Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh dalam capaian belajar matematika peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD), serta membandingkan efektivitasnya dengan pendekatan konvensional yang selama ini diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen pretest dan posttest. Sampel yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 70 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pelaksanaan tes yang terdiri dari dua jenis, yaitu pretest dan posttest. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD secara signifikan berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan capaian belajar siswa yang dapat dilihat dari nilai pretest 56,94 dengan nilai posttest 82,085 serta mengungguli metode konvensional dalam menambah tingkat capain belajar matematika siswa pada materi lingkaran yang dillihata dari hasil uji t yakni thitung > ttabel, untuk nilai thitung = 3.105 and ttabel = 1.667 yang berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara capaian belajar kelas dengan pendekatan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD serta metode konvensinal. Abstract

Numeracy literacy is an important foundation in linking mathematical understanding with its application in everyday life. This ability includes mastery of basic mathematical operations, skills to interpret, analyse and solve contextual problems. The results of observations and interviews in a number of junior high schools in the West Tondano District area, students are generally fluent in reading but in counting, some other students still have difficulty. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection through tests. The results showed that the categorisation of high, medium, and low groups had an average value for the high group of 66.33, the medium group of 22.96, and the low group of 9.33.

Abstract

Based on the information, students at SMP Negeri 3 Touluaan have relatively low mathematics scores and face difficulties in learning Pythagorean theorem material, which impacts their learning outcomes. To achieve better learning results, one alternative learning model that can improve student outcomes is the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. The purpose of this research, as presented in this thesis, is to determine the students' learning outcomes after implementing the CTL approach in teaching Pythagorean theorem material to Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Touluaan, and to assess the completeness of learning outcomes after using the CTL approach. The research methodology used is quantitative descriptive statistics, with datancollection techniques including questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Basednon the results of the study, the influence of contextual mathematics learning on students' outcomes in Pythagorean theorem material at SMP Negeri 3 Touluaan has been positive. Supporting factors in the learning process include high student interest in learning, while inhibiting factors are a lack of foundational knowledge in geometric shapes, angles, and related topics, as well as some students' reluctance to express their opinions and their diverse backgrounds.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi aritmatika sosial di kelas VII B SMP Negeri 1 Touluaan berdasarkan teori klasifikasi kastolan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 25 siswa kelas VII B. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melibatkan tes berupa 5 soal uraian, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi aritmatika sosial, siswa melakukan kesalahan konseptual dengan persentase sebesar 5.6%, pada kesalahan prosedural sebesar 35,2% dan pada kesalahan teknik sebesar 51,4%.

Abstract

Students’ limited mastery of algebra remains a persistent obstacle in achieving the expected mathematics competencies. At MTs Negeri 1 Manado, instruction is still dominated by teacher-centered lectures, which often lead to passive learning behavior, declining motivation, and difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts. This study was conducted to examine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model as an alternative approach to improve students’ mathematics achievement. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was applied. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students, and a random sample of two classes (VII-B and VII-I) was selected. The research instrument comprised five essay-type test items that had been validated by experts (lecturers and teachers) and demonstrated acceptable reliability. The procedure included four main stages: preparation, pretest administration, instructional treatment, and posttest administration, followed by statistical analysis. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, independent and paired-sample t-tests, and effect size estimation through Cohen’s d. The results indicated a significant improvement in the experimental group, with the mean score rising from 69.52 to 76.97, corresponding to a large effect size (d = 1.09). These findings confirm that the TGT model is effective in enhancing mathematics learning outcomes. Furthermore, the study highlights the pedagogical potential of TGT in promoting active participation, fostering motivation, and offering an engaging alternative to conventional lecture-based teaching in mathematics classrooms.
