Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic caused significant changes to lifestyle that affect adolescents’ dietary patterns and physical activity. The purpose of this educational activity is to increase the knowledge and awareness of adolescents to maintain their diet and physical activity in the mids of the Covid-19 pandemic. 30 adolescents actively participated in online education activities. The material presented consisted of 4 topics, namely 1) Tumpeng Gizi, 2) Balanced Nutrition Guidelines; 3) My Plate and 4) The importance of physical activity for adolescents. The education is presented using presentation and educational video with total duration of 60 minutes. The results show that there was no difference of correct answer on ‘Question 1’ (100%) and ‘Question 5’ (67%) about Tumpeng Gizi and physical activity. There was increase of correct answer on ‘Question 2’ (100%) and ‘Question 3’ (87%) about recommendation of sugar and salt intake. However, there was a decrease of correct answer on ‘Question 4’ (50%) about how to manage balanced nutrition intake. We hope that the education can be continued with focus of improving skill on how to manage the balanced nutrition intake among adolescents.   ABSTRAK Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan perubahan yang signifikan pada kebiasaan gaya hidup sehingga berpengaruh terhadap pola makan dan aktivitas fisik remaja. Tujuan kegiatan edukasi ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran remaja putri untuk tetap menjaga pola makan dan aktivitas fisik di tengah pandemi Covid-19. Sebanyak 30 orang ikut aktif berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan edukasi dengan metode penyuluhan yang dilakukan secara daring. Materi yang disampaikan terdiri dari 4 topik yaitu 1) Tumpeng Gizi Seimbang; 2) Pedoman Gizi seimbang; 3) Isi Piringku dan 4) Pentingnya Aktivitas Fisik bagi Remaja. Materi disajikan dalam bentuk presentasi dan video edukasi selama 60 menit. Penilai keberhasilan edukasi menggunakan kuesioner pre dan post-test yang terdiri dari 5 pertanyaan dengan pilihan jawaban ganda. Hasil evaluasi edukasi menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan jumah responden yang menjawab dengan benar pada ‘Soal 1’ (100%) tentang tumpeng gizi dan ‘ Soal 5’ (67%) tentang aktivitas fisik. Ada peningkatan jumlah responden yang menjawab dengan benar pada ‘Soal 2’ (100%), dan ‘Soal 3‘ (87%) tentang asupan gula dan garam yang tepat. Namun, ada penurunan jumlah responden yang menjawab ‘Soal 4’ tentang menjaga asupan gizi yang tepat yaitu 15 orang (50%). Kami berharap kegiatan ini dapat dilanjutkan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan remaja bagaimana mengatur dan mengontrol agar asupan gizi tetap terjaga sesuai kebutuhan selama pandemi.

Abstract

Gizigo actively provides nutrition education on various scientific articles, webinars and posters through social media such as Instagram. Website-based education has been widely applied in Indonesia to spread nutrition information. The purpose of this community service program is to provide training and assistance for Gizigo in order to improve the quality of education so that they can develop more productive, innovative and adaptive education methods. The core activity is to increase the knowledge and skills to support improving the quality and productivity of partners by giving the training about Nutritional Education Content and Financial And Tax Management for Startup. The topic and case study provided were quite interesting and applicable in the education field. The result of of the activity are health education content material and pre-post test score. It is important to begin to capture and report on the cost and cost effectiveness on internet based health education

Abstract

Inadequate nutrient intake during the first 1000 days plays a role in increasing multiple nutritional problems and chronic diseases in the future. In addition, the quality of human resources will be hampered due to low cognitive abilities in the long term. The objective of this nutrition education is to increase the mother’s knowledge about the first 1000 days. The education was carried out using presentation and discussion. 121 respondents were members of the family health community. The education is held online once a week in November 2021. The material provided consists of 4 educational sessions, namely (1) Nutrition for pregnancy, (2) Nutrition for breastfeeding mother, (3) Nutrition for infant aged 6-24 months; and (4) The importance of appropriate complementary feeding. The measurement of knowledge was carried out using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The result showed that 49 participants (40,5%) experienced an increase in knowledge which was indicated by higher score in post-test than pre-test. A total 47 participants (38,9%) had the same score before and after education. Howeverm there were 25 participants (20,6%) who had lower score of post-test than pre-test. An increase in nutritional knowledge is expected to increase the ability to meet the nutritional needs of 1000 HPK. This nutrition education can be continued with nutrition training to improve the ability to meet nutritional needs. ABSTRAK Asupan gizi yang tidak optimal pada masa 1000 HPK berperan meningkatkan beban masalah gizi ganda dan penyakit kronis di masa depan. Disamping itu, kualitas sumber daya manusia akan terhambat akibat rendahnya kemampuan kognitif pada jangka panjang. Kegiatan edukasi gizi ini  bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu tentang 1000 HPK. Kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan metode edukasi ceramah dan diskusi. Peserta terdiri dari 121 orang yang merupakan anggota komunitas dan ikut aktif pada seluruh sesi edukasi. Edukasi dilaksanakan secara daring setiap satu minggu sekali pada Bulan November 2021. Materi yang diberikan terdiri dari 4 sesi edukasi yaitu (1) Asupan gizi optimal pada ibu hami; (2) Asupan gizi optimal ibu menyusui; (3) Asupan gizi optimal bayi usia 6-24 bulan; dan (4) Pemberian MP-ASI yang tepat. Pengukuran peningkatan pengetahuan dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 49 peserta (40,5%) mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai post-test lebih tinggi daripada nilai pre-test. Sejumlah 47 peserta (38,9%) memiliki nilai nilai yang sama sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Namun, terdapat 25 peserta (20,6%) memiliki nilai post-test lebih rendah dibandingkan nilai pre-test. Adanya peningkatan pengetahuan gizi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan gizi pada 1000 HPK. Edukasi gizi ini diharapkan dapat dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan gizi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan gizi.

