Abstract

Analysis of the effectiveness of field goals and turnover on the men's team at DBL Yogyakarta Series 2021 AbstractThis study aims to analyze the effectiveness of field goals and turnovers of each men's basketball team competing in the DBL Yogyakarta series 2021. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive analysis. The data collection process is carried out by taking statistics on the men's match DBL Yogyakarta series 2021, which is available on the PERBASI website. The results of this study showed that: 1) 1) Teams that advance to the finals have an average eFG% of 44.33% and TOV% of 21.84%, 2) Teams that advance to the semifinals have an average eFG% of 28.47% and TOV% of 24.82%, 3) Teams that advance to the quarterfinals have an average eFG% of 33.26% and TOV% 35%, 4) Teams that fall in the preliminaries have an average eFG% of 24.65% and TOV% 41.89%. The results of this study prove that the higher the eFG% and the lower the TOV% is the key to a team's success in finding a victory so that it can be an input for the coach in evaluating and improving the exercise process.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the variables that impact the development of mental toughness. This study aimed to determine the relationship between mental toughness and self-confidence in adolescent pencak silat athletes. The quantitative description method was used in this study. This study used a purposive sampling technique for the sample. The study population amounted to one hundred and fifty athletes, with a sample of fifty teenage athletes who were members of the martial arts clubs Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate, Merpati Putih, and Perisai Diri. The data acquisition method carried out during this period consisted of questionnaires and observations. The instruments used in this study were Pratama's self-confidence scale and Sella's mental toughness scale. The data analysis method used simple regression with SPSS. The findings of this study indicate that the self-confidence of adolescent pencak silat athletes is in the "low" category by 14% (7 athletes), "medium" by 72% (36 athletes), and "high" by 14% (7 athletes). At the same time, the mental toughness of adolescent pencak silat athletes is in the "low" category by 20% (10 athletes), "medium" by 64% (32 athletes), and "high" by 16% (8 athletes). The findings of the linear regression analysis show an F value of 70.919 with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. This indicates that the mental toughness variable (Y) is influenced by the self-confidence variable (X) in adolescent pencak silat athletes. Based on data analysis, the R-squared value is 0.596 if it is presented to 59.6%, which indicates that self-confidence affects the mental toughness of adolescent martial arts athletes. This study shows that self-confidence plays a vital role in the mental strength of adolescent martial arts athletes. Future research is recommended to expand the scope of research to include other aspects that impact athletes' mental toughness. The practical implication is the importance of targeted mental training to increase self-confidence and manage stress in adolescent martial arts athletes.

Abstract

So far there has been no study that has carried out mapping of study programs, facilities and infrastructure including laboratories and health services offered to the community. Judging from the literature review at all Sports Faculties in Indonesia, the aim of this research is to map the potential of sports faculties throughout Indonesia through study programs, laboratories and service facilities so that the potential of sports faculties is known. This research method involves collecting data from libraries and exploring research objects using various sources of library information, such as books, encyclopaedias, scientific journals, newspapers, magazines, and digital documents. The sample for this literature study consisted of 15 campuses that have sports faculties. Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta has the greatest number of sports study programmes among all campuses. UNM offers a sports faculty provided with appropriate and diverse related laboratories. There are five campuses, namely UPI, UNJA, UNIMA, UNDIKSHA, and UNCEN, which provide limited information about their laboratories. Currently, only UNESA, UM, and UNY have virtually identical quantitative measures. Surabaya and Yogyakarta State Universities own the majority of service facilities, while other sports campuses require new facilities to produce financial resources for universities and provide services to the public and academic community. Collaboration among sports institutions in Indonesia is necessary to cultivate proficient sports graduates across different locations. In addition to fostering healthy rivalry among sports faculties to promote their development, each campus should also seek suitable benchmarks based on their unique qualities, ensuring that each sports faculty have distinct advantages. There is a hope to establish sports universities in Indonesia as part of long-term planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between anthropometric variables and biomotor abilities with gymnastics potential in elementary school students. The research method used a correlational quantitative approach involving 106 fourth and fifth grade students aged 9–11 years at SD Negeri 1 Gentan. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements (height, weight, arm span, sitting height) and biomotor ability tests (flexibility, core muscle strength, coordination). Data analysis was performed using Pearson's correlation test and multiple regression using SPSS. The results of the study showed that: (1) Height was significantly correlated with arm span (r = 0.687; p < 0.01) and sitting height (r = 0.434; p < 0.01), but not with biomotor ability; (2) Sit height has a positive relationship with core muscle strength (plank) (r = 0.346; p < 0.01), while arm span has a negative correlation (r = -0.209; p < 0.05); (3) Biomechanical abilities such as flexibility (split) and body rotation (air turn) are significantly correlated (r = 0.775 and r = 0.676; p < 0.01), but are not directly influenced by anthropometric variables. The conclusions of this study indicate that gymnastics potential is more influenced by technical training and flexibility than by body structure, although certain anthropometric variables such as sitting height and arm span play a role in core muscle stability. The implications of this study highlight the importance of combining anthropometric monitoring with structured biomotor training programs for the development of gymnastics potential in elementary school students.
