Abstract

The thinking process characterized by reflective thinking towards critical thinking to produce a decision is called the refractive thinking process. However, how the refractive thinking process occurs in the subject needs to be revealed. This study aims to reveal the refractive thinking process in subjects who use a single strategy in decision making. This study is a qualitative approach involving 25 mathematics education students from two universities in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. Each student was given a test on the problem of ordering cities based on the level of dependence on the central government from lowest to highest. The decision to order cities was based on local revenues data that varied between cities and unstable from year to year. In this study, the researcher only analyzed the refractive thinking process of one subject who used a single strategy in decision making. The subject was asked to think aloud. The results showed that students who carried out the refractive thinking process with a single strategy only needed one alternative solution to make a decision, namely by summing up the contributions of each city per year. The subject only identified the comparison of the amount and increase in the contribution of each city as a consideration for making a decision.

Abstract

Covid-19 impacts the world of education, so learning is carried out online due to a policy of maintaining distance. One of the methods used to keep the learning going in the pandemic era is by utilizing e-learning. The use of applications in online learning is an innovation for teachers in preparing material to be used in the online learning management process. The purpose of this study aims to describe learning management using Google Sites in pandemic at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Singosari. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data collection methods used in this study were interview, observation, and documentation during the learning process. The subject of this study were students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Singosari. Online learning management during pandemic conditions includes planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring. Online learning will be carried out with the help of Google Sites as a medium for delivering material. The planning stage includes observation, preparation of lesson plans, collection of material sources, and preparation of learning media using Google Sites. The organizing stage includes determining the communication channels used for the online learning process and focusing resources on the target. The implementation stage is the interaction carried out by teachers and students during learning. The supervision stage includes the evaluation stage in learning. Learning evaluation is carried out through student attendance and student activeness in participating in learning. Student attendance recap shows an increase in each meeting. The use of Google Sites as a learning medium during the pandemic can be further developed to increase student motivation and make it easier for students to learn while carrying out online learning.

Abstract

Program pendampingan pengelolaan sampah anorganik dilaksanakan di Desa Jambangan, Kecamatan Dampit, Kabupaten Malang, bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah yang lebih baik. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pembentukan struktur organisasi, sosialisasi terkait bahaya dan pemilahan sampah, serta kerja sama dengan pengepul sampah. Mitra kegiatan terdiri dari remaja masjid, warga desa, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Malang, dan pengepul sampah. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pemilahan sampah anorganik sebesar 45%. Pembentukan struktur organisasi meningkatkan efisiensi pengelolaan sampah, sementara kerja sama dengan pengepul memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat. Program ini berhasil memperkenalkan prinsip 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) yang berdampak pada pengurangan volume sampah.Kesimpulannya, kegiatan ini efektif menciptakan sistem pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan yang terorganisir dan memberikan manfaat lingkungan serta ekonomi. Rekomendasi mencakup penguatan dukungan pemerintah dan LSM, serta perluasan cakupan program melalui edukasi berkelanjutan. Assistance in Inorganic Waste Management in Jambangan Village, Dampit District, Malang Regency The inorganic waste management assistance program was conducted in Jambangan Village, Dampit District, Malang Regency, aiming to raise community awareness of better waste management practices. The implementation methods included forming an organizational structure, conducting awareness campaigns on waste hazards and segregation, and collaborating with waste collectors. Program partners consisted of mosque youth, village residents, the Malang Regency Environmental Office, and waste collectors. The results showed a 45% increase in community awareness of inorganic waste segregation. The establishment of an organizational structure improved the efficiency of waste management, while collaboration with collectors provided economic benefits for the community. This program successfully introduced the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), contributing to significant waste volume reduction. In conclusion, this activity effectively created a sustainable and organized waste management system, benefiting both the environment and the local economy. Recommendations include strengthening government and NGO support and expanding the program's reach through continuous education

