Abstract

In the preparation process of outlet pipe I type 316N, an imperfect shape occurs when it is combined with its part/ Base on the analysis conducted, spring back on forming process occurs so that it makes the size of diameter of outlet pipe improper after combined with its parts. There are several methods that can be used to eliminated springback, but for this case, a graphical approach is conducted to calculate the addition of punch-dies geometry as the compensation of springback. Punch-dies reconstruction for preparation process outlet pipe I by inserting material springback factor, dies radius (Rdo)=19.14mm and punch radius (Rpo) = 17.92 mm.Keywords : punch, dies, springback,, forming process

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas gabah melalui penggunaan mesin pengering yang berbasis energi terbarukan di Desa Kekeri Kabupaten Lombok Barat Nusa Tenggara Barat. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi dan demonstrasi penggunaan mesin pengering. Demonstrasi mencakup pengoperasian mesin, perawatan, serta pemanfaatan limbah pertanian sebagai sumber energi panas. Selain itu, penyuluhan dilakukan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang manfaat dan cara penggunaan mesin pengering dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan efisiensi pengolahan gabah. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan mesin pengering signifikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas gabah, mengurangi risiko kerusakan fisik dan kontaminasi, serta meningkatkan efisiensi waktu pengeringan. Teknologi ini juga membantu petani mendapatkan produk gabah berkualitas tinggi yang memiliki daya saing lebih baik di pasaran, serta mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan dengan pemanfaatan energi terbarukan.

Abstract

The long term purpose of this research is to obtain the high quality renewable biogas that can be used as fuel for internal combustion engines to drive an electricity generator as energy diversification efforts in the area of small sustainable islands. The specific target expected to be achieved is a method/technique for absorbing impurities contained in biogas, especially CO2 component. The study was conducted to reduce the level of CO2 in biogas using NaOH solution. The mass flow rates of biogas employed were 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 l/min. The biogas was then tested using an engine to see the effect CO2 on the engine performance at several rotations, i.e. 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 rpm. The results show that the torque increases by 21.3% for biogas B2 compared to the unpurified biogas. For biogas B4, the torque increases by 19.1%. While for biogas B6, B8, and B10, the torques increase by 14.9%, 12.8%, and 8.5% respectively. For biogas B2, the SFCE decreases by 33.4%, for biogas B4, the SFCE declines of about 22.7%, while for biogas B6, the SFCE declines by 17.9%. The SFCSs also decline by 13.9% and 8.5% for biogas B8 and B10.

Abstract

For the purposes of practicum and student research in the field of materials, tensile test equipment is very important. But the test equipment that is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Mataram has a very large capacity so it is not suitable for testing materials such as plastics and composites so this study bertujuann to make small capacity tensile testing machine for purposes of practicum and student research in the field of polymer materials and composites. Due to limited funds, the research is focused on making data acquisition tensile testing machine. Necessary materials are on site, cable, lead solder, lacquers cable socket and supported by laboratory equipment mechanical engineering majors who have been there, but some of the components to be purchased as load cell, electronic extensometer, and the operational amplifier module arduino uno boad. Design data acquisition consists of a sensor that is load cell, extensometer electronic, signal conditioning is an operational amplifier that is arduino uno data recording boad connected with the personal computer and data processing using LabView software so that the output of the data acquisition is in the form of tables and graphs. With their small capacity tensile testing machine is expected to provide an additional means of learning in the laboratory and student research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain handling connection type in use as door panels, roofing sheets, walls and floors. Therefore, the tests performed are fastening test and abrasion test. The technique of making wood composite is using hand lay-up technique. Constituent material of board composite is using pandanwangifibers with length variationsare 15 mm, 20 mm, and 30 mm with volume fraction variations are 20% and 30%, and 5% Sengon tree saw-dust is used as the filler. The results showed that pre-drilling with fastener sizes # 6, # 8 and # 10 is 3.5 mm, 4 mm and 4,5mm. The distance between each fastener depends on the fastener head itself, ie fastener # 6, # 8, and # 10. Critical distance between the edge of the fastener has a significant effect on fiber length and volume fraction. The highest value is shown on 15 mm of the fiber length and 20% of volume fraction with the value 3.29 mm, and the lowest value is shown on 15 mm of the fiber length and 30% of volume fraction with the value 2.74 mm.

