AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI SALEP EKSTRAK DAUN KEMBANG SEPATU (Hibiscus rosa sinensis L.) TERHADAP LUKA YANG TERINFEKSI BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus PADA KELINCI (Oryctolagus cuniculus)Paulina V. Y. Because that since the society has used various plant as drug for cure disease . The one plants that are hereditary has been used as drug traditional for treat wounds infection is Hibiscus leaf ( Hibiscus rosa sinensis L.). its have been done research about antibacterial activity by Moh . Andrianto (2007) and give results that Hibiscus leaf extract have antimicrobials activity to Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria shown with concentration minimum inhibitory for Staphylococcus aureus bacteria by 12.5% and for Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria by 25%. This is lead the researchers for do the more continue testing about antibacterial activity of Hibiscus leaf ( Hibiscus rosa sinensis L.) extract  ointment has antibacterial activity to infected wounds Staphylococcus aureus bacteria on rabbit ( Oryctolagus cuniculus ). The method used is experiments laboratory method. Based on results research obtained that Hibiscus leaf extract ointment with concentrations 10%, 12.5% and 15% were filled requirement testing of ointment that includes Organolaptic test, pH test and power spread test. While for Homogeneity test has no find requirement . The results of antimicrobials test to infected wounds Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with concentrations 10%, 12.5% and 15% pointing that Hibiscus leaf extract ointment have healing effect to infected wounds Staphylococcus aureus bacteria this showed with shrink it wounds on rabbit from day 2 to day 4 and day 5 has closed.Keywords : Hibiscus leaf extract ointment, wounds infection and antibacterialABSTRAKHidup sehat merupakan kebutuhan utama setiap individu dalam hidupnya. Oleh karena itu sejak dahulu masyarakat telah banyak menggunakan berbagai tanaman sebagai obat untuk menyebuhkan penyakit. Salah satu tanaman yang secara turun-temurun telah digunakan masyarakat sebagai obat tradisional untuk mengobati luka infeksi adalah daun kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa sinensis L.). Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai aktivitas antibakteri daun kembang sepatu oleh Moh. Andrianto (2007) dan memberikan hasil bahwa ekstrak daun kembang sepatu memiliki aktivitas antimikroba terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa yang ditunjukkan dengan konsentrasi hambat minimum untuk bakteri Staphylococcus aureus sebesar 12,5 % dan untuk bakteri Pseudomonas aeruginosa sebesar 25 %.Hal inilah yang mendorong peneliti untuk melakukan pengujian lebih lanjut mengenai aktivitas antibakteri sediaan salep ekstrak daun Kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa sinensis L.) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap luka yang terinfeksi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada kelinci (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Metode yang digunakan ialah metode eksperiman laboratorium. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa salep ekstrak daun Kembang sepatu dengan konsentrasi 10%, 12,5% dan 15 % memenuhi syarat pengujian salep yang meliputi uji Organolaptik, Uji pH dan Uji daya sebar. Sedangkan untuk Uji Homogenitas tidak memenuhi syarat. Hasil uji antimikroba terhadap luka yang terinfeksi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan konsentrasi 10%, 12,5% dan 15 % menunjukaan bahwa salep ekstrak etanol daun Kembang sepatu memiliki efek penyembuhan terhadap luka yang terinfeksi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus hal ini ditunjukan dengan mengecilnya luka sayat pada kelinci dari hari ke 2 sampai hari ke 4 dan hari ke 5 telah menutup..Kata kunci : Salep ekstrak daun Kembang Sepatu, luka infeksi dan antibakteri.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kersen leaf (Muntingia calabura L.) contains flavonoids, saponins and tannins, which could inhibit bacterial activity. This study aimed to formulate, evaluate, and to test the effectiveness of antibacterial preparations for the Kersen leaf ethanol extracts mask.  This study uses the experimental method by testing the parameters of the physical evaluation requirements for the masker. Physical evaluation of preparations included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, scattering power test, dry time test, sticky test and cycling test, all tests were carried out before and after cycling test. The results of the preparation study meet the requirements of physical evaluation before the cycling test but after the cycling test is is not in accordance to the requirements for the preparation of the peel-off mask. The antibacterial test of mask peel-off ethanol extract of Kersen's leaves on Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria produced a moderate inhibition. So it can be concluded that the ethanol extracts of Kersen leaves at a concentration of 20%.  can be formulated as a peel-off mask that is physically stable and has moderate antibacterial activity. Keywords: Kersen, Peel-off mask, Antibacterial, Staphlococcous epidermidis  ABSTRAK Daun Kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tannin yang mampu menghambat aktivitas bakteri.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi, mengevaluasi, serta menguji efektivitas antibakteri sediaan masker peel-off ekstrak etanol daun Kersen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimental dengan melakukan pengujian parameter persyaratan evaluasi fisik masker peel-off. Evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji waktu sediaan mengering, uji daya lekat dan uji cycling test semua pengujian dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test. Hasil penelitian sediaan memenuhi persyaratan eveluasi fisik sebelum uji cycling test namun setelahnya tidak sesuai dengan persyaratan sediaan masker peel-off. Penelitian uji antibakteri masker peel-off ekstrak etanol daun Kersen pada bakteri staphylococcus epidermidis menghasilkan daya hambat yang sedang. Dapat disimpulkan pada kosentrasi 20% ekstrak etanol daun Kersen dapat diformulasi sebagai sediaan masker peel-off yang stabil secara fisik dan memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang sedang .  Kata kunci : Kersen, Masker peel-off, Antibakteri, Staphlococcous  epidermidis

