Abstract

ABSTRACTBeach Morning Glory is a plant that grew around the beach which has purple flower. BeachMorning Glory leaves contains chemical compounds such Flavonoids, Hydroquinonephenolic, alkaloids, and Tannins. Beach Morning Glory leaves has known as the medicine ofacne and furunkulosis that caused by Staphylococcus aureus. The topical product is needed toheal the skin infection. The purpose of this research were to test about physical quality ofcream based and Beach Morning Glory cream extract at the concentration between 2,5 %, 5%, and 7,5%. The result shows the cream base and Beach Morning Glory cream withconcentration of 2,5 %, 5 %, and 7,5 % fulfilled the Organoleptic and Homogenity test butwas not fulfilled in the standart parameter of pH and spreadabillity.Keywords : Ipomoea pes-caprae (L.) Abstract

Many ornamental plant growing in tropical and subtropical regions one is Hibiscus which is a native plant from East Asia. Conditioner is one of semi solid preparation used to hair after using shampoo. The porpose of the research is getting formulation hair conditioner from Hibiscus with various concentration. This research is a descriptive analytic in the laboratory. Conditioner making with mix oil phase and melted water. The indrediens to be use are dimethicone, sethyl alcohol, stearic acid, TEA, glycerin, methyl paraben, propyl paraben and aquadest. Physical stability tests carried out were organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test and cream type test with various concentrations of hibiscus leaf mucus which were 15%, 20%, 25% and 30%, and as a comparison were the formulations of conditioner preparations without using hibiscus mucus . The results showed that the manufacture of conditioner with variations in the concentration of mucilage of hibiscus leaves (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) and physical stability testing on formula 4 shows stable and softer textured results. The conclusion obtained is that formulas 1, 2, 3 and 4 have met the requirements of semi-solid preparations.

Abstract

Tanaman Kayu Kambing Garuga floribunda,Decne merupakan tanaman yang banyak terdapat di wilayah Sulawesi Utara yang belum banyak diteliti. Penelusuran metabolit sekunder daun tanaman kayu kambing menggunakan metode maserasi dengan etanol 70% . Kemudian dipartisi dengan menggunakan n-heksan. Ekstrak yang diperoleh pada fase etanol dan n-heksan kemudian diuji metabolit sekunder dan antibakterinya dengan menggunakan bakteri Eschericia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus. Metabolit sekunder fase etanol diperoleh hasil positif pada senyawa metabolit sekunder Alkaloid, Saponin, Flavonoid, Steroid dan Tanin sedangkan fase n-heksan hasil positif pada Alkaloid dan Steroid. Aktivitas antibakteri pada E.coli memberikan zona hambat rata-rata 8,7 mm, pada Staphylococcus aureus zona hambat terbesar rata-rata 10,2 mm.

Abstract

Pain is a defense mechanism of the body and caused by tissue damage to the body due to injury, accident or medical action. Traditionally, cashew leaves were used in curing inflammation, pain, toothache, wound healing, rheumatism as well as dysentery. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of analgetic power of cashew leaf ethanol extract (Anacardium occidentale L.) in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The research conducted is experimental research, with chemical excitatory methods. The test animals were divided into 5 groups with each treatment of 3 mice. Group I Na CMC 1%, group II Paracetamol, group III cashew leaf ethanol extract 10%, group IV cashew leaf ethanol extract 20%, and group V cashew leaf ethanol extract 40% given orally. Pain inductors are 1% induced acetic acid intraperitonially. Observed the amount of mice geliat for 1 hour and calculated percent analgetic power. The results obtained in this study have properties as analgetics with analgetic power concentration of 10%: 82.73%, concentration of 20%: 84.89%, and concentration of 40%: 88.48%.

Abstract

Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffal L.) contains anthocyanins which can be used as natural dyes and at the same time as an antioxidant that functions as an antidote to free radicals. The aim of this research was to formulate and test the physical characteristics of the blush on cream preparation from the essence of Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) as a natural dye. This type of research is an experiment in the laboratory. The extract of Rosella calis flower is crushed and the filtrate is taken by extracting it. The extract is made into blush on cream preparations with a concentration of 20%, 40% and 60%. The organoleptic test results of blush on cream on the control were soft textured, white, smelled like cream, soft-textured F1, ivory white, Rosella flower-like smell, soft-textured F2, light cream colored, Roselle flower-like smell, and F3 small granular texture pink color, distinctive smell of Rosella flower, homogeneity test on homogeneous control, homogeneous F1, homogeneous F2, and not homogeneous F3, control pH test values: 6, F1: 6, F2: 6, F3: 4, control spreadability test: 6 , 3 cm, F1: 5.7 cm, F2: 5 cm, F3: 4.5 cm, control adhesion test: 4.42 seconds, F1: 4.21 seconds, F2: 4.19 seconds, F3: 4.12 seconds and emulsion type test on control: M / A, F1: M / A, F2 M / A, F3: M / A. The formulation and physical characteristics test of blush cream from the extract of Rosella flower petals (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) cannot be formulated as a blush cream preparation and does not have good characteristics, one of which is the exposure to light and heating during the formulation.

