Abstract

The data collection method applied on this research are observatian, interview, test, and dokumentation. Data analysis that is used in this research are1) implementation of learningBruner, 2) the percentageof teachersandstudentsin teaching and learning. From the observation result, teaching and learning process pertained to the active criteria and increased from cycle 1 to cycle 2. From the final test in cycle 1, the value of classical completeness is 0% and the value of classical completeness in cycle 2 is 80%. The classical completness in cycle 2 increased compared with the first cycle. So, from these result it can be concluded that the application of Brunerlearningusinglearning theoryintriangulartopicscanincreasestudentsmathachievement. Abstract

Abstract. The Using of unsuitable learning model will result unoptimal learning. To avoid this, the teacher should be careful enough in selecting and using learning models, especially involve students actively. The result of information obtained from interviews with mathematic teacher, the assessment carried out based on one test only. This research was conducted to improve the grade VIII D student’s learning achievement and their active participation through the implication of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) method of cooperative learning type with authentic assessment on the surface area and volume of the pyramid at MTsN 1 Arjasa in the 2012/2013 academic year. The research design was Classroom Action Research (CAR), and the data collecting methods were observation, test, interview, and documentation. From the actions implemented in each cycle, it was proved that the students’ score improved from 66,65 in Cycle 1, to 78,94 in Cycle II. Thus, the average percentage of the second cycle was 83,33% and it fulfilled the research criteria, it showed that the implication of STAD can improve the students’ learning achievment and their active participation. Abstract

Abstract. Generally, mathematics learning in the school still concentrates on the teachers, so that the students become passive in the learning process. Besides that, the students also never get a problem which is done as a group work. This matter cause the students become passive and only listen about the teacher’s explanation. That matter also makes the students become bored, get difficulties in studying Mathematics and give impact on the student’s bad result. Because of that, a resolution is needed to make a better learning process by applying the elaboration learning method on parallelogram and rhombus chapter to increase the study result of the students of VIIB class in SMP Negeri 1 Jatibantengacademic year 2012/2013. Elaboration method is started from presentation of epitome or a framework of that contains and the last is giving the conclusion which has a function to combine some concepts. Based on the result of the research, the application of elaboration learning method is effective to increase the study result of the students in parallelogram and rhombus chapter. We can see it from the student’s study result, that is from 55% to 87.5%. Key Words:Elaboration model, students’ activity, student learning achievement

Abstract

Abstract. One of compulsory subject taught in SMPLB-A is mathematic. Geometry is known as part of mathematic. SMPLB-A student also learn rectangle and square but there is only few media and worksheet that can make them learn independently. This research is developing a worksheet based on four-D models. The developed Braille worksheet have to satisfy validation criteria, effectiveness criteria and practicality criteria. After analize data from research process, obtained that validation average value (Va) is 3,77 which means this Braille worksheet is valid. The effectiveness criteria is obtained from student’s and teacher’s activity which indicate that the activity is satisfy ideal time, so the Braille worksheet is effective. For practicality criteria, we use questionnaire to student. From the questionnaire, value percentage reach 86,25% which indicates that the Braille worksheet at good category and satisfy the practicality criteria. After Braille worksheet fullfill the validation, practicality and efectifeness criteria, this worksheet can be disseminated to school. Key Words: blind student, Braille worksheet, 4-D models.

Abstract

Abstract. The research aims to describe the students’ thinking process of 9th grade of Junior High School in solving the open problem according to their capability in solving problem based on Polya’s solution step. Data analysis is done based on written test and interview techniques. The subject of research is students of IXA class at SMPN 7 Jember in odd semester academic year 2013-2014. The data of research are obtained by validation sheet, written test, and interview techniques. Students experience disequilibrium when they don’t understand about the qestion’s sentence and when she can’t determine the ways to solve the problem, also when she can’t determine the ways to check the result that has already gotten when she does the plans. Students experience assimilation when they can mention what is known and what is asked  from the problems immediately without reck of true or false, also when  they can determine the ways to solve the problems and when they are doing the computations. Students experience accomodation when they are quiet and confuse before they can determine the problem’s condition, also when she is doing the computation and when she is quite before she can determine the ways to solve the problem. Students experience assimilation and accomodation to reach the equilibrium phase. Key Words: thinking process, open problem, and Polya’s solution step.

Abstract

Abstract: The goal of this research aims to know the process and the result of the development of Mathematics Learning Instruments by using IMPROVE method based on Polya’s problem solving model in sub topic of circle at the second semester of the eighth grade students of junior high school in the 2013/2014 Academic Year. Learning instruments development model refers to four D models. The products of this research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. The products refer to the phases of IMPROVE method based on Polya’s problem solving model. The subject of the research is students of grade VIII D SMPN 14 Jember. The data collection methods used in this research are the validation, test, observation, and questionnaire. Based on the validation process try out of learning instruments, it can be concluded that the learning instrumets have satisfied criteria the validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Abstract