Abstract

Masa 1000 HPK merupakan golden period yang menentukan tumbuh kembang anak di masa depan. Guna mewujudkan tumbuh kembang maksimal perlu terpenuhinya kebutuhan gizi di masa 1000 HPK. Pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi dapat optimal jika pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan kemampuan ibu tentang gizi baik. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang gizi masa 1000 HPK. Edukasi gizi diberikan melalui WAG dan zoom agar dapat menjangkau peserta komunitas yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia. Sampel pada kegiatan ini dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling yang harus memenuhi kriteria inklusi yaitu peserta yang mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan edukasi dan mengisi lembar pretest dan posttest. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan diperoleh sebanyak 4 (19%) responden memiliki skor pengetahuan 100 sebelum diberikan edukasi dan setelah diberikan edukasi menjadi 15 (71,4%) responden yang mendapatkan skor pengetahuan 100. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan ada peningkatan skor pengetahuan tentang gizi 1000 HPK setelah diberikan edukasi. Edukasi yang diberikan secara terus menerus dan konsisten akan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam memenuhi gizi di masa 1000 HPK. Pentingnya edukasi gizi untuk terus diberikan kepada masyarakat, dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang saat ini terus berkembang. Pemberian edukasi bisa melalui media sosial yang bisa menjangkau masyarakat luas.

Abstract

Nutritional issues among college students can impact various health problems, such as the risk of degenerative diseases, psychosocial issues, and academic performance. Indonesia and Malaysia are both developing countries facing the double burden of malnutrition. Prevention is required to combat the risk of double burden of malnutrition, such as education on nutritional issues. This activity aimed to enhance college students' knowledge about nutritional problems and their solutions, thereby improving students' quality of life and psychosocial well-being. The educational intervention involved 423 students from Indonesia and Malaysia. Based on evaluation, there was improvement in knowledge as much as 45.9% (pre-test 36.6 and post-test 53.4). This education activity was successfully improved students' knowledge about nutritional issues, thus the college students will improve their eating habits and lifestyles to avoid malnutrition.

Abstract

Provision of appropriate complementary foods (MPASI) is essential to meet children's nutritional needs. There are several indicators for conveying opinions regarding the provision of MPASI, one of which is related to the variety of food ingredients in MPASI. Monitoring is needed to ensure that the MPASI provided is in accordance with recommendations. The purpose of this activity is to improve the knowledge and abilities of Posyandu cadres in monitoring the provision of MPASI using the 1x24 hour Recall method. The methods used are lectures and role-playing practices. The increase in cadre knowledge is measured by pre-post tests. The activity was attended by 40 Posyandu cadres and village midwives. The results of the activity were that overall the cadres experienced an increase in knowledge and were able to apply the 1x24 hour recall method in the implementation of MPASI presentation screenings in terms of food diversity

Abstract

Obesity among adolescents remains a major health issue in Indonesia. According to data from the 2018 Basic Health Research, 16.0% of adolescents aged 12-15 years and 13.5% of adolescents aged 16-18 years are overweight or obese. Low literacy in reading food labels and nutritional value information can influence the incidence of adolescent obesity. the aim of this activity is to increase teenagers' knowledge and attitudes towards reading food labels and understanding nutritional information on packaged foods, thereby potentially reducing the incidence of obesity in adolescents. The education activity involved 42 students who actively participated in the entire educational series. It was focus on providing participants with a comprehensive overview of food labels and nutritional information, as well as instructions on how to read and interpret nutritional value information on packaged foods. The topic was delivered through a 60-minute session using posters as the primary educational material. The effectiveness of the educational activity was measured using a pre-test and post-test questionnaire consisting of 5 closed-ended questions. The Wilcoxon statistical test indicated a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results, with a p-value of 0.004. The educational activity successfully enhanced the students' understanding of food labels and nutritional information. Future activities should focus on further improving students' skills in reading and applying this knowledge in their daily lives.

Abstract

Ibu hamil memiliki risiko lebih tinggi untuk mengalami anemia. Salah satu penyebab terjadinya anemia adalah terjadi peningkatan kebutuhan gizi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan ibu dan janin yang dikandung. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan anemia pada ibu hamil di Desa Petiken Kabupaten Gresik. Edukasi pencegahan anemia pada ibu hamil dilakukan pada tanggal 6 Agustus 2022 pukul 08.30. Sebanyak 15 (lima belas) ibu hamil ikut aktif berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan edukasi tersebut. Edukasi dilakukan secara langsung di Balai Desa Petiken Kabupaten Gresik menggunakan media Microsoft Power Point. Materi disampaikan menggunakan media Power Point yang terdiri dari 4 topik yaitu 1) Pengertian anemia; 2) Penyebab anemia; 3) Pencegahan Anemia dan 4) Tips konsumsi Tablet Tambah Darah (TTD). Hasil dari kegiatan ini dapat dilihat dari hasil pre-dan post-test yang telah dibagikan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Peserta secara mandiri mengisi kuesioner yang telah disediakan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 5 orang responden (33%) memiliki nilai sempurna. Responden tersebut sudah memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik. Sebanyak 10 orang responden (67%) menunjukkan adanya  peningkatan pengetahuan dengan adanya kenaikan nilai pre- dan post- test. Kegiatan edukasi pencegahan anemia pada ibu hamil memiliki manfaat positif bagi para responden.
