Abstract

Abstract—This study reported the discovery and identification of behavioral syndrome of students’ indiscipline in teaching and learning process. For this purpose, researcher used qualitative approach of phenomenology. The study involved 9 subjects determined by purposive sampling for the phenomenon of indiscipline were more dominated by those subjects. Four techniques have been used to collect the data: participation-observation, in-depth interviews, field notes, and documentation. The results indicated that the behavioral syndrome of indiscipline is influenced by premature (imature) self-concept, determination of multidimensional environment, keeping and building a societal relationship in communities, as well as teachers’ attitude and behavior as a direct model. Therefore, teachers should give the exemplary cognition, affection, psychomotor, as well as should be truthful and orderly socially so that the students’ behaviour of indiscipline can be reduced to a good quality of learning.Keywords—Student’s behaviuor, indiscipline

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menghubungkan konsep diri akademik dengan kecemasan berkomunikasi peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Partisipan adalah peserta didik kelas F yang berjumlah 31 orang yang ditetapkan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Data konsep diri akademik dikumpulkan menggunakan Academic Self-Concept Questionnaire dari Woon C. Liu dan Chee K. J. Wang. Sedangkan data kecemasan berkomunikasi dikumpulkan menggunakan Personal Report of Communication Apprehension dari James C. McCroskey. Hasil uji deskriptif membuktikan konsep diri akademik partisipan tergolong tinggi (83,33%) dan kecemasan berkomunikasi partisipan tergolong cukup (48,39%). Partisipan dengan konsep diri akademik yang tinggi lebih mudah mengendalikan kecemasan berkomunikasinya dalam proses pembelajaran, termasuk group discussion, meeting, interpersonal, dan public speaking.Kata kunci: kecemasan berkomunikasi, konsep diri akademik

Abstract

This study aimed at improving the teaching skills of prospective physical education teachers by using the drill guide method. The design used was Classroom Action Research from S. Kemmis and R. McTaggart involving 41 research subjects. Data for each cycle were taken by using teaching skill observation guidelines and in-depth interviews. The data were analysed descriptively. The improvement of the subjects’ teaching skills from the Pre Cycle to Cycle 1 was  86,4%, from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2 was 12,8%, and from Cycle 2 to Cycle 3  was 16,7%. The fastest improving item was to wear clean and neat clothes (3,95) and the slowest one was to relate the material to other fields of science (2,46). From the result, it can be concluded that the drill guide method is one of the best methods that can be applied when educators (lecturers or teachers) are giving a skill guidance.

Abstract

Abstract: Playing activities and games in learning have helped students develop themselves holistically. They look highly expressive to cultivate their thoughts, behavior, and feelings during the play. The purpose of this research was to examine the impression of the game My ball-My friend toward the cooperation character of students. This research used One Group Pre-test Post-test Design involving 35 elementary school students with one-semester treatment. The data was collected using a questionnaire and was analyzed descriptively and t-test to categorize as well as to test the impression of the game My ball-My friend. The results prove that My ball-My friend game can impress students’ character cooperation through warming-up and cooling down activities at the same time with games, students are also taught that to be able to cooperate optimally, they must accept the various disparities of group members. Thus, My ball-My friend game activity can be a reference for teachers in developing students’ character  cooperation in learning activities. Keyword:, My ball-My friend, physical education, warming-up-cooling down Abstrak: Aktivitas bermain dan permainan dalam pembelajaran telah membantu siswa mengembangkan diri secara holistik. Mereka terlihat begitu ekspresif untuk menggerakan pikiran, perilaku, dan perasaannya selama bermain. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk menguji impresi permainan Bolaku-Temanku terhadap karakter kerjasama siswa. Penelitiannya menggunakan One Group Pre-test-Post-test Design yang melibatkan 35 siswa sekolah dasar dengan perlakuan selama satu semester. Data kerjasama siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis secara deskriptif dan t-test guna melakukan kategorisasi serta menguji impresi dari permainan Bolaku-Temanku. Hasil membuktikkan bahwa permainan Bolaku-Temanku dapat mengimpresi karakter kerjasama siswa melalui aktivitas warming-up dan cooling down sekaligus dengan permainan, siswa juga diajarkan bahwa untuk dapat bekerjasama secara maksimal, maka mereka harus saling menerima berbagai disparitas dari anggota kelompok. Dengan demikian, aktivitas permainan Bolaku-Temanku dapat menjadi satu referensi bagi guru dalam mengembangkan karakter kerjasama siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.  Kata kunci: Bolaku-Temanku, pendidikan jasmani, warming-up-cooling down

Abstract

Some students have successfully used goal–setting to maintain academic performance throughout their studies. Behind these successes, they implemented the strategy to the fullest, making their goals more manageable. This study explores the strategies of prospective physical education teachers using goal–setting to maintain academic performance. The research team used an exploratory qualitative approach to compare students’ experiences with good and bad academic reputations in maintaining academic performance through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. There were 11 students involved, both those with good academic reputations and vice versa. Spradley’s taxonomic analysis found that students had to reconstruct their way of learning because of traumatic experiences of academic failure and the economic limitations of the family. Goal–setting ensures that students complete their work on time and are more selective in using the clarity of information in lecturer learning designs. In addition, they reduce their learning challenges by learning and acting according to the assessment rubric, commit to each learning task and responsibility, use feedback to improve learning performance, and ensure all learning task needs by developing self–learning strategies.

