Abstract

Sebagian besar ISPA disebabkan oleh virus atau campuran infeksi virus-bakteri. Pencegahan koinfeksi oleh bakteri merupakan salah satu cara untuk menurunkan kematian akibat ISPA yang disebabkan oleh virus. Penggunaan terapi bawang merah berpotensi menawarkan pengobatan yang efektif untuk infeksi saluran pernapasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh aromaterapi bawang merah (Allium cepa L.) terhadap jumlah angka kuman di udara. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan desain pretes-postest group design. Variabel bebas adalah aromaterapi bawang merah dan variabel terpengaruh adalah jumlah angka kuman di udara. Data hasil penelitian yang normal dan homogen (setelah diuji dengan uji Saphiro-Wilk dan uji Levene's) akan dianalisa dengan Repeated-Measures Analysis of Varians (ANOVA) dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan pemberian aromaterapi bawang merah terhadap jumlah angka kuman di udara. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil uji Signifikansi Variabel angka kuman di udara dengan nilai p value 0,00. Ho ditolak, ada perbedaan signifikan rata – rata angka kuman di udara sebelum dan sesudah pendispersian aromaterapi bawang merah

Abstract

Abnormal vaginal discharge can cause serious problems if not treated properly. Gambir one of the commodities which has been used as a treatment for abnormal vaginal discharge. Nanotechnology is an emerging science which is expected to increase effectiveness of gambir. This research aims to study the difference effect between gambir-extract and gambir-nanoparticles against abnormal vaginal discharge (Candida albicans and Streptococcus mutans) microbes growth. This study was an experimental laboratory research with posttest-only comparison group design. The independent variable were variations in the concentration of gambir-extract and gambir-nanoparticles. The dependent variable was the zone of inhibition of microbes (Candida albicans and Streptococcus mutans). The data were analyzed by the normality test. After that, bivariat test had been used to see the difference significance value between variables. T Independent test variables C. albicans obtained that p value 0,00 (< 0,05). T Independent test variables S. mutans obtained that p value 0,00 (< 0,05). The conclusion of this research shows there are significant differences between gambir-extract and gambir-nanoparticles against abnormal vaginal discharge microbes growth

Abstract

Karang gigi, merupakan salah satu masalah yang banyak diderita oleh masyarakat yang ada diseluruh dunia. Pemilihan pasta gigi dan mouthwash yang tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan gigi rapuh dan kanker tulang. Salah satu solusi mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan pengolahan bahan alam seperti gambir menggunakan teknologi nanopartikel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri variasi formulasi gel nanopartikel ekstrak etanol gambir terhadap bakteri Streptococcus mutans. Preparasi nanopartikel menggunakan metode gelasi ionik dengan bahan dasar kitosan dan NaTPP. Formulasi gel dibuat menggunakan variasi konsentrasi nanopartikel 0,5%, 1%, 3% dan 5% dalam basis gel carbopol. Produk nanopartikel selanjutnya dikarakterisasi dengan PSA. Untuk produk gel nanopartikel dilakukan uji aktifitas antibakteri. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan ukuran partikel rata-rata nanopartikel ekstrak gambir yaitu 64 nm. Hasil uji zona hambat Formula 0, 1, 2, 3 dan 4 yaitu 0, 0, 0, 9 dan 19 mm. Hasil tersebut menunjukan Formula 4 memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang kuat, hampir sama dengan kontrol positif yaitu 20 mm

