Abstract

Sasaladahan contains saponin, tannin, alkaloid, calcium oxalate, fat, essential oil, flavonoid,steroid, triterpenoid and carbohydrate. Saponin can stimulate the formation of collagen, whiletannin and flavonoid have activity as antiseptic and antibacterial. The aims of this researchwere to determine the quality of Sasaladahan leaves extract gel (Peperomia pellucida (L.)HBK) by varying the concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% and its effect on the healing of burnwound. The quality of gel was test with organoleptic test, homogenity, pH, spreadability andconsistency. The effectiveness test of the gel performed on 5 rabbits were divided into 5treatment groups where each rabbit made 3 burn wound using a hot metal plate with diameterof 20 mm. The first rabbit was given sasaladahan gel with a concentration of 5%, 2nd rabbitgiven sasaladahan gel with a concentration of 10%, 3rd rabbit given sasaladahan gel with aconcentration of 15%, 4th rabbit given a positive control and 5th rabbit given a negativecontrol. The wound diameter be measured every day until day 7. Data were statisticallyanalyzed using One Way Anova. The results show Sasaladahan gel with concentration of 5%,10% and 15% fulfilled the parameter evaluation of organoleptic test, homogenity, pH andconsistency while the results of spreadability test are not yet fulfilled the parameter of a goodspreadability (5-7 cm). The result of the effectiveness test of Sasaladahan leaves extract gelshow sasaladahan leaves extract gel with concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% have thehealing effect on burn wound.Keywords: Gel, Extract, Sasaladahan Leaves, Burn wound, Rabbit

Abstract

ABSTRACTPeel of avocado (Persea americana Mill) contain efficacious compounds as an antioxydant.This studyhave purpose to determinethe value of Sun Protective Factor (SPF) of sunscreenfrom avocado's peel extract (Persea americana Mill) with aconcentration of5%, 7.5% and10%. In the determination of in vitro SPF valuesusing a spectrophotometer produce SPFvalues obtainedat a concentration of 5% is 3.99, 7.5% is 5.88,10% is 6.81. Abstract

ABSTRACT Kaliandra Leaf (Calliandra surinamensis Benth) contains flavonoid compounds, saponins and tannins which are able to inhibit the antibacterial activity. This study aims to test the antibacterial effectiveness of gel preparation of ethanol extracts of kaliandra leaf to obtain the greatest formula, and prove the Kaliandra leaf gel preparation has good physical stability. This study uses a laboratory experimental method. Gel formula is made as many as 5 formulas with variations in the concentration of 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, and 6% of w : v. Kaliandra leaf extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol. The antibacterial test of the ethanol extracts of Kaliandra leaf gel using the method of welling against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria produced a moderate inhibition of 7.0 ± 0.63 mm at a concentration of 6%. The physical evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, syneresis test, scatter power test, adhesion test, pH test, cycling test, and sterility test. All tests are carried out before and after the cycling test. The results of the study on the preparation fulfilled the physical evaluation requirements before and after the cycling test. It can be concluded that the concentration of 6% of ethanol extracts of Kaliandra leaves could be formulated as a gel preparation that is physically stable and has moderate antibacterial activity. Keywords: Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis Benth), Gel preparations, Staphylococcus aureus antibacterial.  ABSTRAK Daun Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensus Benth) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang mampu menghambat aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra untuk mendapatkan formula terbesar, serta membuktikan sediaan gel daun Kaliandra mempunyai stabilitas fisik yang baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimental laboratorium. Formula sediaan gel dibuat sebanyak 5 formula dengan variasi konsentrasi 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, dan 6% b/v. Ekstraksi daun Kaliandra dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%.  Penelitian uji antibakteri sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra menggunakan metode sumuran pada bakteri staphylococcus aureus menghasilkan daya hambat yang sedang yaitu 7,0±0,63 mm pada konsentrasi 6%. Evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji sineresis, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji pH, uji cycling test, dan uji sterilitas. Semua pengujian dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Hasil penelitian sediaan memenuhi persyaratan eveluasi fisik sebelum uji cycling test dan sesudah cycling test. Dapat disimpulkan pada kosentrasi 6% ekstrak etanol daun Kaliandra dapat diformulasi sebagai sediaan gel yang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang sedang. Kata kunci : Kaliandra (Calliandra surinamensis Benth), Sediaan Gel, Antibakteri Staphlococcous  aureus.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTembelekan leaves (Lantana camara L.) contains flavonoids that possess antipyretic activityto inhibit prostaglandin. The aim of this study was toexamine the effect of ethanolic extractfrom tembelekan leaves as antipyreticon white male rats strain Wistar induced with DPT-Hb.This study is arandomized complete experimental design. Tested animals were 15 white malewistar rats, weighing 130-180g. Test ed animals were divided into 5 groups : negative group(CMC suspension 2.5ml), positive group (paracetamol), and treatment group of tembelekanleaves extract 720mg/kgBB, 1080mg/kgBB and 1440mg/kgBB. Temperature measurementswere conducted before the rats induced with DPT-Hb, 1 hour after administered with DPTeanalyzed by ANOVA and LSD (Least significant different). Abstract