Abstract

Crinum asiaticum L. is a plant that has antibacterial activity toward Staphylococcusaureusbacteria, which is one of the pathogen bacteria that causing the acnes. This researchpurposed for made extract bulbs of Crinum asiaticum L. formula gel and tasted the physicalcharacteristic toward Staphylococcus aureus. The formulation of extract bulbs of Crinumasiaticum L. is made with variety of extract concentration, which 1%, 5%, and 10% withCMC-Na as the basic. Negative control used basis gel and positive control used Erymed® gel(Erytromicin 2%). Gel that is produced by physically tested covers: organoleptis,homogeneity, pH, dispersive power, and consistency. Antibacterial activity tested is done bydiffusion method. Antibacterial activities data that are obtained by one way ANOVA withstandard trust is 95%. The result of this research showed that extract bulbs of Crinumasiaticum L. had antibacterial activities with average resistibility zone diameter for 1% (8,3mm) extract concentration, 5% (11,3 mm) extract concentration, 10% (16 mm) extractconcentration, positive control (32 mm), and negative control (0 mm). Positive controlcounted as vey strong resistibility, extract concentration 5% and 10% counted as strongresistibility, extract concentration 1% counted as fair resistibility and negative control notgiven antibacterial activities.Key words: extract bulbs of Crinum asiaticum L., CMC-Na, antibacterial, Staphylococcusaureus.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Urinary tract infections are a clinical condition due to the presence of microorganisms in the urine and the potential for invasion of the upper urinary tract, invading the renal pelvic mucosa and extending into the interstitial tissues of the kidneys. Urinary tract infections treated with antibiotics are one of the significant cost categories in the pharmaceutical budget in hospitals. The purpose of this study was to determine a more cost effective therapy between the use of Ceftriaxone and Ciprofloxacin in UTI patients hospitalized at Bhayangkara Hospital, Manado. This study uses a descriptive research method with retrospective data collection. The sample in this study were 36 patients including 15 patients using Ceftriaxone and 21 patients using Ciprofloxacin. The results showed that the most cost-effective  antibiotic was Ceftriaxone with an ACER value of IDR 781,890 and ICER value of IDR 551,255. Keywords: Cost Effectiveness Analysis, Urinary Tract Infections, Ceftriaxone, Ciprofloxacin. ABSTRAK Infeksi saluran kemih adalah keadaan klinis akibat adanya mikroorganisme dalam urin dan berpotensi untuk invasi ke saluran kemih bagian atas, menginvasi mukosa pelvis ginjal dan meluas ke dalam jaringan interstisial ginjal. Infeksi saluran kemih diobati dengan antibiotik yang menjadi salah satu kategori biaya yang signifikan dalam anggaran farmasi di rumah sakit. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan terapi yang lebih cost effective antara penggunaan Seftriakson dan Siprofloksasin pada pasien ISK rawat inap di RS Bhayangkara Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pengambilan data secara retrospektif. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 36 pasien diantaranya15 pasien menggunakan Seftriakson dan 21 pasien menggunakan Siprofloksasin. Hasil penelitian menunjukan, antibiotik yang paling cost-effective adalah Seftriakson dengan nilai ACER sebesar Rp. 781.890 dan nilai ICER sebesar Rp. 551.255. Kata Kunci : Analisis Efektivitas Biaya, Infeksi Saluran Kemih, Seftriakson, Siprofloksasin.

