Abstract

Inclusive economic growth is an important issue in Indonesia, given the country's uneven economic history and many social and economic inequalities. Despite significant economic progress in recent decades, many Indonesians still live in poverty and are marginalized from economic progress. The data used in this study are panel data from cross-sectional data, namely data from 34 provinces in Indonesia, and time series data, namely data from 2012–2021. The analysis technique used is panel data regression with the fixed effect model method. Based on the results of the study, it is clear that the relationship between poverty, unemployment, and economic inequality is negative and significant for inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. The analysis also emphasizes that efforts to achieve inclusive economic growth should focus on community empowerment, investment in education and training, inclusive infrastructure development, and policies focused on sustainable economic development.JEL Classification: I3, J64, D63, O47How to Cite: Yuanita, A., Ramadhan, D. Abstract

U.S. Quantitative Research policies significantly impact economic variables in Asia-Pacific, including inflation, interest rates, unemployment, and exchange rate depreciation, but the causal relationship remains unclear. Understanding these policies' impact is important for economic stability and growth amid global uncertainty. Using data from the World Bank and IMF, Granger's causality analysis was used to uncover the relationships between these variables. The findings show that U.S. inflation is unrelated to unemployment in the Asia-Pacific, but The Fed's interest rates correlate with inflation and unemployment in the region. Rising US interest rates could have a negative impact on unemployment, especially for countries that depend on foreign capital or have strong economic ties with the U.S. Policy recommendations include enhancing regional cooperation, implementing efficient monetary policy, diversifying the economy, investing in workforce education and training, and evaluating U.S. policies to maintain economic stability in the Asia-Pacific.

Abstract

The environmental issues that usually arise from mining activities are ex-coal mining lands in the form of mine pits (void) and land (non void) which are not managed properly. The company has an obligation to manage ex-coal mining land so that the environment remains sustainable and benefits the community by carrying out reclamation activities. Reclamation of ex-coal mining land by planting oil palm provides benefits in the form of incomes and as a carbon assimilator. This study aims to analyze the economics value of the ex-coal mining land use as a carbon assimilator by using the extended NPV analysis method. The result of analysis revealed a positive extended NPV value of IDR. 1,961,057,020,-, which means that ex-coal mining land can provide positive benefits as a carbon assimilator.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the spatial interaction of unemployment and poverty in general and locally and identify patterns and structures of economic growth on the islands of Sulawesi and Papua for the 2016-2020 period. The research method used is Moran Scatterplot, Local Indicator of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA) and Klassen Typology. Moran's Test showed on the poverty variable has a positive spatial autocorrelation and the unemployment variable has a negative spatial autocorrelation. The results of the LISA test mapped the poverty variable in 2016 into L-L criteria in Central Sulawesi Province and in 2020 in Central Sulawesi and South Sulawesi Provinces. Meanwhile the unemployment variable in 2016 maps Papua Province into L-L criteria, in 2020 Southeast Sulawesi Province is classified as H-H criteria and Papua Province is classified as L-H criteria. Klassen's analysis classifies two provinces in Quadrant I, five provinces in Quadrant III and one province in Quadrant IV.

Abstract

Rapid globalization, environmental shifts, and economic volatility have renewed interest in growth drivers of emerging economies. This study investigates the long-run and short-run impacts of natural resources, financial development, and trade openness on economic growth in emerging market economies. Using a quantitative approach and panel data spanning from 1997 to 2021, the research covers ten emerging countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Argentina, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, and Turkey. Data were sourced from the World Bank, and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model was employed to examine both short- and long-term dynamics. The empirical results reveal that natural resource rents negatively and significantly affect economic growth in both time horizons, indicating the persistence of the resource curse in these economies. Conversely, financial development and trade openness exhibit positive and significant effects on economic growth over the long and short run. The presence of cointegration confirms a stable long-run relationship among the variables. This study contributes to the literature by providing robust cross-country panel evidence supporting the notion that institutional and policy frameworks are critical in transforming natural resource wealth into sustainable growth. The findings imply that emerging markets must strengthen financial systems and pursue trade liberalization while implementing more effective governance of natural resources to mitigate their negative externalities and unlock long-term growth potential.

Abstract

Indonesia, the largest archipelagic country in the world with rich marine biodiversity, has significant potential for developing a blue economy encompassing aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, and maritime tourism. However, if not managed sustainably, these activities could increase CO2 emissions. Indonesia is also among the world's highest emitters of greenhouse gases, largely due to deforestation, forest burning for agriculture, and reliance on fossil fuels in the energy sector. Given global commitments to reducing emissions and mitigating climate change, this research explores how the blue economy and the transition to renewable energy can contribute to lowering CO2 emissions. This study examines both short- and long-term impacts using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach. The findings reveal that while increased aquaculture production initially reduces CO2 emissions due to efficiency gains and environmentally friendly technologies, its long-term effects are more complex and may lead to higher emissions. On the other hand, renewable energy consumption significantly reduces CO2 emissions in the short and long term. Conversely, higher energy intensity contributes to increased CO2 emissions, which can be mitigated through improved energy efficiency.

Abstract

The implementation of regional governance through fiscal decentralization, particularly in the management of Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), demonstrates that regional fiscal autonomy can effectively enhance community welfare under a decentralized government structure. Using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method with panel data for the period 2010–2024, this study provides empirical evidence that community welfare—measured by the growth of real Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita—is significantly and positively influenced by several key factors. These include Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD) with a coefficient of 0.258, Transfer Funds to Regions and Village Funds (TKDD) with a coefficient of 0.046, the Human Development Index (HDI) with a coefficient of 0.070, and Regional Investment (FDI) with a coefficient of 0.006. However, the study also identifies challenges to sustaining real GRDP growth per capita, particularly from interest rates and income inequality, which exhibit significant negative relationships with coefficients of –0.202 and –0.011, respectively. These findings suggest that disparities in population income distribution and fluctuations in borrowing costs can hinder regional economic performance. To address these challenges, regional governments must adopt fiscal incentive policies that stimulate revenue generation and investment while prioritizing human resource development. Moreover, closer collaboration with central banking authorities is essential to manage monetary policy—especially in controlling interest rates—to maintain stability and ensure balanced, inclusive regional growth.

Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzed the impact of government size in the field of infrastructure on digital inequality in Indonesia. Method: This study uses panel data analysis with the CEM, FEM, and REM approaches using research samples from the Central Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Finance, and International Telecommunication Union in Indonesia. Results: The results of this study indicate that government-sized infrastructure has a negative and significant effect on the ICT Index, while the square government-sized infrastructure/infrastructure expenditure optimization effect has a positive and significant impact on the ICT Index, and the implementation of the infrastructure budget supports digital equity; therefore, it is necessary to have an equal distribution of infrastructure in all corners in order to proportionally increase the allocation of the infrastructure budget. This means that the size of the government is still too small to equalize the increase in the ICT development index. Based on the government size threshold, the average for each province in Indonesia reached 68 percent. Limitations: This study was limited to the national level of each region in Indonesia. Contributions: This study aims to serve as a reference for government considerations in strategic policies related to infrastructure spending and issues of the technology change strategy.
