Abstract

Abstract

Students need higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) to develop optimally and answer the challenges of the 21st century. In addition, HOTS also needs stimulation in the learning process to grow optimally, and the teacher's decision to stimulate HOTS is highly dependent on the teacher's attitude towards stimulating HOTS itself. Hence, the teacher's attitude towards stimulating HOTS must be revealed. However, until now, teachers' attitudes, especially in physical education, towards stimulating HOTS have not been identified with certainty due to the unavailability of valid and reliable instruments. This study aims to develop an instrument to measure physical education teachers' attitudes toward stimulating HOTS in student. This study used a research and development design with the development stages consisting of a content validity test, ICC test, construct validity, reliability test and concuren validity. Based on these tests, it can be stated that 29 statement items have met the validity and reliability standards. Hence, the PE-SHOTS questionnaire instrument developed in this study is suitable

Abstract

Research and publications on differentiation instruction in various subjects have developed rapidly in the world. Unfortunately, this trend is not directly proportional to the subject of physical education, even though differentiation instruction is the latest learning trend that is based on student learning needs. This research aims to analyze the metrics and visualization of differentiation instruction publications over the last ten years (2013-2023) using the literature review method. Google Scholar inspection using the Publish or Perish application only found nine articles (out of 16 articles) that met the VOSviewer visualization analysis criteria. As a result, the highest publication metrics were only three articles in 2014 and 53 citations as the highest top citations in 2019 for two articles. Network term differentiation is limited to three terms: analysis, lesson, and education. The VOSviewer visualization confirms that differentiation instruction has great potential to be developed in physical education to contribute to fulfilling students' learning experiences by their learning potential preferences. Future research can consider aspects of differentiation instruction that are not limited to teachers evaluating student learning outcomes based on differentiation instruction, and using differentiation instruction to improve various skills that help students survive in real life.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety is a major psychological factor that significantly affects the performance of college futsal players, so coaches need to understand anxiety. However, existing anxiety scales are not explicitly developed for futsal and often overlook critical pre-match external stressors, such as the opponent’s reputation and audience pressure, which are highly influential in the futsal environment. As a result, pressure in these areas is still ignored. Objective: To develop an instrument that can measure the pre-match anxiety scale for college futsal players (PMAS-CFP). Methods: This study employed an R&D design, incorporating content validity, ICC testing, construct validity, and reliability testing. Fourteen items were designed using three indicators: concentration impairment, somatic anxiety, and worry. Findings/Results: Psychometric testing showed strong content validity (Aiken’s V = 0.67-0.96), acceptable ICC (0.550), adequate construct validity (factor loadings = 0.60-0.82), high internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.922), good CFA loadings (0.667-0.946), composite reliability (CR = 0.965), and average variance extracted (AVE = 0.681). A total of 13 items met the required validity and reliability standards, consisting of concentration disorders (3 items), somatic anxiety (5 items), and worry (5 items). Conclusion: The PMAS-CFP is a valid and reliable tool for assessing pre-match anxiety in college futsal players, filling a gap in existing non-sport-specific anxiety measurements. This scale can help sports psychologists and coaches monitor athletes’ psychological readiness. Future studies are recommended to expand the use of this tool during and after matches, as well as to validate its use at broader levels of competition.