ABSTRAK. Salah satu virus utama yang menginfeksi tanaman cabai ialah Chili veinal mottle potyvirus (ChiVMV) yang potensial menyebabkan kehilangan hasil. Strategi pengendalian virus melalui proteksi silang mengandalkan kemampuan virus strain lemah dalam melindungi tanaman dari infeksi virus strain kuat. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengeksplorasi isolat lemah ChiVMV pada pertanaman cabai di Jambi, Sumatera Barat, dan Jawa Barat, sedangkan deteksi ChiVMV dilakukan di Laboratorium Virologi Tumbuhan dan penularan ke tanaman cabai di Rumah Kaca Departemen Proteksi Tanaman, Institut Pertanian Bogor, dari bulan Februari sampai Juli 2011. Isolat-isolat ChiVMV dari tiap daerah berhasil ditularkan dan diperbanyak pada tanaman cabai rentan (Capsicum annuum L.) IPB C13 di rumah kaca. Berdasarkan gejala penyakit dan keparahan penyakit, isolat ChiVMV dapat dibedakan menjadi tiga kelompok yaitu isolat kuat (CKB), isolat sedang (CKW), dan isolat lemah (KAR, SPR, IVAK, SKT, LGM, SKR, CGN, CSR, dan PGL). Isolat-isolat lemah ChiVMV ini selanjutnya dapat digunakan sebagai kandidat agens proteksi silang dalam pengendalian penyakit belang yang disebabkan oleh ChiVMV.ABSTRACT. Exploration of Weak Isolates of  Chili Veinal Mottle Potyvirus from Chili Peppers in Jambi, West Sumatera, and West Java. Chili veinal mottle potyvirus (ChiVMV) is known as an important virus infecting chili peppers and may cause significant yield loss.  Management strategy of virus diseases using cross protection relies on the ability of mild strain of virus to protect plant from infection by severe strain of the same virus. A research was initiated to employ cross protection approach for disease management to reduce the infection of ChiVMV.  Initial exploration was conducted at chili peppers growing areas in Jambi, West Sumatera, and West Java to collect ChiVMV field isolates, whereas ChiVMV detection was conducted at Plant Virology Laboratorium, and transmission to chili peppers in Greenhouse Plant Protection Department, Bogor Agricultural Institute from February to July 2011. ChiVMV isolates were successfully collected and propagated in susceptible chili peppers line (Capsicum annuum L.) IPB C13.  Based on percentage of symptom development, and disease severity of ChiVMV isolates can be differentiated into three groups, i.e. strong isolate (CKB), mild isolate (CKW), and weak isolates (KAR, SPR, IVAK, SKT, LGM, SKR, CGN, CSR, and PGL). Further characterization of promising ChiVMV weak isolates could use as an agent of cross protection candidates in controlling mottle disease caused by ChiVMV.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) pada materi perbandingan dan skala berbasis Scientific Approach berorientasi Problem Based Learning yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah model penelitian pengembangan Plomp. Tahap-tahap yang dilalui untuk mendapatkan LKS dan RPP yang valid, praktis dan efektif antara lain, (1) tahap investigasi awal; (2) tahap perancangan; (3) tahap realisasi; (4) tahap tes, evaluasi, dan revisi; (5) tahap implementasi. Materi pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah perbandingan dan skala. Ujicoba dilakukan pada siswa kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 1 Jenggawah. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen validasi LKS, RPP, dan THB; instrumen observasi aktivitas guru, instrumen observasi aktivitas siswa, dan lembar angket respon siswa. Pengembangan LKS dan RPP berbasis Scientific Approach yang berorientasi Problem Based Learning mempunyai koefisien validitas sebesar 0,91 untuk RPP; 0,93 untuk LKS; dan 0,91 untuk THB. Tingkat pencapaian aktivitas guru pada pertemuan pertama hingga pertemuan keempat berturut-turut: 90,8%, 89,2%, 87,5%, dan 90% dengan kategori baik pada setiap pertemuan. Persentase aktivitas siswa pada pertemuan pertama hingga pertemuan keempat berturut-turut: 81,3%, 88,5%, 89,1%, dan 91,1%, sehingga persentase aktivitas siswa pada keempat pertemuan dapat dikategorikan baik. Dari analisis data THB diperoleh data ketuntasan hasil belajar 80% siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran mampu mencapai tingkat penguasaan materi skor minimal 68. Sedangkan dari analisis angket respon siswa diperoleh persentase sebesar 81% siswa yang memberi respon positif. Maka pengembangan LKS dan RPP materi perbandingan dan skala berbasis Scientific Approach yang berorientasi Problem Based Learning telah memenuhi kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasikan soal ulangan harian pokok bahasan himpunan dan mendeskripsikan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII-A di SMPN 14 Jember tahun ajaran 2014/2015 berdasarkan ranah kognitif Taksonomi Bloom. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, subjek dari penelitian ini adalah lembar jawaban siswa kelas VII-A pada ulangan harian pokok bahasan himpunan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan wawancara. Pedoman yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar instrumen klasifikasi soal dan hasil belajar siswa pada masing-masing level ranah kognitif Taksonomi Bloom. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh persentase klasifikasi soal 13,3% untuk pengetahuan (C1); 46,7% untuk pemahaman (C2); dan 40% untuk aplikasi (C3). Hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII-A telah mencapai pada tingkat kemampuan kognitif aplikasi (C3), dengan persentase rata-rata sebagai berikut: tingkat kognitif pengetahuan (C1) sebesar 92,5%; tingkat kognitif pemahaman (C2) sebesar 61%; dan tingkat kognitif aplikasi (C3) sebesar 71,2%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berstandar NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) di SMP Kelas VII pada pokok bahasan statistika. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Pengembangan dilakukan berdasarkan pada model 4-D (four-D Model), Thiagarajan Semmel & Semmel yang mana dalam proses pengembangannya terdapat empat tahap pengembangan yaitu pendefinisian (define), desain (design), pengembangan (develop) dan penyebaran (disseminate). Metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian adalah lembar validasi instrumen perangkat pembelajaran, observasi, wawancara, dan tes hasil belajar. Selanjutnya data yang diperoleh dianalisis oleh kualitatif deskriptif untuk memenuhi prestasi kriteria menelusuri kevalidan, kepraktisan dan efektivitas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, perangkat pembelajaran dikategorikan baik dan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Kata Kunci: NCTM, Statistika, Model 4-D
