The dance variable is divided into two groups named the control and the experimental group, in this case the experimental group has been doing dance activity as a compulsory activity in schools. Data were analyzed by using Independent Sample T-Test. The validity test shows there are 20 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.384. The result of data analysis shows data distribution is normal and homogeneous. Independent Sample T-Test results t values 1.542 with a probability value 0.131 (p> 0.05). It means there is no significant effect of dancing Balih-balihan toward self-esteem of deaf adolescent in Bali. Keywords: Dancing Balih-balihan, self-esteem, deaf adolescent

Abstract

Indonesia darurat narkoba. Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan 6 kebutuhan psikologis pada pecandu narkoba yaitu need of aggression, need of abasement, need of affiliation, need of play, need of sex, need of succorance. Kata kunci: Kebutuhan psikologis, pecandu narkoba, rehabilitasi

Abstract

This study aims to understand how parents interpret experiences in assisting children with special needs to learn from home. This research method is phenomenological qualitative with data collection in the form of semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted online with three parents of children with special needs obtained by the purposive sampling method. The data obtained were then transcribed and analyzed by Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results showed that there were several superordinate themes, namely: (1) parents' views on the child's condition, (2) difficulties faced while accompanying children to study, (3) emotional experiences while accompanying children, (4) relationship and social support obtained and expected by parents, (5) worries and future expectation. In this study, parents conveyed their personal experiences and feelings in accompanying children while learning from home. This finding can contribute to the field of educational and clinical psychology as a basis for providing appropriate interventions for parents in assisting children with special needs to learn from home. Keywords: Children with special needs, learning from home, Covid-19, interpretative phenomenological analysis, parents' experience

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media use among adolescents has become a significant phenomenon that influences psychological development, particularly self-esteem. Adolescents often publicize themselves through photos and personal content on social media platforms, which can trigger social comparison. Such comparisons may positively or negatively affect self-esteem, leading individuals to feel more confident, inferior, or even jealous. This study aims to explore how social media use is associated with adolescent self-esteem through a narrative literature review. The review focuses on quantitative research articles published between 2019 and 2023 that examine self-esteem among adolescent social media users. A total of 255 articles were identified, of which 10 met the inclusion criteria and were selected for analysis. The selected articles were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns, similarities, and differences in research findings. The results indicate that social media use can lead to both high and low self-esteem among adolescents. High self-esteem is often associated with social recognition, positive feedback, and personal achievements displayed on social media. Conversely, low self-esteem may arise from negative social comparison and unmet expectations. These findings highlight that adolescence is a critical developmental period in which social media plays a substantial role in shaping self-esteem. Understanding these factors is essential for promoting healthier social media use among adolescents.

Abstract

This study addresses the psychosocial challenges of loneliness and social conflict among elderly residents at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya. The research aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the HARMONI intervention program in reducing loneliness and improving social interaction. Employing a quantitative pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design, the study involved six purposively selected elderly participants. Data were collected using the UCLA Loneliness Scale, non-participant observation, and semi-structured interviews. Data analysis included normality tests and paired samples t-tests for quantitative data, and triangulation for qualitative data. Results showed a statistically significant decrease in loneliness scores after the intervention, with participants demonstrating increased social engagement and positive behavioral changes. The findings suggest that the HARMONI program is beneficial for enhancing social connectedness and emotional well-being among institutionalized elderly. Future research should involve larger samples and longer intervention periods to strengthen generalizability and practical application.

Abstract

The increasing number of bullying cases in Indonesian educational environments has a serious impact on children's emotional, social, and creative development. This condition demands interventions that are not only curative but also preventative, by strengthening emotional bonds between children, peers, teachers, and parents. The Nusantara Arts Innovation Program (PISN), implemented in collaboration with the Kupu-Kupu Learning Center in Sidan, Gianyar, Bali, designed the Expressive Innovation Medium (MIE) as a collaborative arts approach that integrates art, design, and psychology to strengthen emotional engagement while encouraging creativity. The main activities included screenings of educational anti-bullying animations and a series of art activities: tie-dye, ecoprinting with natural dyes, paper waste processing, and painting on t-shirts with Balinese art and culture themes that are close to children's daily lives. This community service research used a descriptive qualitative approach through participatory observation, brief interviews with teachers and administrators, and documentation of the work and activity processes that were analyzed thematically. The results showed increased active participation, children's courage to express their opinions, the emergence of spontaneous discussions about bullying, and a warmer, more collaborative, and more supportive learning atmosphere. The resulting works showcased diverse and original explorations of color, shape, and local cultural motifs. Teachers and administrators considered MIE relevant as a medium for dialogue about empathy, diversity, and how to respond constructively to bullying. These findings strengthen the evidence that arts-based interventions and social-emotional learning can be effective preventative strategies to reduce the risk of bullying while fostering creativity, self-confidence, and social connectedness in children in non-formal education settings. Furthermore, the program has produced a model of good practice with the potential to be replicated in other educational institutions through the development of modules, thematic animations, and collaborative arts activity guides.