Sea grass is a group of flowering plant, leaved, has its own roots and live in a shallow water.It usually used to capture sediment, compost, and as antioxidant. The use of sea grass onhuman needs to be conducted. Because of its potency and its component such as flavonoids, aresearch to identify kind of flavonoids in sea grass must be conducted. The aims of thisresearch are to isolate and identify flavonoids in sea grass (Syringodium isoetifolium) usingthin layer chromatography and spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Extraction was done withmaceration using ethanol 96% as solvent. Isolation was done by Thin Layer ChromatographyGF 6054, and n-butanol : acetic acid : water (BAA) (4:1:5). There are two spot after isolatewith TLC, the first is yellow spot with Rf 0,4 and second is red with Rf 0,8. Identification offlavonoids was done using spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this research were to study the effect of Goroho banana (Musa Acuminate L.) peel extract on the decreasing of blood glucose content  of white male wistar induced with sucrose. This research using Randomized Controlled Group Design .The subjects in these research were 15 mices which divided into 3 groups, namely negative control (aquadest),  treatments groupusing Goroho banana peel extract 0,03 g/KgBB, and positive control using metformin 45 mg/KgBB. Data were obtained from fasting blood glucose examination, 30 minutes after induced with sucrose, and at 15, 30, 60, and 120 minutes treatment. Data analyzed statistically using ANOVA (Analysis Of Variant), the results extract goroho banan peel provide an effect on blood glucose content. LSD (Least Significant Different) domonstrate distinct difference, significant effect between negative group with treatment, negative group with positive group, but did not show differences between treatment group with positive group. Is Goroho banana peel extract exhibit activity to decrease blood glucose content of white male wistar induced with sucrose. Abstract

Crops Cassava (Manihot esculenta) contains carbohydrates, phosphorus, calcium, vitaminC, protein, iron and vitamin B1 can provide a healing effect on wounds. The content contained incassava able to give effect to the skin re-epithelialization of damaged tissues due to burns. Thisstudy aims to determine the effectiveness of the test extract tubers Cassava (Manihot esculenta) inthe dosage form of a cream with the concentration level of 2%, 4%, and 8% for burn woundhealing in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Making cream formulation using cassava tuber extractoil phase in water and used as test animals 10 rabbits, divided into 5 treatment groups, namely, testthe cream treatment group, negative control group (basic cream) and a positive control group(Bioplacenton). Burns in the back with a diameter of 1.5 cm were treated and observed the healingeffects for 7 days. The results showed that from day-1 to day-7 observations burns suffereddiminution in diameter. It was concluded that the concentration of 2% cassava extract cream hashealing effect and increasing the concentration of 4% and 8% contained showed more effectiveand speed up the healing process.Keywords: cream, extract, cassava tubers, healing burns, rabbit

