oleh WHO sebagai kedaruratan global berdampak pada perekonomian Indonesia. Keadaan ini berpengaruh terhadap ketersediaan pangan rumah tangga (household food security), kecukupan asupan energi dan protein, keragaman pangan serta penyakit infeksi pada balita serta akan mengakibatkan penurunan status gizi balita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti faktor risiko penyebab kejadian gizi kurang pada balita masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain case control. Sampel berjumlah 66 balita berusia 1-5 tahun di Desa Karanglewas, Jatilawang, Banyumas yang merupakan desa lokus stunting, ditentukan menggunakan total sampling. Perbandingan kelompok kasus dan kontrol 1:1 dengan matching usia dan tempat tinggal. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner HFSSM, DDS dan formulir Recall 24 jam. Analisis data menggunakan Kai Kuadrat (X2). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketahanan pangan rumah tangga (p=0,047; OR=2,833; 95%CI 1,015-7,906) dan kecukupan asupan energi (p=0,025; OR=3,320; 95%CI 1,163-9,477) berhubungan signifikan dengan status gizi balita, sedangkan kecukupan asupan protein (p=0,196), keragaman pangan (p=0,255) dan riwayat penyakit infeksi (p=1,000) tidak berhubungan dengan status gizi balita. Ketahanan pangan rumah tangga dan kecukupan asupan energi merupakan faktor risiko yang berhubungan dengan kejadian gizi kurang pada balita di masa pandemi COVID-19.Kata kunci: balita, gizi kurang, COVID-19, ketahanan pangan rumah tangga, kecukupan asupan energi

Abstract

Angka terkonfirmasi infeksi Sars CoV-2 di Indonesia semakin meningkat. Hal ini disebakan adanya stigma dan sikap abai terhadap infeksi Sars CoV-2. Ibu hamil merupakan salah satu kelompok rawan infeksi Sars CoV-2. Pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi menjaid hal utama dalam pencegahan infeksi Sars CoV-2. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan Ibu hamil terkait infeksi Sars CoV-2 dan upaya pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi sebagai peningkat kapasitas sistem imun tubuh. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penyuluhan disertai simulasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Paired T-test. Hasil pelatihan menunjukan adanya peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan Ibu Hamil dari 29.67±8.5 menjadi 69.33±13.1. penyuluhan gizi dengan stimulasi meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil

Abstract

Adolescence is the second period of growth and development after toddlerhood. Teenagers are faced with nutritional problems that prevent them from optimally reaching their potential. Prevention can be done by early detection of nutritional problems by peers through Youth Posyandu. This activity aims to increase knowledge and attitudes related to nutrition and skills in measuring nutritional status in prospective Youth Posyandu cadres in Karangsalam Kidul, Kedungbanteng, Banyumas using nutrition education methods and training in measuring nutritional status. Data analysis used the dependent t-test. The result is an increase in the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of prospective Youth Posyandu cadres. This education and training are expected to create Youth Posyandu cadres who care about adolescent nutrition.

Abstract

: Letak geografi yang berbeda dapat menyebabkan aksesibilitas dan gaya hidup penduduk di wilayah perdesaan maupun perkotaan menjadi berbeda. Hal tersebut dapat berdampak pada pemilihan jenis transportasi pada anak sekolah sehingga dapat mempengaruhi pada keteraturan aktivitas fisik hingga ke status gizi.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan jenis transportasi ke sekolah, aktivitas fisik dan status gizi pada anak sekolah dasar di wilayah perdesaan dan perkotaan Kabupaten Banyumas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan desain studi cross sectional pada 387 anak sekolah dasar kelas 4-6 di perdesaan dan perkotaan Kabupaten Banyumas, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster dan proposional sampling. Pengambilan data penelitian ini dilakukan secara langsung ke sekolah dasar menggunakan instrument kuesioner CPAQ untuk aktivitas fisik. Usia dan data antropometri berat badan serta tinggi badan juga diambil untuk penentuan status gizi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square. Hasil penelitian menujukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada jenis transportasi ke sekolah (p= 0,000) dan status gizi (p=0,000), namun tidak ada perbedaan signifikan pada aktivitas fisik anak sekolah dasar perdesaan dan perkotaan di Kabupaten Banyumas (p=0,306). Kesimpulan terdapat perbedaan pada jenis transportsi ke sekolah dan status gizi serta tidak terdapat perbedaan aktivitas fisik anak sekolah dasar di perdesaan dan perkotaan Kabupaten Banyumas Kata kunci: Aktivitas Fisik, Anak sekolah dasar, Jenis Transportasi, Perdesaan dan           Perkotaan, Status Gizi

