Abstract

The long term purpose of this research is to obtain the high quality renewable biogas that can be used as fuel for internal combustion engines to drive an electricity generator as energy diversification efforts in the area of small sustainable islands. The specific target expected to be achieved is a method/technique for absorbing impurities contained in biogas, especially CO2 component. The study was conducted to reduce the level of CO2 in biogas using NaOH solution. The mass flow rates of biogas employed were 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 l/min. The biogas was then tested using an engine to see the effect CO2 on the engine performance at several rotations, i.e. 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 rpm. The results show that the torque increases by 21.3% for biogas B2 compared to the unpurified biogas. For biogas B4, the torque increases by 19.1%. While for biogas B6, B8, and B10, the torques increase by 14.9%, 12.8%, and 8.5% respectively. For biogas B2, the SFCE decreases by 33.4%, for biogas B4, the SFCE declines of about 22.7%, while for biogas B6, the SFCE declines by 17.9%. The SFCSs also decline by 13.9% and 8.5% for biogas B8 and B10.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a machine learning-based bankruptcy prediction model for the retail sector in the context of digital disruption. Changes in consumer behavior and increased technology-based competition increase the risk of bankruptcy, necessitating a more adaptive and accurate analytical approach. This research employs a quantitative approach with predictive analytics methods, utilizing financial data and digital variables as model input. The research stages include data preprocessing, handling class imbalance through oversampling techniques, dimensionality reduction using Principal Component Analysis, and feature selection to improve model efficiency and accuracy. Various machine learning algorithms are applied and compared, including Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, XGBoost, and deep learning approaches such as Neural Networks and LSTM. Furthermore, a hybrid model is developed to optimize predictive performance by combining the advantages of various algorithms. Model evaluation is performed using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and ROC-AUC metrics, and validation using cross-validation to ensure model stability and generalizability. The results show that the ensemble-based and hybrid models provide the best performance in predicting bankruptcy. The integration of digital variables has been shown to significantly improve model accuracy compared to using financial data alone. This research emphasizes the importance of a multidimensional, data-driven approach in understanding bankruptcy risk in the retail sector. The resulting model has the potential to be an effective early detection tool for companies, investors, and stakeholders in navigating business dynamics in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of UMKM digitalization through the One Village One Product (OVOP) approach in supporting local economic development in Karanggan Village. The study employs a qualitative approach with data collected through interviews and observations. The results indicate that digitalization through QRIS usage, Google Maps utilization, and digital marketing training improves business visibility and UMKM actors’ understanding of technology. However, challenges remain in terms of limited digital literacy and internet access. This study concludes that the integration of OVOP and digitalization is an effective strategy to enhance UMKM competitiveness.