Abstract

Tembelekan (Lantana camara L) is a wild plant that its leaves contain chemicals such asphenols, flavonoids and alkaloids. Chemical constituents in tembelekan allegedly hasantibacterial ability against Staphylococcus epidermidis. This research aims to create anantibacterial ointment to the active substance ethanol extract of leaves tembelekan.Antibacterial ointment tembelekan ethanol extract of the leaves made in two concentrations,namely 20% and 24%. Conducted quality testing ointment is organoleptic test, homogeneitytest, test and test pH value dispersive power. Quality test results conducted on theconcentration ointment with two parameters meet the organoleptic test, test and test pH valuehomogeneity. Tembelekan leaf extract ointment ethanol concentration of 20% and 24% didnot meet the quality parameters to test dispersive power.Keywords: Ethanol Leaf Extract tembelekan, ointments, test quality.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aims of this research were to testing the quality of songgolangit leaves ethanol extractanalgesic syrup. Songgolangit leaves ethanol extract analgesic syrup were make with 3various concentrations of active substances which are 40%, 50%, 60% and the quality weretesting. The outcome of quality testing of songgolangit leaves ethanol extract syrup has agood homogeneity. On organoleptic test, songgolangit leaves ethanol extract syrup wassmelling like extract, has a bitter taste, and colored yellow. The pH of songgolangit leavesethanol extract syrup be on the maximum stability which are on 5-7 pH. The average ofcastings time be on the similliar values with the positif control that become a parameter.Key words : analgesic, Tridax procumbens L.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPneumonia is an infectious disease in the lower respiratory tract that affects the lung tissue. Ceftriaxone and Gentamicin antibiotics are the most numerous and good for use in the treatment of pneumonia, but of the two antibiotics is not yet known the options for more cost effective treatment, so it needs to be done the cost effectiveness analysis in order to facilitate the selection of more cost-effective treatment options especially in toddler. This study aims to determine which therapies are more cost-effective than the use of antibiotics Ceftriaxone and Gentamicin in pneumonia patients in the January-December 2018 period in the Bhayangkara Manado Hospital using descriptive research methods with retrospective data collection. The sample in this study were 22 patients, 12 patients using ceftriaxone antibiotics and 10 patients using gentamicin antibiotics. The results showed that pneumonia treatment in infants using Ceftriaxone antibiotics was more cost-effective with ACER ceftriaxone value of Rp. 503,872 / day and ICER value of Rp. 145,588 / day.Keywords : Antibiotics, CEA (Cost-Effectiveness Analysis), Pharmacoeconomy, Toddler Pneumonia. ABSTRAKPneumonia merupakan penyakit infeksi pada saluran pernapasan bagian bawah yang mengenai jaringan paru. Antibiotik Seftriakson dan Gentamisim yang paling banyak dan baik untuk digunakan dalam pengobatan pneumonia, namun dari kedua antibiotik tersebut belum diketahui pilihan terapi yang lebih cost-effective, sehingga perlu dilakukan analisis efektivitas biaya agar dapat mempermudah dalam pemilihan alternatif pengobatan yang lebih cost-effective khususnya pada balita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan terapi yang lebih cost-effective dari penggunaan antibiotik Seftriakson dan Gentamisin pada pasien pneumonia rawat inap periode Januari-Desember 2018 di Rumah Sakit Bhayangkara Manado dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pengambilan data secara retrospektif. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 22 pasien yaitu 12 pasien menggunakan antibiotik Seftriakson dan 10 pasien menggunakan antibiotik Gentamisin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengobatan pneumonia pada balita menggunakan antibiotik Seftriakson lebih cost-effective dengan nilai ACER seftriakson sebesar Rp. 503,872/hari dan nilai ICER sebesar Rp. 145.588/hari.Kata Kunci : Pneumonia Balita, Antibiotik, CEA (Cost-Effectiveness Analysis), Farmakoekonomi
