Abstract

The development of information communication technology (ICT) has made it easier for people to carry out activities. People's dependence on ICT has become greater, which impacts increasing per capita income, business efficiency, and costs. The impact of ICT causes the flow of goods and services to be more efficient so that economic growth can be faster. This study aims to analyze the effect of ICT on economic development across all provinces in Indonesia over the period 2012–2022. The data used in this study from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the DJPK or the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia and used Generalized Least Squares (GLS) model approach. The results shows the Information and Communication Technology Development Index as a proxy for ICT, government spending, and investment significantly affected economic growth in all provinces. The labor variable does not significantly affect economic growth. The investment variable has the power prediction on economic growth. Implication of the study the government needs to build digital infrastructure and  government budget is more focused on digital literacy.

Abstract

Abstract

Despite employing more than half of the national workforce, informal entrepreneurs in the service sector continue to earn less than their counterparts in the formal sector. This study aims to analyze informal entrepreneurship in the service sector, which is indicated to have the potential to improve local economies. The study uses 52,349 observations and applies the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. Data were drawn from the 2019 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) and regional minimum wage (UMR) data published by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The variables used in this study include internet usage, age, education level, gender, place of residence, work duration, weekly working hours, and UMR. The results indicate that internet usage has a positive and significant effect on income, with an estimated contribution of 29.1 percent. Other factors such as age, education, urban residence, work duration, working hours, and minimum wage are also significant. These findings highlight the importance of accelerating digitalization as a strategy to enhance the welfare of informal service entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Abstract

Research Originality: This study highlights the transformative role of digitalization, particularly the use of internet networks and mobile phones, in addressing these challenges and enhancing the welfare of farmers.Research Objectives: This research aims to analyze the impact of internet usage on farmers' welfare in Indonesia. Specifically, it examines how access to digital tools can bridge the knowledge gap in the agricultural sector and improve economic outcomes, focusing on regional disparities between Western and Eastern Indonesia.Research Methods: This study uses National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) data and the ordered probit model with marginal effects.Empirical Results: Farmers in the upper-middle expenditure group can leverage the Internet and mobile phones to access production information, markets, and farm credit, supported by better finances and education. In contrast, low-income farmers, particularly in eastern Indonesia, face barriers such as costs, limited infrastructure, and low digital literacy, hindering technology adoption to improve welfare.Implications: The government is expected to address this digital divide by accelerating the development of internet infrastructure in rural areas, improving digital literacy, subsidizing technological devices, and developing accessible agricultural applications.JEL Classification: D6, I24, L86, Q12

Abstract

Research Originality: This study provides the first scientific analysis of the effect of the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) Program on household food security among Indonesia’s lowest 20% expenditure group. Research Objectives: This study examines the impact of the Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) on household food security in Indonesia, with a focus on households in the lowest 20% expenditure group. Research Methods: This study employs a multinomial logistic regression model to investigate the key determinants of food security among households. Empirical Results: The Non-Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) plays a significant role in improving the food security of recipient households. Social assistance programs like BPNT can help low-income families by mitigating the negative effects of food price shocks, specifically by promoting dietary diversity. Implications: The government should continually update data to enhance the effectiveness of BPNT distribution, particularly for the poorest 20% of households, who are most vulnerable to food insecurity. It also needs to conduct regular outreach and monitoring to ensure beneficiaries use BPNT properly. JEL Classification: O01, O02, Q0, Q12, Q18 How to Cite:Kharisma, B., Wardhana, A., Remi, S. Abstract

Agricultural land has decreased the impact on farmers in meeting their needs. The transition to agriculture complicates industry in its effort to meet the needs of farmers. Another issue, climate change will disrupt plant crops that will result in inefficient farming. Farming inefficiencies are a reason for farmers to diversify. This study was based on a micro data survey data of agricultural enterprise household income in the Regencies / Cities of West Java on a household level. Limits of household income diversification of farming is when the household has to venture outside the agricultural sector or one of the cores and the sources of income comes from salaries / wages of laborers / employees outside the agricultural sector. The results showed that with the increasing age of the household head the diversity decreases, the higher the education of the head of household the more it encourages the diversification of income, the more the additional land area increases diversification, the easier access to credit for adding revenue diversification, increasing the income of farmers that tend not to diversify, the more houses and stairs in school which support farmers to diversify, the more productive the household income lowers with diversification. Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) identify gaps in stunting prevalence data between the Survey of Nutrition Status Indonesia (SSGI) and Bulan Timbang in Kediri District; (2) identify external and internal factors regarding the handling of stunting in Kediri District. Finally, alternative strategies that are appropriate and can be used as input by policymakers are needed to achieve the target stunting rate with a downward trend from year to year in Kediri District. The research methods used are Gap Analysis, SWOT, and QSPM Matrix. The results showed that the difference in stunting prevalence data in Kediri District in 2022 between Bulan Timbang and the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) was because SSGI surveyed in Kediri District by random sampling with a total of 710 toddlers, which, according to the Kediri District Health Office, the sampling locations by SSGI were coincidentally the locations with the highest stunting prevalence rates in Kediri District. It is not explained from the 710 toddlers how many toddlers experience stunting.