Abstract

Literasi gizi disebutkan sebagai faktor kunci dalam pemilihan makanan sehat yang diikuti dengan pola makan sehat oleh anak-anak. TPA atau Taman Pendidikan Al-Quran dapat menjadi posisi yang strategis untuk dapat menjadi tempat pendidikan kesehatan terutama terkait pola hidup sehat sejak dini. TPQ Roudlotul Munawwaroh merupakan Taman Pendidikan Al-Quran yang juga peduli terhadap Pendidikan gizi dan Kesehatan para santri dan juga wali santrinya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalisasi peran TPQ untuk menjadi media edukasi gizi dan kesehatan bagi masyarakat pada umumnya dan santri beserta wali santri pada khususnya. Kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan literasi gizi santri dan wali santri, serta meningkatkan efikasi diri pada pengajar TPQ untuk terus memberikan edukasi gizi dan kesehatan secara berkelanjutan kepada masyarakat melalui program Pendidikan di TPQ. Tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu : 1. Penyusunan media dan topik edukasi, 2. FGD dengan Pengelola TPQ, 3. Edukasi Demo Porsi kepada Wali Santri, 4. Edukasi Demo Jajanan Sehat Buah kepada Santri. Kegiatan demo porsi dapat memberikan wawasan yang baru kepada para wali santri terkait besar porsi sesuai dengan gizi seimbang di keluarga. Kegiatan Demo Jajanan Sehat Buah dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pengalaman para santri untuk mengonsumsi buah dan juga memberikan saran dan rekomendasi topik edukasi sehat bagi TPQ kepada pengelola, wali santri maupun para santri.

Abstract

Background: Hypercholesterolemia, defined as cholesterol levels of 200 mg/dl or above, is often attributable to lifestyle shifts, including changes in dietary habits, particularly noticeable in young adults. Objectives: This study seeks to establish the relationship between patterns of fast food and sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption, dietary fiber intake, and blood cholesterol levels in young adults. Methods: An observational, cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 participants, selected through purposive sampling. The selection criteria included age between 18-25, non-smokers, no prior diagnosis of dyslipidemia or CHD, no family history of dyslipidemia, and not currently on a diet. The Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) was used to gather data on fast food and SSB intake, dietary fiber intake was assessed through food records, and cholesterol levels were measured using the Easy Touch GCU tool. The chi-square likelihood test and Spearman rank were used to analyze the data. Results: The study revealed that 48% of participants had cholesterol levels of ≥200 mg/dl. Descriptive analysis showed that 46% of participants frequently consumed fast food, 53% frequently consumed SSBs, and all participants had a daily fiber intake of less than 25 g. Bivariate analysis revealed significant correlations between cholesterol levels and patterns of fast-food consumption (p-value=0.000), SSB intake (p-value=0.000), and dietary fiber intake (p-value=0.019), all with a negative directional correlation. Conclusions: Young adults with cholesterol levels of ≥200 mg/dl were predominantly those who frequently consumed fast food and SSBs, and had a low intake of dietary fiber.