Abstract

Turi (Sesbania grandiflora L) is native to Southeast Asia. This plant is used as a medicinal plant and also a vegetable. Turi (Sesbania grandiflora L) is a plant that is efficacious for the treatment of various diseases such as analgesic, antipyretic, diuretic and laxative. The purpose of this study was to identify the content of secondary metabolites in turi leaf extract extracted with ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane as solvents. This research was conducted in two stages, namely extraction by maceration method using ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane as solvents. And the identification stage of secondary metabolites consisting of identification of alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, saponins and flavonoids. The results showed that the positive ethanol and ethyl acetate extracts contained flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids and steroids, while the negative n-hexane extract contained secondary metabolites.

Abstract

Fever can be interpreted as a body temperature that is higher (>37°C) than normal temperature because of the temperature control center in the hypothalamus, the temperature control center balances temperature during health or fever by regulating the formation and release of heat. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to determine the antipyretic effectiveness of various concentrations of extracts. In this study, 5% peptone was used to induce fever in 15 white rats which were divided into 5 treatment groups. Groups 1 was given 1% NaCMC as a negative control, groups 2 was given paracetamol 9 mg/200gBB) as a positive control, groups 3 was given 10% lire leaf extract (2 mg/200gBB), groups 4 was given 20% lire leaf extract (4 mg/200gBB), and groups 5 was given 40% lire leaf extract (8 mg/200gBB). This results of this study obtained extract levels of 7,44% and there was a weak antipyretic effect at concentrations of 10% and 20% lire leaf extract, while the greatest antipyretic effect was found in 40% lire leaf extract, almost comparable to 9 mg paracetamol.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Jamu merupakan salah satu obat bahan alam Indonesia dengan presentase konsumen sebanyak 59,12%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya Bahan Kimia Obat Fenilbutazon dalam sediaan jamu rematik yang beredar di kota Manado. Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang identifikasi Fenilbutazon dalam jamu rematik dengan metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT). Fase gerak yang di gunakan pada KLT ialah n-Heksan : kloroform : metanol (60:30:10) dan fase diam yang digunakan ialah pelat KLT silika gel GF254 dengan menggunakan penyemprotan H2SO4 10% untuk menampakan bercak. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan pada pelat KLT, nilai Rf standar Fenilbutazon yaitu 0,51 sedangkan sampel tidak muncul bercak sehingga nilai Rf-nya yaitu 0. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pada sediaan jamu rematik tersebut tidak mengandung Fenilbutazon.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kembang sepatu merupakan tanaman semak suku malvaceae yang berasal dari Asia Timur dan banyak ditanam sebagai tanaman hias di daerah tropis dan subtropis. Salah satu khasiatnya adalah sebagai antipiretik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas antipiretik ekstrak etanol kulit batang kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa sinensis L) dan mengetahui konsentrasi efektif ekstrak etanol kulit batang kembang sepatu pada tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus). Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen laboratorium dengan design pre-test post test with control group. Hewan uji yang digunakan sebanyak 15 ekor tikus putih yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan. Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 3 ekor tikus. Setiap kelompok diberikan larutan ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 50%, 25%, 12.5%, larutan parasetamol sebagai kontrol positif dan akuades sebagai kontrol negatif. Setiap 30 menit diukur suhu rektal tikus selama 180 menit pada kelompok perlakuan. Hasil uji statistik anova dua arah, menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit batang kembang sepatu memiliki efek antipiretik, dan pada konsentrasi 50% sangat efektif memberikan efek antipiretik.

Abstract

Background: Perlu adanya perhatian pada kelompok masyarakat yang berhubungan dengan pengetahuan kesehatan agar masyarakat memiliki pemikiran sejak dini untuk memahami secara jelas tanda dan gejala dengan melakukan pemeriksaan ke layanan kesehatan baik puskesmas atau ke rumah sakit. Kegiatan ini bertujuan memperluas wawasan masyarakat setempat mengenai pentingnya menjaga kesehatan dengan melakukan pemeriksaan dasar, sehingga mampu menciptakan masyarakat yang sehat jasmani dan lingkungan yang bersih. Metode: Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode, yaitu: 1). Tahapan persiapan, 2). Tahapan pelaksanaan, 3). Tahapan evaluasi. Hasil: Atas kerja sama dari masyarakat, kader dan pemerintah penyuluhan ini berjalan dengan baik dan mendapat respon yang baik dari masyarakat setempat yang ikut serta dalam kegiatan. Dengan memberikan edukasi kesehatan kepada masyarakat yang terlibat baik secara kelompok atau individu yang di jelaskan mengenai hiperkolestrol, diabetes militus, hipertensi, gout artritis, dan kekurangan hemoglobin. Kesimpulan: Pada saat kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dalam melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan dan pengobatan gratis berlangsung dengan baik. Setelah kegiatan ini di harapkan mampu meningkatkan derajat kesehatan yang optimal.
