Abstract

This study aims to analyze how economic growth, urbanization, energy consumption influenced to CO2 Emissions in Countries that are members of the G-20. In this study using time-series data for the period 1990 – 2020; the data utilized are sourced from World Bank database and BP Statistic. The methode uses a quantitative approach that applies the STIRPAT methode with the fixed effect methode panel data regression. The results of the study state that economic growth with GDP per capita has a positive and significant effect, meanwhile GDP per capita squared has a negative and significant on CO2 Emissions. So that it can prove the EKC hypothesis with an inverted U-Curve relationship between economic growth and CO2 Emissions. Urbanization and Energy Consumption has a positive and significant effect on CO2 Emissions.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the inequality of per capita consumption expenditure in South Sumatra, the influence of per capita GRDP, education level, population dependency ratio, and Human Development Index among districts/cities in South Sumatra during the period 2012-2023. The research method used is quantitative, with a regression analysis approach to test hypotheses about the relationship between the mentioned variables. Data were obtained from official sources of the South Sumatra Statistics Indonesia (BPS), covering consumption expenditure inequality, education level percentage, population dependency ratio, and the Human Development Index. The results of the analysis show that districts/cities in South Sumatra are categorized as moderately unequal between 0.25-0.35, however, Pali Regency, Musi Rawas Utara Regency, and Musi Rawas Regency have low inequality values < 0.25, while Palembang City and Lubuk Linggau City are almost approaching the very unequal criteria with values of 0.34 and 0.33 respectively. In the estimation of the multiple regression model from 4 (four) independent variables, there are 3 (three) variables that significantly influence per capita consumption expenditure, namely: Population Education Percentage (ED), Population Dependency Ratio (DR), and Human Development Index (IPM).

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s leading exporter of palm oil, fulfilling approximately 52% of global demand. The export of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) serves as a strategic component of the country's agro-based industry and remains the largest contributor to non-oil and gas foreign exchange earnings. Despite its significance, there remains limited empirical research examining the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Domestic Investment (DI), and the exchange rate on Indonesia’s CPO export value, particularly over the period 2000 to 2024. This study aims to fill that gap by employing secondary time series data sourced from the World Bank, Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik), and Bank Indonesia. The research applies a multiple linear regression analysis using the EViews 12 statistical software. The results reveal that FDI has a positive and statistically significant effect on Indonesia’s CPO export value. In contrast, Domestic Investment and the exchange rate show no significant partial influence. However, when analyzed simultaneously, FDI, DI, and exchange rate collectively exert a significant impact on CPO export performance. Furthermore, the analysis of export value trends from 2000 to 2024 shows a generally positive trajectory, highlighting the continued importance of policy support and investment in maintaining Indonesia's dominance in the global palm oil market.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically analyze the literature related to regional inequality in six provinces in Java. The study focused on the use of five inequality indicators: Gini Coefficient, Atkinson Index, Theil Index, Robin Hood Index, and Williamson Index. This study also explores the relationship between inequality and development factors such as Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP), Per Capita Income (GDP), and Human Development Index (HDI). Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach which refers to the PRISMA protocol, as many as 25 articles from 2010–2024 were analyzed thematically. The findings show that increasing HDI significantly reduces inequality, while increasing PDRPC without fair distribution actually widens the gap. This article contributes to formulating regional development policy recommendations based on spatial justice and quality of life. Abstract

This study examines the impact of natural resource depletion, economic growth, and income inequality on CO₂ emissions in Indonesia from 1990 to 2021. Utilizing time series data from the World Bank, the analysis employs the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to simultaneously assess both short- and long-run relationships among the variables, while also testing the validity of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis. The results reveal that natural resource depletion, economic growth, and income inequality all have a positive and statistically significant effect on CO₂ emissions in both the short and long term. Furthermore, the findings provide strong empirical support for the existence of an inverted U-shaped EKC in Indonesia, indicating that emissions initially rise with income but eventually decline beyond a certain income threshold. These results underscore the crucial need for comprehensive policy frameworks that effectively integrate economic development, environmental sustainability, and social equity. In particular, the significant role of resource depletion necessitates prioritizing sustainable resource management strategies—such as forest conservation, responsible mining practices, and improved resource efficiency—to mitigate environmental degradation.