Abstract

Background: Obesity is a condition of excessive body weight. Tele-nutrition counselling is a remote nutrition service as an effort to treat obesity. Physical activity can overcome obesity conditions due to the process of burning calories which causes weight loss. Objectives : The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tele-nutrition counselling and physical activity on knowledge, attitudes, nutrition practices (KAP) in obese adults. Methods: This study used Quasy experimental with pre-post-test control group design. There was 56 obese adult respondents were divided into 2 groups that were given physical activity intervention, moreover the experimental group was given tele-nutrition counselling intervention. KAP scores were taken using a valid and reliable questionnaire. The intervention was conducted online. Data analysis used Wilcoxon and Independent t-test. Results: There was an effect of the intervention on knowledge (p=0.009), attitude (p=0.021), nutrition practices (p=0.000) of the experimental group. There was no effect on knowledge (p=0.477), attitude (p=0.935), but there was an effect on nutrition practices (p=0.003) in the control group. There was a difference in knowledge (p=0.023) but no difference in attitude (p=0.116) and nutrition practices (p=0.213) between the two groups. Conclusion: There was an effect of the intervention on nutrition practices in both groups. There was an effect of the intervention on knowledge, nutritional attitudes in the experimental group but not in the control group. There is a difference in the effect of the intervention on knowledge but there is no difference in the effect on attitudes and nutrition practices between the two groups. Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang terjadi akibat kurangnya asupan gizi dalam jangka waktu yang lama, terutama pada periode 1.000 hari pertama kehidupan (HPK). Indonesia saat ini masih menghadapi tantangan besar terkait prevalensi stunting, yang memiliki dampak serius pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kader posyandu dalam pengukuran antropometri dan porsi gizi seimbang di desa lokus stunting Sumbang, Kecamatan Sumbang Kabupaten Banyumas. Pelatihan antropometri yang diberikan berupa prinsip-prinsip pengukuran berat badan dan tinggi badan. Sementara, edukasi gizi seimbang yang diberikan adalah pengaturan porsi makan dalam satu piring dan komposisinya. Edukasi dan pelatihan kepada kader posyandu ini menjadi salah satu bagian kegiatan dari program Pengabdian Masyarakat Skema Pemberdayaan Kemitraan Masyarakat Kemendikbudristek. Kegiatan FGD menghasilkan daftar pangan protein hewani yang biasa dikonsumsi oleh Masyarakat sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar dalam penyusunan kegiatan edukasi. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan mampu memberikan edukasi dan meningkatkan pemahaman kader posyandu tentang antropometri dan porsi gizi seimbang. Kader diharapkan mampu untuk memberikan edukasi kepada para ibu balita secara mandiri tentang porsi gizi seimbang.

Abstract

Background: Hypercholesterolemia is a condition where cholesterol levels in the blood exceed normal limits. Fruits such as Gedong Gincu mango, sweet orange, and red dragon fruit contain nutrients that can lower cholesterol levels. Objectives: The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of Gedong Gincu mango, sweet orange, and red dragon fruit in reducing LDL cholesterol levels. Methods: Using a randomized controlled pre-posttest design, the subjects involved experimental animals (rats), totaling 30, randomly divided into five groups. Group K1 received standard feed, while K2, K3, K4, K5 were given High Fat Diet (HFD) until they developed hypercholesterolemia. Subsequently, K3 received Gedong Gincu mango 3.6 mL/200 g BW, K4 sweet orange 9 mL/200 g BW, and K5 red dragon fruit 3.6 mL/200 g BW. Result: The research results indicate that group K3 had an average change in LDL levels of -38.65±3.44 mg/dL (p=0,000) , K4 (-48.36±3.80 mg/dL, p = 0,000), and K5 (-51.88±2.21 mg/dL, p = 0,000). Conclusion: The administration of Gedong Gincu mango, sweet orange, and red dragon fruit reduces LDL cholesterol. The administration of dragon fruit has a higher effectiveness in reducing LDL cholesterol by -51.88±2.21 mg/dL.
