Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this research were to study the effect of Goroho banana (Musa Acuminate L.) peel extract on the decreasing of blood glucose content  of white male wistar induced with sucrose. This research using Randomized Controlled Group Design .The subjects in these research were 15 mices which divided into 3 groups, namely negative control (aquadest),  treatments groupusing Goroho banana peel extract 0,03 g/KgBB, and positive control using metformin 45 mg/KgBB. Data were obtained from fasting blood glucose examination, 30 minutes after induced with sucrose, and at 15, 30, 60, and 120 minutes treatment. Data analyzed statistically using ANOVA (Analysis Of Variant), the results extract goroho banan peel provide an effect on blood glucose content. LSD (Least Significant Different) domonstrate distinct difference, significant effect between negative group with treatment, negative group with positive group, but did not show differences between treatment group with positive group. Is Goroho banana peel extract exhibit activity to decrease blood glucose content of white male wistar induced with sucrose. Abstract

Crinum asiaticum L. is a plant that has antibacterial activity toward Staphylococcusaureusbacteria, which is one of the pathogen bacteria that causing the acnes. This researchpurposed for made extract bulbs of Crinum asiaticum L. formula gel and tasted the physicalcharacteristic toward Staphylococcus aureus. The formulation of extract bulbs of Crinumasiaticum L. is made with variety of extract concentration, which 1%, 5%, and 10% withCMC-Na as the basic. Negative control used basis gel and positive control used Erymed® gel(Erytromicin 2%). Gel that is produced by physically tested covers: organoleptis,homogeneity, pH, dispersive power, and consistency. Antibacterial activity tested is done bydiffusion method. Antibacterial activities data that are obtained by one way ANOVA withstandard trust is 95%. The result of this research showed that extract bulbs of Crinumasiaticum L. had antibacterial activities with average resistibility zone diameter for 1% (8,3mm) extract concentration, 5% (11,3 mm) extract concentration, 10% (16 mm) extractconcentration, positive control (32 mm), and negative control (0 mm). Positive controlcounted as vey strong resistibility, extract concentration 5% and 10% counted as strongresistibility, extract concentration 1% counted as fair resistibility and negative control notgiven antibacterial activities.Key words: extract bulbs of Crinum asiaticum L., CMC-Na, antibacterial, Staphylococcusaureus.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aims of this research were to testing the quality of songgolangit leaves ethanol extractanalgesic syrup. Songgolangit leaves ethanol extract analgesic syrup were make with 3various concentrations of active substances which are 40%, 50%, 60% and the quality weretesting. The outcome of quality testing of songgolangit leaves ethanol extract syrup has agood homogeneity. On organoleptic test, songgolangit leaves ethanol extract syrup wassmelling like extract, has a bitter taste, and colored yellow. The pH of songgolangit leavesethanol extract syrup be on the maximum stability which are on 5-7 pH. The average ofcastings time be on the similliar values with the positif control that become a parameter.Key words : analgesic, Tridax procumbens L.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSuffer from worms is a chronic and endemic disease caused by parasite worm in high prevalence, notdeadly, but gnaw the health of the people therefore decrease the nutrient. The purposes of thisresearch are to know the effect of anthelmintic from infusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassia alata L.)toward Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) and to know the effectiveness of infusion KetepengChinese leaf (Cassia alata L.) to get the anthelmintic effect toward Roundworms (Ascarislumbricoides). This research, used experiment method in order to know the anthelmintic effectinfusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassia alata L.) by 20%, 40% and 80% concentration in comparisonwith pirantel pamoate solution (combantrin®) as a positive control and NaCl solution 0,9% asnegative control. The result of the research can showed that infusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassiaalata L.) by 20%, 40% and 80% concentration is proved to gave anthelmintic effect towardRoundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) which get paralysis after 24 hours observation. Effective valuefrom infusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassia alata L.) which gives anthelmintic effect toward2Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) is in 20% concentration. This concentration shows thatRoundworms gets paralysis, which is at 12th up to 18th hour, after being given treatment the wormsmovement is getting low and becoming slow and at the 24th hour Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides)gets paralysis, but it take much longer times than the concentration of 80% that have shownanthelmintic effects at the 12th hour.Keyword : Infusion, Ketepeng Chinese Leaf (Cassia alata L.), Anthelmintic Effect.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBurn wound is damaged tissue caused by contact with a heat source which causes infection, so needed some drug for this burn wound. Ointment is a pharmaceutical dosage form used on the skin which is intended for topical effect. In African leaves or Vernonia amygdalina  which has many chemical contents and useful effects. This study aimed to test the quality preparation of ointments made from African leaves ethanol extract with hydrocarbon and absorption and its effect on burn wound in rabbits in order to find out effective ointment base for burn wound. The procedures applied were to dry the samples and extract them by maceration. After that, the samples were soaked using ethanol and diaterbath to obtain their thick extract. Later, the base ointment was mixed with thick extract using hot mortar, and tested for its physical properties and effectiveness of burn wound. The results showed that the hydrocarbon and absorbtion ointment base has good quality except for absorption?s poor distribution capacity due to its small dispersive power. African leaves extract ointment with hydrocarbon base and absorption has good quality preparations except for the absorption base? dispersion power for due to its small dispersive power. To conclude, this study proves that the African leaf extract ointment with hydrocarbon base is very effective for burn wound healing. Key Words: African Leaves, Burn Wound, Ointment. ABSTRAKLuka bakar merupakan rusaknya jaringan yang disebabkan kontak dengan sumber panas yang dapat menimbulkan infeksi, maka dari itu dibutuhkan sediaan yang dapat menangani luka bakar tersebut. Sediaan salep merupakan bentuk sediaan farmasi yang digunakan pada kulit yang dimaksudkan untuk efek topikal. Pada daun Afrika (Vernonia amygdalina) dapat ditemukan banyak kandungan kimia dan efek yang baik juga. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji salep ekstrak etanol daun Afrika dengan basis hidrokarbon dan absorbsi terhadap sediaan mutu dan juga terhadap luka bakar pada kelinci kemudian menemukan basis salep yang efektif untuk luka bakar. Sampel dikeringkan dan diekstraksi secara maserasi dan direndam menggunakan etanol dan diwaterbath untuk mendapatkan ekstrak kental, bahan basis salep dicampurkan dengan ekstrak kental menggunakan mortar panas, diuji sifat fisik dan efektifitas terhadap luka bakar. Basis hidrokarbon sangat efektif untuk luka bakar. Untuk basis hidrokarbon bersifat melunakkan lapisan kulit karena occlusive sehingga akan meningkatkan hidratasi kulit dengan menghambat penguapan air pada lapisan kulit, akibat hidratasi lapisan kulit, mungkin juga akan meningkatkan aktivitas obat. Absorbsi menunjukkan kemampuan basis dalam menyerap air, bukan kemampuan obat diabsorpsi oleh kulit. Salep ekstrak daun Afrika dengan basis hidrokarbon dan absorbsi memiliki sediaan mutu yang baik kecuali pada bagian daya sebar untuk basis absorbsi karena memiliki hasil daya sebar yang kecil, basis hidrokarbon salep ekstrak daun Afrika sangat efektif terhadap penyembuhan luka bakar. Kata Kunci: Daun Afrika, Luka Bakar, Salep.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the value of sun protecting factor (SPF) of pineapple skinextracts (Ananas comosus L Merr) in the form of cream with variant concentration of 2%,4% and 8%. The pineapple skin contains flavonoids and tannins substances that can give theeffect as a sunscreen. The formulation of pineapple skin extract cream using the phase of oilin water. The ingredients that was use in the cream formulation are stearic acid, liquidparaffin cera alba, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, triethanolamine, distilledwater and nipagin. Cream of pineapple skin extract then giving a variety of specified qualitytesting and SPF value. Each concentration cream diluted using 96% ethanol. Creams that hasbeen diluted read it’s absorbance value at UV-Vis Spectrophotometer instrument thencalculated the SPF values. The results showed that the cream of pineapple skin extract hasmet the requirements after conducting various quality of cream tests and the SPF value ofeach cream concentrations are very low. It’s been Concluded that the concentration ofpineapple skin extract cream 2% has shown a very small SPF value and increasing theconcentration of 4% and 8% demonstrate higher SPF values but still does not meet thestandards as a good sunscreen cream.Keywords : cream, extract, pineapple skin, sunscreen, sun protecting factor