Abstract

ABSTRACTJackfruit leaves is a plant that work as medicine on healing process of skin diseases,especially in wounds. The purpose of this study is to determine the quality of ointment fromethanolic extract of Jackfruit leaves at the concentration on 5%, 10% and 15% and the effectof the open wound healing in rabbits. Type of this research is laboratory experimental. In thisresearch maceration was done as the extraction method to got the extract of Jackfruit leaves.The ointment of ethanolic extract from jackfruit leaves made within 3 concentrations of 5%,10% and 15%. On the testing ointment using organoleptic test, homogenity test and pH test.The effectiveness assay to heal the open wounds using 5 groups, Betadine ointment (positivecontrol), basic ointment (negative control), the ointment of ethanolic extract from Jackfruitleaves 5%, 10%, and 15% of the 3 rabbits with a 1.5 cm was done and observed until 7 days.The data were processed statistically using One Way ANOVA (Analysis Of Variant) andfollowed by LSD (Least Significant Different). Results of this study showed that the ointmentof ethanolic extract from Jackfruit leaves on the concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% producequalified ointment of organoleptic test, homogenity test and pH test, also give the effect ofopen wound healing in rabbits and the most effective cure is the ointment of ethanolic extractfrom Jackfruit leaves 15%.Keywords: ethanolic extract of Jackfruit leaves, ointment, wound, rabbit.

Yamlean1) dan Widdhi Bodhi1)1)Program Studi Farmasi FMIPA UNSRAT Manado, 95115 ABSTRACT Basil leaf has active compounds such as essential oils, alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids , triterpenoids , steroids, tannins and phenols. Some of these chemical ingredients can inhibit the growth of Escherichiacoli , Staphylococcus aureus , and Klebsiellapneumonia bacteria such as alkaloid compounds, atsiridan oil and phenols. The aim of this research is to formulate the liquid soap from the ethanol extract of Basil leaf and to test the antibacterial effectiveness of liquid soap from the ethanol extract of Basil leaf with concentration of 3%, 6% and 9% to Staphylococcus aureus bacteria growth. Liquid soap formulations from the ethanol extract of Basil leaf with concentration 3%, 6% and 9% then done by organoleptic test, pH, high foam, moisture content, free alkali and weight type test. Testing of antibacterial effectiveness on growth of Staphylococcus aureus was done by diffusion method. The results of quality test of liquid soap that meets the requirements according to standard of SNI were organoleptic test, pH, high foam, moisture content, free alkali and weight type test. The results of antibacterial effectiveness test of liquid soap from the ethanol extract of Basil leaf obtained that can inhibit Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, that is with concentration 3%, 6% and 9% which fall into category of strong inhibition zone. Formulasi sabun cair ekstrak etanol daun Kemangi dengan konsentrasi 3%, 6% dan 9% dilakukan pengujian organoleptik, pH, tinggi busa, kadar air, kadar alkali bebas dan bobot jenis. Pengujian efektivitas antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan Staphylococcus aureus dilakukan dengan metode difusi. Hasil pengujian mutu sabun cair yang memenuhi persyaratan sesuai standar yang ditetapkan SNI ialah uji organoleptik, pH, tinggi busa, kadar air, kadar alkali bebas dan bobot jenis. Hasil uji efektivitas antibakteri sabun cair ekstrak etanol daun Kemangi yang diperoleh dapat menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, yakni dengan konsentrasi 3%, 6% dan 9% masuk dalam kategori zona hambat yang kuat.Kata Kunci: Daun Kemangi, Sabun Cair, Uji Efektivitas Antibakteri

