Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran Thinking Actively in Social Contexts (TASC) pada pembelajaran Biologi SMA disertai dengan panduan model yang layak untuk meningkatkan kemampuan higher order thinking. Penelitian ini menggunakan model 4D: define, design, develop, disseminate yang dikombinasikan dengan model Borg and Gall. Tahap define meliputi analisis kurikulum, karakteristik siswa, kegiatan siswa, materi dan tujuan pembelajaran. Tahap design meliputi pemilihan media, perancangan modifikasi sintaks, perancangan format panduan model, serta pembuatan produk awal. Tahap develop meliputi pengembangan model TASC disertai panduan model dengan penilaian oleh ahli dan uji pengembangan (uji coba terbatas dan uji coba lapangan). Tahap disseminate merupakan upaya penyebaran model TASC dilengkapi panduan model yang telah direvisi kepada beberapa pihak terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran TASC layak dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan higher order thinking siswa. Pencapaian nilai kemampuan higher order thinking mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan berdasarkan hasil pretest dan postes yang telah diuji dengan uji gain score dan uji t.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksplorasi lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Penentuan subyek penelitian dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Pihak yang dijadikan sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah mereka yang mengetahui, memahami, dan mengalami fokus kajian penelitian ini, yaitu yang mengetahui, memahami sejarah dan pelaksanaan kegiatan sebagai upaya pengamalan nilai-nilai keislaman dan etika lingkungan pada komunitas peduli sungai di kecamatan Cluwak, Pati. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: teknik observasi, teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data-data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dalam beberapa tahap yaitu: tabulasi dan klasifikasi data, reduksi data, interpretasi data dan penyimpulan data. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa adanya fenomena penumpukan sampah di sekitar jembatan Kebolanjam yang berada di titik 500 m sungai B, komunitas peduli sungai mengambil langkah operasional yang efektif dan kreatif untuk mengatasi pencemaran sampah di sekitar aliran sungai sebagai wujud nyata etika terhadap lingkungan dengan konsep bersih dan elok serta tidak melupakan upaya untuk perbaikan sikap masyarakat melalui internalisasi nilai-nilai islam (nilai ilahiyah dan insaniyah) melalui majelis taklim dan peningkatan pendidikan agama dalam berbagai forum atau kegiatan masyarakat desa Ngablak secara kontinyu

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research is improve  biology learning quality  for  teacher performance,  learning facilities,  classroom climate, student?s  science  attitude in class, and student motivation of learning in student class XI Sains 5 SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta.  The research is classroom action research. The steps of research include planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The collecting data of research uses questionnaire, observation, and interview. The research uses triangulation as validation data. The research uses descriptive as analytic data.  The acts of research contain  three cycles. The result in cycles I, II and III describes that mean of observation data in  the classroom  for  aspect  teacher performance,  classroom climate, student?s science attitude and students motivation in learning have been increase for every cycles and achieve of target ? 75% in cycles III,  the utility of learning facilities in the classroom as well have been optimal. In addition, this research also uses interview  and the result of interview shows that student motivation can improve after acts of research end, attitude of students  can improve after act of research end, and conditioning of class can more interesting after acts of research end. The conclusion of research describes that  the implementation of learning model cooperative type two stay two stray with media audio-visual can improve  biology  learning quality for  teacher performance,  learning facilities, classroom climate, student?s science attitude, and motivation of learning in student class XI Sains 5 SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta. Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 berdampak pada semua aspek kehidupan, tidak hanya bidang kesehatan, tetapi juga bidang pendidikan, sosial dan ekonomi. Pada bidang ekonomi dan bisnis, hampir seluruh entrepreneur di dunia ini ikut terkena dampak pandemi covid-19. Sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat, bioentrepreneurship diperkenalkan secara lebih dalam kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi dan solusi kepada masyarakat yang sedang memulai bisnis atau entrepreneur yang terkena dampak covid-19. Bioentrepreneurship merupakan integrasi antara ilmu biologi dengan ilmu bisnis yang melibatkan seluruh aspek makhluk hidup. Bioentrepreneurship dapat dipraktekan di rumah selama pandemi covid-19 sebagai upaya meningkatkan kreatifitas dan alternatif bisnis yang menjanjikan, seperti pembuatan jamu atau empon-empon anti corona, skin care organik dan sebagainya. Pengembangan bioentrepreneurhsip di Indonesia dapat memberikan peluang startup baru bagi masyarakat. Sehingga selama pandemi covid-19 ini, masyarakat tetap aktif, kreatif dan produktif. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu PAR (Participatory Action Research). PAR melibatkan pertisipasi aktif dari semua pihak/ stakeholderdalam melakukan perubahan ke arah yang lebih baik. Perlu dipahami bahwa PAR memiliki tiga tindakan yang saling berkaitan yaitu partisipasi, riset dan aksi. Kata kunci: Bioentrepreneurship, kreatifitas, alternatif bisnis, pandemi covid-19.