Abstract

This study examines the difficulties in learning mathematics experienced by fifth grade students of MI Wahid Hasyim. The main objective is to identify the forms of difficulties and the factors causing them. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observations, written tests, and document studies. The research sample involved 22 students (10 males and 12 females) from fifth grade of MI Wahid Hasyim Pakis Malang. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, presentation of results, and verification of conclusions. The research findings show that most students have not met the KKM (Minimum Completion Criteria), with the main obstacles including difficulty in understanding questions, weak mastery of mathematical concepts, inappropriate use of formulas and symbols, and limitations in problem-solving steps. The causes of these difficulties come from two aspects, namely internal factors (such as less active learning attitudes, intelligence levels, low motivation, and lack of interest in learning) and external factors (including family economic conditions, family relationship dynamics, curriculum policies, availability of learning media, school facilities, and the influence of the social environment). ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji kesulitan belajar matematika yang dialami siswa kelas V MI Wahid Hasyim. Tujuan utamanya adalah mengidentifikasi bentuk kesulitan serta faktor penyebabnya. Metode yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, tes tertulis, dan studi dokumen. Sampel penelitian melibatkan 22 siswa (10 laki-laki dan 12 perempuan) dari kelas V MI Wahid Hasyim Pakis Malang. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap: reduksi data, penyajian hasil, dan verifikasi kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa belum memenuhi KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum), dengan hambatan utama meliputi kesulitan memahami soal, lemahnya penguasaan konsep matematika, penggunaan rumus dan simbol yang tidak tepat, serta keterbatasan dalam langkah penyelesaian masalah. Penyebab kesulitan ini berasal dari dua aspek, yaitu faktor internal (seperti sikap belajar kurang aktif, tingkat kecerdasan, motivasi rendah, dan kurangnya minat belajar) dan faktor eksternal (termasuk kondisi ekonomi keluarga, dinamika hubungan keluarga, kebijakan kurikulum, ketersediaan media pembelajaran, fasilitas sekolah, serta pengaruh lingkungan sosial).

Abstract

This study aims to improve the poetry musicalization ability of grade XI students at SMAN 1 Bululawang through the expression training method and digital modeling. Poetry musicalization is a form of literary appreciation combining sound, rhythm, and meaning in poetry through music. The problem raised in this study is the low ability of students to express poetry, which is caused by low levels of self-confidence and lack of training. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a mix method approach which is implemented in two cycles, each consisting of the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were grade XI-9 students at SMAN 1 Bululawang, Malang. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and assessment of student performance in the poetry musicalization project. The results of the study indicate that the application of the expression training method and digital modeling can improve students' abilities in the aspects of appreciation, pronunciation, rhythm, and musical creativity. This study concludes that the combination of the two methods is effective for supporting literary appreciation learning, especially in poetry musicalization activities, and can foster students' self-confidence and creativity. The academic implications of this study show that the application of expression practice methods and digital modeling can not only improve students' musical skills, but can also be used as an alternative effective learning strategy in Indonesian subjects at the high school level. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan musikalisasi puisi peserta didik kelas XI di SMAN 1 Bululawang melalui metode latihan ekspresi dan digital modelling. Musikalisasi puisi merupakan bentuk apresiasi sastra yang menggabungkan unsur bunyi, irama, dan makna dalam puisi melalui musik. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam mengekspresikan puisi, yang disebabkan oleh rendahnya tingkat percaya diri dan kurang nya latihan yang diberikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan mix method yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI-9 di SMAN 1 Bululawang Kabupaten Malang. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan penilaian kinerja peserta didik dalam proyek musikalisasi puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode latihan ekspresi dan digital modelling dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam aspek penghayatan, pelafalan, ritme, dan kreativitas musikal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa adanya kombinasi kedua metode tersebut efektif untuk mendukung pembelajaran apresiasi sastra, khususnya dalam kegiatan musikalisasi puisi, serta dapat menumbuhkan kepercayaan diri dan kreativitas peserta didik. Implikasi akademik dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode latihan ekspresi dan digital modelling bukan hanya dapat meningkatkan kemampuan musikalisasi peserta didik, tetapi juga dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran efektif dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di jenjang SMA.

