Abstract

This research aims to (1) help increase students' learning motivation in English subjects by growing students' interest in English songs (2) obtain evidence that the singing method can improve student learning outcomes in English subjects. To find out whether this method is effective or not, the author used pre-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The research was carried out using stages: Pre-test, Treatment and Post-test. Because the method used is a quantitative approach, to analyze the data the author used Linear Product Moment Regression Analysis, while to test the effect of treatment on the sample the authors used the paired sample t test. The results of data analysis show that the correlation coefficient value rxy is 0.659. This means that the regression correlation coefficient value of students' interest in English songs is 0.659, which has a positive sign, meaning that the higher the students' interest in English songs, the higher the students' interest in English songs student learning outcomes will be. The validity test results of all questionnaire items have Pearson Correlation ® values > 0.3494 then it can be concluded that all items are valid. Meanwhile, the results of the reliability test used Cronbach Alpha with a value of 0.839 > 0.6, which means that the questionnaire items in the instrument were reliable for use. From the results above, the hypothesis states Student’s interest in English Songs can improve the value of learning outcomes in English Subjects for class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Haurgeulis can be accepted

Abstract

Traditional games are a cultural heritage that is becoming less familiar to the younger generation, necessitating adaptive and relevant preservation media. This research developed the ready-to-wear clothing "Klakka," adapting the traditional game of congklak by representing congklak elements through cuts, decorations, motifs, and colors. This study aimed to test the feasibility of the ready-to-wear clothing "Klakka" as culture-based ready-to-wear clothing. The method used was descriptive quantitative, with the feasibility assessment processed as a percentage. Data collection used a feasibility assessment instrument assessed by three fashion expert validators. The instrument consisted of six indicators: design, size, sewing technique, aesthetics, performance, and uniqueness of the clothing. The results showed that the "Klakka" clothing achieved a feasibility score of 91%, which is classified as very feasible. These findings indicate that the application of cultural elements to ready-to-wear clothing can meet technical and aesthetic requirements and has potential for developing ent in the fashion industry targeting young consumers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between students' proficiency with vocabulary and their capacity to speak, as well as to gather evidence that this association is substantial. This research methodology is a kind of non-experimental research that employs quantitative techniques with a correlational model. The study was carried out on students in class VIII at SMPN 1 Kroya. Out of the 305 students in class VIII, a sample of 62 students or two classes were chosen; consequently, a cluster random sampling technique was utilized in the chosen classes. Tests of learning outcomes, documentation, English comprehension skills, and research instruments were used to gather research data throughout learning activities. A correlation test utilizing Pearson Product Moment Correlation is performed once all the analysis findings are normally distributed. The study's findings indicate a relationship between class VIII at SMPN 1 Kroya's speaking abilities and vocabulary mastery. The lowest scores for students' vocabulary mastery and speaking ability exams were 24 and 25 points. A correlation coefficient value of 0.969 was derived using the SPSS 23 program's computations. This indicates a strong correlation between the two variables, with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted if the significance test result is Sig < 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is then accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, indicating that there is a connection between students' speaking proficiency at SMPN 1 Kroya and their vocabulary competence.