Abstract

Crops Cassava (Manihot esculenta) contains carbohydrates, phosphorus, calcium, vitaminC, protein, iron and vitamin B1 can provide a healing effect on wounds. The content contained incassava able to give effect to the skin re-epithelialization of damaged tissues due to burns. Thisstudy aims to determine the effectiveness of the test extract tubers Cassava (Manihot esculenta) inthe dosage form of a cream with the concentration level of 2%, 4%, and 8% for burn woundhealing in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Making cream formulation using cassava tuber extractoil phase in water and used as test animals 10 rabbits, divided into 5 treatment groups, namely, testthe cream treatment group, negative control group (basic cream) and a positive control group(Bioplacenton). Burns in the back with a diameter of 1.5 cm were treated and observed the healingeffects for 7 days. The results showed that from day-1 to day-7 observations burns suffereddiminution in diameter. It was concluded that the concentration of 2% cassava extract cream hashealing effect and increasing the concentration of 4% and 8% contained showed more effectiveand speed up the healing process.Keywords: cream, extract, cassava tubers, healing burns, rabbit

Abstract

ABSTRACTSuffer from worms is a chronic and endemic disease caused by parasite worm in high prevalence, notdeadly, but gnaw the health of the people therefore decrease the nutrient. The purposes of thisresearch are to know the effect of anthelmintic from infusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassia alata L.)toward Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) and to know the effectiveness of infusion KetepengChinese leaf (Cassia alata L.) to get the anthelmintic effect toward Roundworms (Ascarislumbricoides). This research, used experiment method in order to know the anthelmintic effectinfusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassia alata L.) by 20%, 40% and 80% concentration in comparisonwith pirantel pamoate solution (combantrin®) as a positive control and NaCl solution 0,9% asnegative control. The result of the research can showed that infusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassiaalata L.) by 20%, 40% and 80% concentration is proved to gave anthelmintic effect towardRoundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) which get paralysis after 24 hours observation. Effective valuefrom infusion Ketepeng Chinese leaf (Cassia alata L.) which gives anthelmintic effect toward2Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) is in 20% concentration. This concentration shows thatRoundworms gets paralysis, which is at 12th up to 18th hour, after being given treatment the wormsmovement is getting low and becoming slow and at the 24th hour Roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides)gets paralysis, but it take much longer times than the concentration of 80% that have shownanthelmintic effects at the 12th hour.Keyword : Infusion, Ketepeng Chinese Leaf (Cassia alata L.), Anthelmintic Effect.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Binahong leaf as traditional medicine possess antibacterial activity. The aims of this research were to study the effectivity of Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) leaf extract ointment on wound infected with Staphylococcus aureus, and to study the differences effectivity of Binahong leaf extract ointment (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) as antibacterial with concentration 10%, 20% and 40%. This research using laboratory experimental method. The subjects in these research were 5 rabits which divided into 5 groups, namely negative control, positive control and treatments group with concentration 10%, 20% and 40% of Binahong leaf extract ointment. Rabits back were wounded 2,5 cm and infected with Staphylococcus aureus. Research and statistical results shows that Binahong leaf extract ointment possess wound healing effectivity to the wound infected with Staphylococcus aureus. At concentration 10%, it already exhibit healing effectivity, although concentration 20% and 40% shows more healing effectivity. The increases of concentration of Binahong leaf extract ointment effectively heal the wound infected with Staphylococcus aureus.   Key words : Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.)