Abstract

Understanding character traits and moral values in novel learning is a crucial aspect of strengthening character education and literary literacy. This study aims to describe the implementation of the role-playing technique to improve students’ understanding of character traits and moral values in novel learning. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 34 students of class XII IPS 1 at SMAN 1 Bululawang in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and written tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests, with data analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results indicated a significant improvement in students' ability to analyze character traits and understand moral values after the implementation of role-playing. These findings suggest that learning based on direct experience and social interaction, as explained in the constructivist theories of Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky, is effective in literature learning. The implications of this study demonstrate that role-playing can serve as an enjoyable contextual learning strategy while also enhancing students' social skills, empathy, critical thinking, and collaboration. ABSTRAKPemahaman terhadap karakter tokoh dan nilai moral dalam pembelajaran novel merupakan aspek penting dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter dan literasi sastra. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik role playing untuk meningkatkan pemahaman karakter tokoh dan nilai moral dalam pembelajaran novel. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 34 peserta didik kelas XII IPS 1 SMAN 1 Bululawang Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, serta tes tertulis berupa pre-test dan post-test, dengan analisis data secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan peserta didik menganalisis karakter tokoh dan memahami nilai moral setelah penerapan role playing. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman langsung dan interaksi sosial sebagaimana dijelaskan dalam teori konstruktivisme oleh Jean Piaget dan Lev Vygotsky, efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran sastra. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa role playing dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran kontekstual yang menyenangkan, sekaligus memperkuat keterampilan sosial, empati, berpikir kritis, dan kolaboratif peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the character building management with the concept of love in LPI Malang. The research method used is a qualitative method by using data collecting technique such as interview, observation, and documentation. Objects in this study are in LPI Malang. The conclusion that can be gained from this research is that the character building management in LPI Malang City uses the concept of loving 360 degree, covering love to Allah and Prophet, love of parent/ teacher, love fellow, love excellence, love self, love science and technology , love of the natural surroundings, the love of the nation and the country that is integrated in all learning activities in school.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the ability of prospective mathematics teacher students to solve problems based on their learning styles, namely visual, auditory and kinesthetic. The ability to solve mathematical problems is an important skill that prospective teachers need to develop to support effective learning. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving students from the mathematics teacher education program at Wisnuwardhana University. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation, and analyzed using a thematic approach. The results showed that the visual learning style dominates (50%), followed by auditory (30%) and kinesthetic (20%). Students with a visual learning style show the highest ability in solving problems involving graphical representations and diagrams, with an average score of 75%. Auditory students excel in understanding material through verbal explanations and discussions, with an average score of 65%, while kinesthetic students are more effective in direct practice-based learning, with an average score of 60%. Adapting teaching methods to suit students' learning styles, such as integrated visualization, verbal discussions, and direct practice activities, is highly recommended to increase the effectiveness of mathematics learning. This research contributes to the development of more inclusive and adaptive curricula and learning strategies in higher education, taking into account the needs of students' learning styles. It is hoped that the results of this research can create a learning environment that supports the development of optimal problem solving abilities for prospective mathematics teacher students. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam memecahkan masalah berdasarkan gaya belajar yang mereka miliki, yaitu visual, auditori, dan kinestetik. Kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika merupakan keterampilan penting yang perlu dikembangkan oleh calon guru untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan mahasiswa dari program pendidikan guru matematika di Universitas Wisnuwardhana. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, dan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya belajar visual mendominasi (50%), diikuti oleh auditori (30%) dan kinestetik (20%). Mahasiswa dengan gaya belajar visual menunjukkan kemampuan tertinggi dalam memecahkan masalah yang melibatkan representasi grafis dan diagram, dengan skor rata-rata 75%. Mahasiswa auditori unggul dalam memahami materi melalui penjelasan verbal dan diskusi, dengan skor rata-rata 65%, sementara mahasiswa kinestetik lebih efektif dalam pembelajaran berbasis praktik langsung, dengan skor rata-rata 60%. Penyesuaian metode pengajaran yang sesuai dengan gaya belajar mahasiswa, seperti integrasi visualisasi, diskusi verbal, dan kegiatan praktik langsung, sangat direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan kurikulum dan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inklusif dan adaptif di pendidikan tinggi, dengan mempertimbangkan kebutuhan gaya belajar mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang optimal bagi mahasiswa calon guru matematika.

