Abstract

A composite is a material formed from a combination of two or more constituent materials using a heterogeneous mixing process, whose mechanical properties vary. The aim of this research is to compare the tensile strength values ​​of abaca banana stem fiber polyester composites with variations in fiber orientation. The fiber orientation used is parallel, random and woven. The method used is a hand lay-up press with a fiber volume fraction of 30% and the resin itself uses BQTN 157 EX polyester resin with a hand lay-up method using a glass mold. The test was carried out by tensile testing using the ASTM D3039 measurement standard and macro photos. The results of research on tensile testing show that composites with variations in parallel fiber orientations reinforced with abaca banana stem fibers have an average tensile strength of 39.63 MPa, variations in random fiber orientation have an average tensile strength of 32.87 MPa and variations in fiber orientation woven has an average tensile strength of 25.90 MPa. From the results of macro photo fracture observations, it was found that the type of fracture is a brittle fracture on an uneven fracture surface which causes fiber pull-out where the fibers appear to be coming out of the specimen because the matrix and fibers are not strongly bonded and the fracture is also caused by voids near the fibers.

Abstract

Abstrak Alat biopelet merupakan teknologi yang dimanfaatkan untuk mengolah biomassa menjadi bahan bakar padat berbentuk pelet sebagai sumber energi alternatif. Untuk memastikan alat ini beroperasi dengan optimal dan aman, penting untuk memiliki pemahaman yang jelas tentang cara pengoperasian dan perawatannya. Namun, media panduan yang sederhana dan mudah dibawa masih belum tersedia, sehingga diperlukan modul saku yang praktis dan terstruktur sebagai dukungan dalam penggunaan alat biopelet di lapangangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan modul saku pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin pelet biomassa cetakan datar kapasitas 5 kg/jam yang layak dan efektif digunakan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan isi bahwa ahli materi I diperoleh 87,63%, ahli materi II diperoleh 88,5% dengan kategori sangat layak. Untuk aspek kelayakan bahasa, ahli materi I diperoleh 89,7%, ahli materi II diperoleh 88,2%. Sementara aspek kelayakan media bahwa dari ahli media I diperoleh 84% dan ahli media II diperoleh 90%. Selain itu, hasil uji coba produk yang dilakukan kepada 40 pengguna diperoleh 88% dengan kategori sangat efektif. Abstract Bio-pellet equipment is a technology used to convert biomass into solid pellet fuel as an alternative energy source. To ensure safe and optimal operation, users must clearly understand proper operating and maintenance procedures. However, portable and user-friendly instructional media are still limited, highlighting the need for a practical and structured pocket module to support field operations. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a pocket module for the operation and maintenance of a flat die biomass pellet machine with a capacity 5 kg/h. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which comprises analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Content feasibility validation results showed scores of 87.63% and 88.50% from two material experts, both categorized as highly workable. Language feasibility scores were 89.70% and 88.20%. Media feasibility evaluation yielded scores of 84% and 90% from two media experts, also showing high feasibility. Product trials involving 40 users resulted in an effectiveness score of 88%, categorized as effective as a practical guide.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of students' lathe practices who are taught by using work preparation sheets and not using the work preparation sheets in turning practice. It is also to find out the differences in the learning outcomes of students in both classes during machining practice-training courses at the eleventh grade of SMK Negeri 1 Bireuen. The research method used was a True Experimental Design research method in which the implementation used a Posttest-Only Control Design type that compares the experimental class with the control class. The population in this study was class XI TPM Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 1 Bireuen which consisted of 2 classes with 58 students. Class XI TPM 1 was selected as the experimental class and class XI TPM 2 as the control class. The data collection was obtained from the results of the lathe practice. The results showed that the students of class XI TPM1 (experimental class) obtained an average value of turning the practice of 85.62. While the learning outcomes of class XI TPM2 students (control class) obtained an average value of 62.78 lathe practice. From these results, it can be concluded that learning outcomes using work preparation sheet learning during practice are better than those who do not use work preparation sheets during lathe practice.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry learning model on students' learning outcomes in motorcycle engine maintenance material at SMK Negeri 1 Kluet Selatan. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The research sample consists of two classes, namely the experimental class using the guided inquiry model and the control class using the conventional method. The data collection instrument is in the form of a learning outcome test that has been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of the data analysis (t-test), the significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates a difference in student learning outcomes on motorcycle engine maintenance material at SMK Negeri 1 Kluet Selatan between those using the Guided Inquiry learning model and those not using the Guided Inquiry model. The use of the Guided Inquiry learning model in the teaching process of motorcycle engine maintenance material, whether in individual or group learning, can provide more effective and efficient learning. Thus, the Guided Inquiry learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes in motorcycle engine maintenance material. This finding shows that the application of the appropriate learning model can improve the quality of education at SMK Negeri 1 Kluet Selatan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika memiliki peran penting dalam membangun pemahaman ilmiah terhadap fenomena kebencanaan. Salah satu konsep fisika yang relevan dalam konteks kebencanaan adalah gelombang mekanik, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan gempa bumi dan tsunami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran gelombang berbasis etnofisika kebencanaan terhadap pemahaman konsep fisika dan literasi kebencanaan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen tipe nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah Manajemen Kebencanaan, yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan pembelajaran gelombang yang mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal masyarakat pesisir Aceh, sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pemahaman konsep gelombang dan angket literasi kebencanaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep gelombang mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol berdasarkan analisis nilai N-Gain. Selain itu, literasi kebencanaan mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen juga lebih baik, terutama dalam mengaitkan konsep gelombang mekanik dengan fenomena kebencanaan dan mitigasi berbasis sains. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran gelombang berbasis etnofisika kebencanaan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep fisika dan literasi kebencanaan mahasiswa.
