Abstract

Abstract.The purpose of this research are 1) todetermine the application ofmathematical learningusinglearning theoryBruner. 2) to determine theactivity ofstudentsin theteachingandlearningprocessby usinglearningBrunerintriangletopic. Brunertheorystepsconsistof1) information, 2) transformation, 3) andevaluation. transformationhas3stages:enaktif, iconic, andsymbolic. targetedresearch in SMPLB-B Yayasan TPA Jember 2012/2013 academic year. The data collection method applied on this research are observatian, interview, test, and dokumentation. Data analysis that is used in this research are1) implementation of learningBruner, 2) the percentageof teachersandstudentsin teaching and learning. From the observation result, teaching and learning process pertained to the active criteria and increased from cycle 1 to cycle 2. From the final test in cycle 1, the value of classical completeness is 0% and the value of classical completeness in cycle 2 is 80%. The classical completness in cycle 2 increased compared with the first cycle. So, from these result it can be concluded that the application of Brunerlearningusinglearning theoryintriangulartopicscanincreasestudents'mathachievement. Abstract

Abstract. Quantum Teaching is a concept that describes the new ways to facilitate the learning process. This concept has been widely used in a class to improve the student achievement. Type of this research is a developmental research by using 4-D model, it consists 4 steps namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of a research is an equation of straight line for grade VIII A of SMP Negeri 1 Maesan. The data collection methods used in this research are validation, observation, questionnaire, and test. The result of the research are Sillaby, Teaching Plan, Teacher Book, Student Book, Work Sheet, and achievement test. All the learning materials obtained from this research satisfy the effectiveness criteria and the student achievement is 85.18% of student get score bigger than 60. Abstract

Abstract.The aimof this research is to develop an audio based math media.It will help blind stunentd to understand thecircumferenceandtriangle area concepts. The methodis obtained from modifyng Four D modeland data collecting proccessin this research usequestionnaires andobservation. The validation results done by computerexpert, education expert and math teacherof SMPLBclass VII-A shows that 87.91% of the criteria have been fullfiled the validityand no revision required. The next stepis implementation test forblind studentsof class VII. The media test results shows that 92.85% have been fulfilledthevalidity. It means that the media has a very valid category and no revision required. The development result ofaudio based math media is an executable software. The product of this research are 6 units audio based math media and the manual book. Key Words:development research, audio, blind students

Abstract

Abstract. Strategy of PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) with the technique of Mind Mapping is the learning to create combination and relation between new information that have been know with the use of all in the students’ brain and write about what they learn in a piece of paper. This research is expected to know the process and result of the development of mathematics learning instruments based on strategy of PQ4R with the technique of Mind Mapping in sub subject of set for class VII. Learning instruments development model refers to Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel Model (4-D) Model. The result product is lesson plan, student books, work sheets, and evaluation test. Based on validation process and tryout the learning sets can be concluded that the learnig sets had been appropriate with validate, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract.The aims of this study was: (1) to explain the implementing of PBI (Problem Based Instruction) models with Performance Assessment in the surface area and volume of cube and beamsat VIII-A Class of Junior High School 1 Jenggawah Jember at even semester of 2012/2013 academic years; (2) to analyze students’ activities during teaching learning process by using of PBI (Problem Based Instruction) models with Performance Assessment; (3) to analyze the result of students’ achievement after implementing of PBI (Problem Based Instruction) models with Performance.The research design used Classroom Action Research (CAR).The research subject was 37 students in class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 1 Jenggawah. Data collection method was observation, interview, test, and documentation.In the first cycle, completeness the student learning outcomes classically is 59,46%. And the second cycle, completeness the student learning outcomes classically is 89,19%. So the increase of the both cycle classically above was 30,37%. Abstract

This study focused on analyzing students’ communication skill in solving linear equitation of one variable viewed from learning styles. The subjects were students of class VII D in SMPN 1 Jember. The tests consisted of learning styles questionnaire to group their learning style, written communication skill test, and interview. The subject of this research is one of each learning styles. The result showed that students with impulsive kinesthetic learning style are not able to fulfill all written mathematical communication indicators, but they are able to fill 1 of 6 written communication skill indicators, then audio students are able to fulfill 3 of 5 written mathematical communication indicators and fill 5 of 6 interviev indicators, whereas visual students are able to fulfill 4 of 5 written mathematical communication indicators and fill all of interview indicators. Abstract

Abstract. Numbered Heads Together is a cooperative learning strategy that holds each student accountable for learning the material. The advantage of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is that it has numbering system. Type of research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects of was grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Kedungjajang and material the chosen was one variabel linear inequality. The data collection methods used in this research were observation, interview, test, and documentation. In the first cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 73,33% . And the second cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 86,67%. The first cycle to the second cycle was 13,34%.   Key Words : NHT, Cooperative Learning. Abstract

Abstract. One of compulsory subject taught in SMPLB-A is mathematic. Geometry is known as part of mathematic. SMPLB-A student also learn rectangle and square but there is only few media and worksheet that can make them learn independently. This research is developing a worksheet based on four-D models. The developed Braille worksheet have to satisfy validation criteria, effectiveness criteria and practicality criteria. After analize data from research process, obtained that validation average value (Va) is 3,77 which means this Braille worksheet is valid. The effectiveness criteria is obtained from student’s and teacher’s activity which indicate that the activity is satisfy ideal time, so the Braille worksheet is effective. For practicality criteria, we use questionnaire to student. From the questionnaire, value percentage reach 86,25% which indicates that the Braille worksheet at good category and satisfy the practicality criteria. After Braille worksheet fullfill the validation, practicality and efectifeness criteria, this worksheet can be disseminated to school. Key Words: blind student, Braille worksheet, 4-D models.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the visual thinking process of mental retardation students in understanding quadrilateral by using origami as the media. Visual thinking in this study is based on the visual-steps of thinking according to Balton (2011). Visual thinking can be used to help students with mental retardation in understanding geometry’s object which has abstract characteristic. Origami media is used as a learning media to improve the visualization ability of students with mental retardation. The type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach to give more emphasis on the visual thinking of the mental retardation students than the result of his work. This research was conducted on two mental retardation students of grade nine in SLB Negeri Jember. The instruments of this study are interview guidelines, questions, origami media and validation sheets. The results showed that mental retardation students with assisted origami media could understand rectangles and rectangles based on their properties, determine angles, determine diagonals on rectangles and define diagonal definitions. Abstract

Abstract. Numbered Head Together (NHT) is a kind of cooperative learning which specially designed to prevent the dominance of a certain student in the learning process. In fact the PQ4R method is used to help students to remember what they have read of some steps, namely preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review. The subject of the research is grade VII B students of SMPN 2 Sukowono. The data collection methods used in this research are test, observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this research showed the increase of students’ activities and achievement. Clasically the students’ achievement of the cycle I was 10,5% and in cycle II increased to 86,80%. The result of this research also received a good response from the teacher and students. It was proven with increase of the students’ activities and achievement. The application of NHT type of cooperative learning and PQ4R method can increase their activities and achievement.