Abstract

Abstrak: Berakhirnya pandemi Covid-19 di masa sekarang ini membawa dampak pada dunia pendidikan, salah satunya peralihan pelaksanaan pembelajaran secara daring menuju luring. Dengan demikian, agar perubahan tidak terlalu signifikan dan tidak meninggalkan kebiasaan sebelumnya, maka dilakukan suatu pembelajaran blended learning. Hal ini dilakukan agar pelaksanaan pembelajaran tetap daring namun juga tidak meninggalkan tatap muka dengan pendidik. Prinsip yang dapat mengolaborasikan kedua aktivitas tersebut adalah penerapan prinsip PEDATI (Pelajari, Dalami, Terapkan, Evaluasi). Model blended learning dirancang dengan memadukan pembelajaran tatap muka dan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang bersifat daring (online). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan desain pembelajaran PEDATI dalam Model Blended Learning di Universitas Wisnuwardhana. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan studi pustaka. Penelitian ini dimual dengan mempersiapkan konten matakuliah Profesi Kependidikan pada LMS Universitas. Hasil yang dicapai pada penelitian ini adalah desain pembeajaran PEDATI dalam Model Blended Learning yang meliputi: 1) PElajari; 2) DAlami; 3) Terapkan; dan 4) evaluasI. Desain PEDATI pada Model Blended Learning di Universitas Wisnuwardhana diharapkan dapat memberi referensi atau rujukan bagi pendidik dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran di Perguruan Tinggi.Abstract:  The end of the current COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the world of education, one of which is the transition from online to offline learning. Thus, so that changes are not too significant and do not abandon previous habits, blended learning is carried out. This is done so that learning remains online but also does not involve face-to-face contact with educators. The principle that can collaborate these two activities is the application of the PEDATI principle (Learn, Explore, Apply, Evaluate). The blended learning model is designed by combining face-to-face learning and online information and communication technology. This research aims to describe the PEDATI learning design in the Blended Learning Model at Wisnuwardhana University. Qualitative descriptive methods were used with data collection techniques in the form of observation and literature study. This research began by preparing the content for the Education Professionals course at the University's LMS. The results achieved in this research are the PEDATI learning design in the Blended Learning Model which includes: 1) LEARN; 2) Natural; 3) Apply; and 4) evaluation. It is hoped that the PEDATI design in the Blended Learning Model at Wisnuwardhana University can provide a reference for educators in carrying out learning in higher education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the crucial role of instructional media in supporting contextual learning. However, many elementary schools in Malang City still face limitations in media resources. Initial observations found that the use of teaching modules without adequate illustrations makes it difficult for students to understand abstract concepts of geometric shapes. The focus of this research is to analyze these media limitations and identify effective solutions to improve student understanding. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving students, teachers, and the principal. Data were collected through interviews, observations, document studies, and questionnaires, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results confirmed that the limitations of visual media make it difficult for students to differentiate, illustrate, and draw geometric shapes. The main finding is that the implementation of creative and technological solutions, such as the use of posters, animated videos, the creation of geometric shape miniatures, and GeoGebra software, proved effective in improving student understanding, creativity, and engagement. It is concluded that technological adaptation and a variety of instructional media are crucial for overcoming the limitations of contextual learning of abstract material and developing 21st-century skills. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh krusialnya peran media pembelajaran dalam mendukung pembelajaran kontekstual, namun kenyataannya banyak sekolah dasar di Kota Malang masih menghadapi keterbatasan media. Observasi awal menemukan bahwa penggunaan modul ajar tanpa ilustrasi memadai menyebabkan siswa kesulitan memahami konsep abstrak bangun ruang. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis keterbatasan media tersebut dan mengidentifikasi solusi efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, melibatkan siswa, guru, dan kepala sekolah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, studi dokumen, dan kuesioner, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian mengonfirmasi bahwa keterbatasan media visual menyebabkan siswa kesulitan membedakan, mengilustrasikan, dan menggambar bangun ruang. Temuan utama adalah bahwa penerapan solusi kreatif dan teknologi, seperti penggunaan poster, video animasi, pembuatan miniatur bangun ruang, dan perangkat lunak Geogebra, terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman, kreativitas, dan keaktifan siswa. Disimpulkan bahwa adaptasi teknologi dan variasi media pembelajaran sangat penting untuk mengatasi keterbatasan pembelajaran kontekstual materi abstrak dan mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21.