Absorbsi menunjukkan kemampuan basis dalam menyerap air, bukan kemampuan obat diabsorpsi oleh kulit. Salep ekstrak daun Afrika dengan basis hidrokarbon dan absorbsi memiliki sediaan mutu yang baik kecuali pada bagian daya sebar untuk basis absorbsi karena memiliki hasil daya sebar yang kecil, basis hidrokarbon salep ekstrak daun Afrika sangat efektif terhadap penyembuhan luka bakar. Kata Kunci: Daun Afrika, Luka Bakar, Salep.

Abstract

The aim of these research were to study antibacterial effect, effective concentration, and theeffect of concentration alteration of white galangal rhizome extract ointmentto heal rabbitsback skininfected with Staphylococcus aureus. Extraction was done by maceration usingethanol 96% as solvent. Observation of healing time was done by observing infectionhealingtime on rabbits back skin after anointment treatment, which based onthe disappearance oferythema and pus. The result shows that 10% of white galangal rhizome extract ointmenteffective to heal the infection of Staphylococcus aureus. It shown by its short healing timecompared with concentration 3% and 5%. One way ANOVA result shows that there was asignificant effect between concentrations 3%, 5%,and 10%. Abstract

Soursoup fruit nutrient includes vitamins C and B1. Vitamin which is the most dominant insoursop fruit is vitaman C, where the compound is in the form of a natural antioxidant in thebody. Antioxidants help the body to fight against various free radicals that enter the body and isexcellent for improving the immune system and slow the aging process. This study aimed toinvestigate the effect of different formulations of effervescent granules made from soursoup fruitjuice against physical properties of granules prepared by wet granulation method. Testpreparation includes organoleptic quality, moisture content, flow properties, and solubility time.Of the three formulations, variations in the quantity of citric acid, tartaric acid and sodiumbicarbonate gave effect on water levels, silence angle, and time of depression of granule made ofsoursoup fruit juice. In formulation 1, the water content was 0.19%, a flow rate of 8.2 seconds,the silence angle of 33.02 degrees, and dispersion time was 2 minutes 13 seconds.In the secondformulation, water content was 0,21%, a flow rate of 8.1 seconds, the silence angle of 31.52degrees, and dispersion time at 3 minutes 3 seconds. In the third formulation, water content was0,28%, a flow rate of 9,7 seconds, the silence angle of 31.56 degrees, and dispersion time at 4minutes 5 seconds.Key words: soursoup, effervescent granule, wet granule, natrium bicarbonate
