Abstract

This study aims to analyse student satisfaction with the content and teaching methods of the Agroindustrial and Environmental-Based Entrepreneurship course, which is crucial in shaping students' entrepreneurial mindset and skills in the context of sustainable development. The increasing demand for environmentally conscious entrepreneurs in the agroindustry sector highlights the significance of this course. The research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey design involving 46 respondents. The results show that, in general, students are satisfied with the content, with an average score of 3.68, falling into the high category (3.41 - 4.20). Specific areas of satisfaction include content relevance to needs (3.85), content supporting entrepreneurial interest (3.78), content ease of understanding (3.62), and content applicability and contextuality (3.48). Satisfaction with teaching methods also indicates a high level (mean = 3.69), with interactive teaching (3.87), interesting case studies (3.73), discussions aiding understanding (3.65), and practical applications (3.50). External factors also show relatively high satisfaction (mean = 3.64), including classroom facilities (3.82), teaching aids quality (3.71), learning environment comfort (3.60), and availability of learning resources (3.41). The findings reveal that students from the Counselling and Guidance Study Program at the University of Jambi have high satisfaction with the course content and teaching methods. Despite high satisfaction, there are areas for improvement, such as enhancing the applicability of content and increasing the intensity of practical experience. External factors, such as classroom comfort and learning resources, should also be improved. To enhance learning quality, integrating more practical experiences and complex case studies, alongside digital technology and more applicable teaching materials, will enrich the learning experience. Further research in other programs and with a deeper approach will provide more comprehensive insights.

Abstract

One of the most widely cultivated agricultural sub-sectors cultivated by farmers in Indonesia is the food crop sub-sector. Based on the topography of tidal swamp land, there are four types of land, namely Type A, B, C, and D. Type C land has the potential to be improved in its land use. One of the most widely cultivated food crop commodities in  Indonesia is soybean.  One way to cultivate soybeans is by optimizing the land, especially tidal land. Based on the topography of tidal swamp land, there are four types of land, namely Type A, B, C, and D. Type B land has the potential to be improved in its land use. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the technical efficiency of farming in tidal marshland, especially in Type Bland. This research was conducted with the objectives of: Sub-district, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, 2) Analyzing the level of technical efficiency of soybean farming in Rantau Rasau sub-district, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, 3) Analyzing the influence of age, education, experience, number of family members and extension workers on the technical inefficiency of soybean farming in Rantau Rasau sub- district, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The analytical tool used is the analysis of the Stochastic Frontier production function with Cobb-Douglass and calculates the level of efficiency and inefficiency.  This research was conducted in the Rantau Rasau sub-district,  East  Tanjung  Jabung  Regency.  The sampling technique was the census method with a sample of 42 farmers. The data used were secondary and primary.  The results showed that: 1) The condition of the land in the study area is tidal land with an average production of 1,039 Kg. 2) The use of production inputs in the study area was technically efficient reaching 0.751. 3) Simultaneously and partially age, education, experience, number of family members and counselling have no significant effect on production.

Abstract

Increasing Rice is a crucial food crop that significantly contributes to the food security of farming households. This study aims to determine farmers' income from rice farming in Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency. Additionally, it seeks to determine the income generated from other farming enterprises outside of rice farming in the same district. The research assesses the contribution of rice farming income to farmers' overall income in Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency. Conducted between June and July 2024, this research focuses on rice farmers in the area. The observed variables include rice farming and other agricultural businesses, such as oil palm and rubber farming, as well as non-agricultural activities or labor. Data sources consist of both secondary data and primary data collected through questionnaires. A simple random sampling technique resulted in 42 rice farmer samples. The analysis method used is descriptive. The findings reveal that the income from rice farming is the lowest compared to other agricultural activities. Oil palm farming represents the highest income, followed by rubber farming. The lowest income is derived from non-agricultural work (labor). The analysis results show that rice farming income contributes only 4.54 percent to the total income of farmers in Maro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency.

Abstract

This study examines the competitiveness of smallholder oil palm plantations in Rimbo Ilir District, Tebo Regency, and evaluates how government policies affect their performance. Using the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM), this study analyzes comparative and competitive advantages, the impact of policies on inputs and outputs, and the sensitivity of these policies. Conducted in Sari Mulya, Sumber Agung, and Karang Dadi Villages during April–May 2025, this study found that smallholder oil palm plantations in the region have strong competitiveness, reflected in PCR (0.28) and DRCR (0.5458) values below 1. Policy indicators indicate that government interventions do not fully protect tradable inputs (NPCI > 1) and act as a disincentive to output (NPCO < 1), while overall input–output policies remain ineffective (EPC < 1). Sensitivity tests indicate that despite an increase in input prices (12%–25%) or a 10% decrease in output prices, oil palm plantations maintain their competitive and comparative advantages. In conclusion, smallholder oil palm plantations in Rimbo Ilir Regency remain highly competitive and worthy of further development.
