Abstract

This study aims to analyze the crisis communication strategies implemented by tourism villages in responding to the impacts of the increasing climate crisis and extreme weather. The tourism sector, which is highly dependent on natural conditions, faces major challenges due to hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, droughts, and landslides. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines how tourism village managers build adaptive communication with visitors, local communities, and other stakeholders. The results of the study show that tourism village managers affected by the climate crisis and extreme weather implement crisis communication strategies based on Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT), especially through the delivery of safety information (instructing information), empathy and explanation of the situation (adjusting information), and efforts to maintain a positive image by highlighting local values and environmental sustainability. This strategy is carried out despite challenges such as limited technology, low human resource capacity, and minimal cross-agency coordination. The crisis communication carried out tends to be responsive and participatory, and relies on social media and local networks to reach tourists and the community effectively.

Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of crisis communication conducted by the government in responding to disasters during the post-truth era, where facts are often overshadowed by opinions and emotions in the dissemination of public information. The aim of this research is to analyze the government’s crisis communication strategies, the challenges in building public trust, and the impact of disinformation on the effectiveness of disaster response. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, focusing on a specific natural disaster that reflects the complexity of communication in the digital age. Data were collected through documentation, in-depth interviews, and content analysis of social media and mass media. The findings indicate that effective and responsive crisis communication is crucial for governments handling disasters in the post-truth era, where opinions and emotions frequently override facts, and misinformation spreads rapidly through social media. In such situations, governments need to deliver information quickly, accurately, and empathetically, while upholding values of honesty and transparency to build public trust. Communication strategies must be adaptive and collaborative, involving various stakeholders such as the media, community leaders, and the use of digital technology. A humanistic approach based on empathy and public education is also key to controlling public narratives and mitigating the overall impact of misinformation in disaster management.

Abstract

XX Milk distributors face the bullwhip effect, which is fluctuations in excess demand due to inaccurate information and a suboptimal ordering system, causing stock inefficiency. This study aims to minimize the bullwhip effect on XX Milk Distributors by applying the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. The data used includes demand and sales of SGM Eksplor milk from five major retailers in Bekasi during the period from May 2022 to April 2023. The analysis techniques used include the calculation of the variance coefficient to measure the bullwhip effect before and after the implementation of EOQ, as well as inventory cost analysis. The results showed that the implementation of EOQ succeeded in reducing the bullwhip effect by 11% and optimizing inventory costs with an average savings of 1.24%.Although the EOQ method is effective in reducing demand fluctuations, this study recommends the implementation of additional strategies such as Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) and Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) to improve supply chain stability. In addition, the integration of artificial intelligence-based technologies can improve the accuracy of demand forecasting. With a more holistic strategy, supply chain management can become more efficient and adaptive to changing market demand. Keywords: Bullwhip effect, Economic Order Quantity, Supply chain

Abstract

Just-in-Time is an operational management approach that aims to reduce stock, optimize work flow, and increase production responsibility. This research aims to evaluate and analyze the implementation of Just-in-Time (JIT) policies in increasing production efficiency in industrial environments. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research results show that the implementation of the Just-in-Time (JIT) policy in increasing production efficiency has had a positive impact. By focusing on demand-based production, inventory reduction, and small-lot production setup, the company managed to increase operational flexibility and reduce waste. The emphasis on quality and continuous improvement provides positive results in continuously improving quality standards and production efficiency. Close collaboration with suppliers has also been proven to help maintain a smooth supply chain. Overall, this research provides empirical support for the effectiveness of implementing JIT as a production management strategy that can improve company performance.