Abstract

This research reports the assessment of academic self-concept of the first semester postgraduate students from education, language and literature study program of State University of Surabaya. This research used descriptive qualitative approach. Respondents involved were 20 students (M=25.2500, SD = 2.46822) in which the determination of the respondents were done by the use of the total sampling. The data were collected using the Academic Self-Concept Questionnaire (ASCQ) developed by Woon C. Liu and Chee K. J. Wang in 2005 by involving the two dimensions that is of academic-conviction and academic effort. The result of the analysis indicated that 13 students (65%) responded to the research questioners in the value of 80-100 and 7 students (35%) responded to the questionnaire in the value of 60-80 whereas in the value of 40-60, and of 0-20 was not responded by the students (0%) in the research questionnaire. Finally, it can be inferred that students’ academic self-concept are very good (65%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini melaporkan preferensi perilaku seksual remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis survei. Sampel yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 135 remaja semester V PJKR FKIP UKAW Kupang yang pernah atau sedang pacaran dan ditetapkan dengan teknik total sampling. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan skala Guttman, terdiri dari tujuh pertanyaan yang bersifat tertutup. Hasil analysis deskriptif menunjukkan preferensi perilaku seksual remaja adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Touching sebanyak 135 orang (100%); 2) Kissing sebanyak 121 orang (89,6%); 3) Necking sebanyak 102 orang (75,6%); 4) Petting sebanyak 99 orang (73,3%); 5) Oral sex sebanyak 39 orang (28,9%); dan 6) Sexual intercrouse sebanyak 90 orang (66,7%). Sedangkan 14 orang (10,4%) terjerat fenomena unwanted pregnancies. Dari hasil penelitian direkomendasikan agar para dosen melakukan pendampingan moral, emosional, dan sosial kepada remaja dalam proses pembelajaran serta mendorong remaja memaksimalkan potensinya  dalam kegiatan-kegiatan esktrakurikuler baik dalam konteks keagamaan, seni, olahraga, dsb.   Kata kunci: Perilaku, seksual, remaja.

Abstract

This study aims to assess teachers’ competence in learning process.  Research used is quantitative approach designed descriptively.  The research paticipant are 76 studens determined by proportional stratified random sampling technique (class A to F). The data for teaching competency were collected using questionnaire developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2015), involving 28 closed-statements with Likert scale model. The questionnaire was responded on a scale of 5 to 1 (very good/very high/always up to not good/very low/never). All data is processed by descriptive analysis using SPSS 20.00 for windows. The result is that the 9 courses which are assessed formatively by the participants indicated that the teaching competence is in the very high category (69%) so that it needs to be maintained and developed continuously.

Abstract

Guru SD Inpres Naikoten 1 Kupang telah memiliki sejumlah pengalaman mengajar selama era Covid-19, pengalaman ini penting untuk mereka difusikan agar menjadi stimulan yang baik kepada orang lain dalam menelaah bagaimana mengajar dari era pandemi sekaligus menguatkan komitmen pengabdian mereka dalam dunia pendidikan. Namun demikian, kendalanya mereka belum memiliki informasi dan keterampilan untuk menuliskan pengalaman tersebut dalam bentuk esai dan didifusikan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu peserta untuk mampu memahami, berkomitmen, dan terampil menulis esai sekaligus mempublikasikannya dalam bentuk buku ber-ISBN dengan menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, latihan, dan penugasan. Hasilnya dari 17 peserta, 16 peserta (94,11%) mampu menulis esai dan berhasil menjadikan buku ber-ISBN yang berjudul Mendulang Emas di Masa Pandemi Covid-19: Kumpulan Esai Guru Sekolah Ramah Anak SD Inpres Naikoten 1 Kupang. Seluruh kegiatan pengabdian, baik pelaksanaan dan serah terima buku telah dimuat dalam koran Pos Kupang.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan uji perbandingan motivasi berolahraga antara atlet atletik dan atlet tinju di Pusat Pendidikan dan Latihan Pelajar Provinsi Nusa Tengara Timur dengan melibatkan 26 orang sampel (13 atlet atletik dan 13 atlet tinju). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan The Sport Motivational Scale (SMS) yang dikembangkan oleh Luc G. Pelletier, Michelle Fortier, Robert J. Vallerand, Nathalle M. Briere, Kim M. Tuson, dan Marc R. Blais pada tahun 1995. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berolahraga atlet atletik dan tinju tergolong baik, masing-masing 69.2% dan 92.3%. Nilai rata-rata atlet tinju lebih tinggi daripada atlet atletik, namun nilai standar deviasi atlet atletik lebih tinggi daripada atlet tinju. Secara umum, tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata variabel motivasi berolahraga atlet atletik dan atlet tinju (0.703 0.05). Akan tetapi, pada sub variabel motivasi intrinsik-to experience stimulation, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (0.004 0.05) dari kedua kelompok sampel penelitian. Sport motivation of athletic and boxing athleetes AbstractThe objective of this research is to do a comparison test between athletic and boxing athletes’ sport motivation in Student Education and Training Center, East Nusa Tenggara  by involving 26 athletes as the sample  (13 athletic athletes and 13 boxing athletes).This research used quantitative approach with comparative design.  Data was collected using The Sport Motivation Scale (SMS) created by Luc G. Pelletier, Michelle Fortier, Robert J. Vallerand, Nathalle M. Brierre, Kim M. Tuson, and Marc R. Blas in 1995. The result indicates that the level of athletic and boxing athlete’s’ sport motivation was good, respectively 69.2% and 92.3%. The average value of the boxing athletes is higher than the athletic athletes while the standard deviation value of the athletic athletes is higher than the boxing athletes. Generally, there is no significant difference between sport motivation toward the two sample groups (0.703 0.05). However, there is a significant difference (0.004 0.05) in sub-variables of intrinsic motivation to experience stimulation from both research sample groups.