Abstract

The study of literacy always becomes the main issue in education, because this skill is a benchmark for the progress and development of a nation. Indonesia is a large country with a large area, however with its wide area it turns out to be an obstacle in terms of equalizing education in Indonesia. In fact, some rural villages have not had adequate access to education and it causes the paradigm about education among rural villages is less open.  Moreover, Indonesia is a country which majority of the population are Muslims, so the literacy skills improvement program which is being pursued should have an Islamic value. . Unfortunately, there have not been many reviews about increasing literacy skills based on Islamic education. Therefore, it needs an effort that can develop literacy skills for children especially for the nation's next generation. The fostering of villages youth organizations through the Islamic Reading Center (IRC) which aims to increase children's literacy is a literacy collaborative (LC) program starting from rural villages’ level, local government and central government which involves youth organization from the rural villages’ level, sub-district, regency, education and culture agency, social agency, regional and national libraries, and the directorate general of Islamic education of religious ministry of Republic of Indonesia. The Islamic reading center provides Islamic books and media that can be managed by the youth organizations in a rural village. So, through Islamic reading centers and literacy activities, it can increase literacy skills in rural villages which need more attention in education.

Abstract

The purpose of science learning is to master knowledge, understand and apply the concept of science, apply the skills of the science process and develop the attitude of science. Biology is a part of science, so to achieve the goal in the learning must be in accordance with the nature of science, namely science as a process, product, attitude, and application. Assessment of the achievement of knowledge competence is an assessment of students' intellectual/cognitive potential in biology learning, for which a valid and reliable assessment instrument is required. The assessment instrument reviewed here is a written test instrument. Written tests for measuring cognitive abilities can be distinguished into tests for measuring low-level cognitive abilities and measuring high-level cognitive abilities including analytical thinking skills. Analytical thinking skills is very important as a basis in solving problems faced by students especially in Biology learning. Therefore, teachers need to train students with problem-based learning solving and practice questions in the form of higher order thinking test. The form of higher order thinking test can be a choice test (chosen response test) that can measure analytical thinking skills in high school biology learning with respect to substantial aspects, constructs and language.

Abstract

This research is a type of comparative research using a quantitative approach. The study population was the population of Bandotan plants in the Kudus and Jepara regions. The organ parts taken from the plant were leaves, while the stems, roots and flowers were not extracted in this study. The extraction method used maceration and soxhletation with 96% ethanol solvent. Furthermore, to determine the total flavonoid content of Ageratum conyzoides leaf extraction results using the UV Vis Spectrophotometric method, it is known that Ageratum conyzoides leaf extract using the Soxhletation method has a higher total flavonoid content (0.32% b/v) compared to the Maceration method (0.22% b/v). The results of the total flavonoid test were then analyzed using the Mann Whitney U Test. Based on the Mann Whitney U Test shows that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2- tailed) of 0.102 > 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between maceration and soxhletation extraction methods on total flavonoids of Ageratum conyzoides extract.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a virtual laboratory Android application entitled "Bacterial Culture" as an innovative learning media in Microbiology courses. This application simulates the bacterial culture process, including media preparation, sterilization techniques, inoculation, and analysis of results. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the Borg and Gall model which was adapted into six stages. The design validation stage includes validation of media and material experts, namely microbiology lecturers and small group trials involving third semester Biology Education students at IAIN Kudus. The results of expert validation by microbiology course lecturers show that this media obtained a validity score of 91.6% (very valid), and practicality testing by 3rd semester students obtained a score of 61.6% (Special). These findings indicate that the virtual laboratory "Bacterial Culture" is a learning medium that can support students' understanding of bacterial culture practicum before carrying out practicum in the laboratory. This study contributes to the progress of technology-based education which is aligned with the Independent Campus Learning Curriculum (MBKM).