Abstract

Brake system is an important thing of vehicle. Many kinds of brake pads presents by each factory. Brake pads made of asbestos and non asbestos material. Each of them have excess and lack. This research aims to know the performance of each type of brake pads so that it can show the excess and lack of each type of product. As user, we have to choose a product which will be used in our vehicle cleverly.The research be done by giving variations in load of brake and weight of rider at a constant speed. The load of brake used spring with the variation are 2 kg, 3 kg and 4kg. While, weight rider are varied with 54 kg and 111 kg.Research result shows that increasing load of pull brake led to increasing the value of worn out and a decline in the braking time, while increasing weight of the rider causes an increase in the value of worn out and braking time at all types of brake pad products. In dry condition, the lowest wear is 1,37x10-4 mm/second in non asbestos pads and the highest wear is 3,088x10-5 mm/second in asbestos pads. While, the smallest braking time is 28,79 seconds in asbestos pads and the biggest is 64,26 seconds in non asbestos pads. In wet condition, the lowest wear is 2,422x10-5 mm/second in asbestos pads and the highest wear is 7,716x10-5mm/second in non asbestos pads. While, the smallest braking time is 29,46 seconds in non asbestos pads and the biggest is 62,71 seconds in asbestos pads.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah sampah rumah tangga di Kecamatan Sambelia, Lombok Timur, menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan lingkungan dan kesehatan masyarakat. Penanganan sampah yang tidak efektif dapat menyebabkan pencemaran, penyebaran penyakit, serta penurunan kualitas hidup. Artikel ini membahas penerapan komposter sebagai solusi untuk mengelola sampah organik rumah tangga dalam mendukung program desa sehat. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan masyarakat setempat dalam pelatihan pembuatan dan penggunaan komposter. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan komposter mampu mengurangi volume sampah rumah tangga hingga 60%, menghasilkan pupuk organik berkualitas tinggi, serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan. Implementasi program ini juga berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan estetika lingkungan dan kesehatan warga. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa komposter sampah rumah tangga dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan efisien dalam mendukung terciptanya desa sehat dan berkelanjutan di Kecamatan Sambelia.

Abstract

The university of Mataram car suspension and its control was designed to minimize the vibration produced by unwanted external inputs i.e., changes of road contours that reach the car passengers. This effort will provide the passenger with higher safety and comfort. In this study, a quarter car model with two degree of freedoms (2 DOF) was designed and developed its mathematical model. The effects of the road contour were studied and analyzed in term of overshoot and settling time that affect the main body, suspension as well as the passenger. The MATLAB Simulink model was programmed to mimic the behavior of the suspension and its response to the input which was the road contour (step function). This approach was very helpful to reduce the effort, time and money. The result shows that with implementation of the design parameters chose, the responses of the system (displacement and velocities) were satisfied the criteria of comfortable (there are no overshoot), however, the settling time was seconds that much higher than expected which will disturb the passenger comfort. This point shows that the suspension design needs further improvement with consideration of using active suspension with adequate control system.

Abstract

Abstrak Desa Sesait menghadapi permasalahan pengelolaan limbah peternakan, khususnya kotoran sapi yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan serta belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra, yakni Kelompok Tani Ingin Maju, dalam mengolah limbah kotoran sapi menjadi pupuk organik menggunakan teknologi tepat guna berupa mesin pencacah. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan partisipatif berbasis praktik langsung, dengan evaluasi melalui pretest dan posttest terhadap 20 peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sebesar 52% dengan nilai rata-rata 91,50 dan keterampilan peserta yang mampu mengoperasikan mesin secara mandiri. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan teknis masyarakat, efisiensi proses pembuatan pupuk organik, serta membuka peluang diversifikasi usaha pertanian.
