Abstract

Abstract

The current mathematical learning model demands a standardized process that can promote various learning abilities, one of which is the ability to understand mathematical concepts. After a survey was conducted in one of the schools in the Motoling sub-district, namely SMA Negeri 1 Motoling, it turned out that a problem was found during the covid-19 pandemic, namely the lack of understanding of students' mathematical concepts in matrix material which can be seen from the results of student tests on matrix material, it is suspected that this problem is caused by learning models that are less precise and varied to be used in this pandemic period because students tend to learn online and offline, so a learning model is needed in this case. Based on this, experimental research was conducted to determine the differences in students' mathematical concept understanding abilities between classes taught using the flipped classroom model and classes taught using traditional learning models. The selected research subjects were 2 homogeneous classes, with the number of students in the experimental class being 30 people and the number of students in the control class being 30 people. The results showed that the average ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who were taught using the flipped classroom model was 88.3 while students who were taught using the traditional model were 66.07. Based on the results of testing the research hypothesis using the t-test, it can be concluded that the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in the matrix material of students who are taught using the flipped classroom learning model is more than students who are taught using the traditional (conventional) model.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and interviews that have been conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Tondano, information was obtained that the learning process is still using the direct learning model. Where learning is only centered on the teacher, so students are less active in learning mathematics. This causes students to have grades that are standard or below average. This cen be seen from the average score of students, which is 67.5, while the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) set in schools is 75. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the learning outcomes of students who use the cooperative learning model of the student teams achievement division type are higher from student learning outcomes using direct learning models on circle material. The experimental design used in this study was a posstest control group design. the sample of this study was class VIIIC as the experimental class with 28 students and class VIIIB as the control class with 29 students at SMP Negeri 1 Tondano. Data obtained from student learning outcomes tests. With the average student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 81.64 and the average student learning outcomes in the control class was 72.85. analysis of the data using the t-test with a value of then reject and accept . The results of the study concluded that student learning outcomes taught by cooperative learning model type student teams achievement division were higher than student learning outcomes taught using direct learning models, so that they were well applied to the process of learning activities.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to detail the purchasing and selling procedures employed by traders at the Tomohon faith market as well as the arithmetic computation techniques they employ. Research of this kind is qualitative. Interviewing and participant observation techniques were utilized to acquire the data. In this study, the data analysis is qualitative descriptive. Ten traders from the Tomohon faith market were chosen at random to participate as research subjects in this study. The study's findings demonstrate that Tomohon faith market vendors round up their prices when selling their items. The way that traders provide change is to round up the cash that needs to be paid in advance to the nearest tenth, then add it up until the whole sum matches the cash the buyer has paid. The methods used by research participants to calculate addition, subtraction, and multiplication differ significantly from those used in classroom instruction. The value 0, which functions as thousands, is always disregarded. Start by adding the thousands with the thousands, then the hundreds with the hundreds, to determine the total. Some people also finish first to the nearest tens value. If the number being decreased, for example, is 50,000 - 13,000, the reduction procedure is 13 to go to 20 less 7. Then 50 – 20 = 30. The result is 37, which equals 37,000. In addition, you must deduct the first tens of thousands from the second tens of thousands before removing the remaining part of the second figure. Multiply the number from the front number first, for instance, tens of thousands, then thousands, and so on, to calculate the multiplication technique. Find the number that can be divided by the divisor to calculate the division. The outcome of the previous division is then applied to the divided number. This process is continued until all the divided number has been used. The outcomes of these divisions should then be added.