Abstract

Indonesia is a plant-producing country, especially in the tropics of Indonesia there are 30,000 plant species. Of these, there are 9,600 plant species that are useful as medicine, but 200 species have been used as raw materials for the herbal industry for health, one of which is from red dragon fruit skin (Hylocereus polyrhizus). This type of research is experimental research. This research was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively which was carried out from July-August 2022. The data obtained in this study were used to determine the antioxidant content of herbal tea preparations in red dragon fruit skin (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmani) and for data analysis, the data obtained was tested linear regression using the SPSS v16 program. to obtain a linear equation, so that the value of antioxidant activity (IC50) is obtained. Data analysis was continued with the one way ANOVA method (ANOVA). So it can be concluded that the herbal tea preparations of red dragon fruit skin (Hylocereus polyrhizus) and cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmanii) in the antioxidant test had a good temperature at 80OC (45.123 ppm) because based on IC50 because the lower the IC50 value, the stronger the IC50 value. The IC50 value is the effective concentration of an antioxidant substance capable of inhibiting the activity of a free radical by 50%. For the IC50 value for the combination tea of red dragon fruit skin and cinnamon bark at 60OC (47.605 ppm) and 100OC (48.585 ppm). Where free radicals are very good at heating temperatures of 80OC. The results showed that the heating temperature of herbal tea simplicia had an effect on the antioxidants produced in each sample. It can be concluded that from the 3 differences in heating temperature variations, the antioxidant yield was very good at 80OC with an IC50 result of 45.123 ppm. Further research needs to be done with the manufacture of dragon fruit peel and cinnamon bark herbal tea in the form of dyes so that the presentation is faster, easier and more practical. Further research is needed to determine the shelf life of dragon fruit peel and cinnamon herbal tea products.Keywords: Red Dragon Fruit Peel, Cinnamon Bark Herbal Tea Preparation.

Abstract

Teh herbal atau herbal tea merupakan salah satu produk minuman campuran teh dan tanaman herbal yang memiliki khasiat dalam membantu pengobatan suatu penyakit atau sebagai penyegar. Teh herbal dapat dikonsumsi sebagai minuman sehat yang praktis untuk menjaga kesehatan. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kulit buah naga super merah (Selenicereus costaricensis) yang diperoleh dari Kecamatan Ampek Angkek, Kabupaten Agam dan daun mint (Mentha piperita L.) yang diperoleh dari Kecamatan Ampek Koto, Kabupaten Agam, Potensi kulit buah naga super merah sebagai obat masih belum termanfaatkan dengan optimal. Salah satu cara untuk mendapatkan khasiatnya, yaitu kulit buah naga super merah (Selenicereus costaricensis) atau super red ini dikonsumsikan dengan daun mint (Mentha piperita L.) dalam bentuk kering yang kemudian diseduh dan diminum. Minuman ini biasanya disebut dengan teh herbal. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui kadar total fenolik terbaik dari 5 variasi komposisi pada sediaan herbal kulit buah naga super merah dan daun mint. Variasi komposisi kulit buah naga super merah dengan daun mint adalah 9:1; 8:2; 7:3; 6:4; 5:5. Uji kadar total fenolik dilakukan menggunakan metoda spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Kadar total fenolik dari 5 variasi komposisi sediaan teh hebal kulit buah naga super merah dan daun mint dengan kadar total fenolik tertinggi pada formulasi 5:5 dengan nilai total kadar fenolik yaitu 0,255 %. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin sedikit kulit buah naga super merah dan semakin banyak daun mint maka semakin tinggi kadar total fenolik. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya disarankan menggunakan metoda freeze drying untuk pengeringan agar tidak merusak senyawa yang terdapat dalam sampel.

Abstract

Exposure to free radicals and oxidative stress are major factors in various degenerative diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, the use of natural antioxidant sources is important to reduce the negative effects of free radicals. This study compares the natural antioxidant potential of black rice, bajakah root, and kebiul seeds, whereas previous studies have only identified the antioxidant potential of a single natural ingredient. This study aims to measure the antioxidant potential, such as total polyphenols, total flavonoids, and antioxidant activity, of these three natural materials using distilled water, 70% ethanol, and 96% ethanol as solvents. The experimental research method involved testing antioxidant activity and measuring total phenolics and flavonoids. The results showed that the 70% ethanol extract of black rice had the highest total polyphenol content at 6.83±0.28 mgGAE/g (0.007±0.00%), the 70% ethanol extract of bajakah wood root had the highest flavonoid content at 8.77±0.02 mgQE/g (0.009±0.00%), and the distilled water extract of kebiul seeds showed the strongest antioxidant activity based on an IC50 value of 5.96 ± 0.01 ppm. This study concluded that black rice has potential as a primary source of phenolics and anthocyanins, while bajakah wood root and kebiul seeds are sources of flavonoids with strong antioxidant activity.
