Abstract

The impact of the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java, was in the form of environmental damage and caused many fatalities. The problem that needs to be addressed is related to the adequacy of nutrition for high-risk groups of people, including infants and toddlers, whose nutritional status and food intake are often not monitored. As an effort to overcome nutritional problems that arose after the eruption of Mount Semeru in Candipuro Village, Lumajang Regency. Monitor the nutritional status of toddlers aged 6-59 months who are at the evacuation site in Candipuro Village by measuring the Upper Arm Circumference (LiLA) using the Toddler LiLA tape and carried out for 1 month from the preparation stage, implementation to activity reporting. This Community Service activity was carried out at the Candipuro Village evacuation site with a target of 25 toddlers aged 6-59 months, and the results showed that the Toddler LiLA measurement that was carried out was declared successful because the toddlers whose nutritional status was monitored were confirmed to have good nutritional status while in the evacuation location. This activity is prioritized for toddlers because infants and toddlers are the most vulnerable group and require special nutritional treatment in the technical response to health crises due to disasters. It is stated that monitoring toddlers' growth must be carried out every month so that if toddlers experience nutritional problems, they can be handled more quickly and resolved.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren (ponpes) adalah tempat berkumpulnya banyak orang dimana rentan terjadi penularan penyakit, terutama penularan penyakit pneumonia. Pneumonia merupakan salah satu penyakit infeksi yang mengenai saluran pernapasan bawah dengan tanda dan gejala seperti batuk dan sesak napas. Bacterial pneumonia, atau pneumonia bakterial adalah penyakit pada paru-paru yang disebabkan oleh infeksi bakteri. Bakteri ini masuk ke dalam paru-paru melalui saluran pernapasan atau peredaran darah. Sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya edukasi dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan santri untuk dapat mencegah terjadinya penyakit pneumonia di lingkungan pondok pesantren. Tujuannya adalah untuk Meningkatkan pemahaman dengan memberikan edukasi dan pengenalan kepada santri husada agar dapat mencegah potensi bakteri penyebab pneumonia di PP. Al Hikam Bangkalan sehingga dapat memutus rantai penularan lebih cepat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyuluhan adalah ceramah dan tanya jawab. Sebelum penyuluhan peserta diberi pre-test, kemudian setelah penyuluhan peserta diberi post-test. Hasil pre-test dan post-test dinilai kemudian dilakukan pengolahan data dan evaluasi. Hasil pre-test dan post-test mengenai pengenalan dan pencegahan potensi bakteri penyebab pneumonia melalui kuesioner secara langsung terjadi peningkatan nilai oleh santri yang mengikuti kegiatan ini. Persentase kenaikan nilai rata-rata adalah sebesar 16,1%. Kenaikan nilai rata-rata yang signifikan ini menunjukkan adanya perubahan tingkat pengetahuan pada peserta setelah mengikuti sesi penyuluhan. Pengenalan dan pencegahan potensi bakteri penyebab pneumonia di PP. Al Hikam Bangkalan telah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman terhadap penyakit pneumonia.

Abstract

Kelompok masyarakat yang rentan mengalami penurunan kebugaran akibat penyakit degeneratif adalah kelompok usia dewasa (19-59 tahun) dan salah satunya adalah Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) sekaligus sebagai anggota Pengurus Cabang Istimewa Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) Taiwan. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan pengurus PCINU Taiwan, masih sedikit anggota PCINU Taiwan yang aware dengan risiko penyakit degeneratif. Oleh karena itu diselenggarakan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa edukasi gizi dengan tujuan sebagai upaya preventif terjadinya penyakit degeneratif. Sasaran kegiatan adalah pekerja migran Indonesia dan peserta sebanyak 130 orang. Mitra kegiatan adalah PCINU Taiwan. Luaran yang diharapkan adalah peningkatan pengetahuan peserta kegiatan terkait dengan resiko penyakit degeneratif. Metode kegiatan adalah edukasi gizi secara daring melalui webinar terkait dengan sindrom metabolic dengan pretest dan posttest yang diberikan kepada peserta. Pada masing-masing tes terdapat 10 pertanyaan dengan skor maksimal 10. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya kecenderungan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta setelah pelaksanaan edukasi melalui webinar. Rerata skor pengetahuan pada saat pretest adalah 5,5 dengan rentang nilai 1-8 poin. Rerata skor pengetahuan pada saat posttest adalah 6,8 dengan rentang nilai 3-10 poin. Edukasi gizi dalam kegiatan ini cenderung dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan karena edukasi gizi merupakan suatu proses penyebarluasan informasi sesuai dengan masalah gizi yang dihadapi masyarakat.Kesimpulan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah pentingnya edukasi gizi dalam mengawali perubahan perilaku gizi yang lebih baik namun pelaksanaannya perlu dilakukan secara rutin dan terencana hingga mampu mengantarkan pada perubahan perilaku.

Abstract

This research investigates the determinant factors influencing the purchasing decisions of Indonesian students in Taiwan regarding uncertified halal food products. Despite the growing demand for halal products globally, the uncertainty surrounding the halal status of certain food items poses challenges, particularly for Muslim consumers. This study focuses on Indonesian students in Taiwan due to their unique position as international students residing in a country where halal certification may be less prevalent compared to their home country. Data was collected via structured questionnaires distributed among Indonesian students in various universities across Taiwan through a quantitative approach. The study employed multiple regression analysis to examine the relationships between several key variables, including trust, halal awareness, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, religiousness and attitudes toward purchasing uncertified halal food products. The findings reveal significant insights into the factors influencing purchasing decisions in this context. Trust emerges as a crucial factor, indicating that consumers’ confidence in the halal status of products, despite lacking certification, significantly influences their purchasing attitudes. Furthermore, perceived behavioral control plays a significant role, reflecting individuals’ perceived ability to access and acquire uncertified halal products. Subjective norms also demonstrate a notable impact, reflecting the influence of social expectations and support from important reference groups. Interestingly, religiousness does not emerge as a significant determinant, suggesting that other factors may overshadow its influence in this context. Trust and perceived behavioral control significantly influence purchasing attitudes and decisions toward uncertified halal food products. In contrast, religiosity and halal awareness have less impact, suggesting the need for further research into additional factors that shape consumer behavior.

Abstract

Nutritional issues among college students can impact various health problems, such as the risk of degenerative diseases, psychosocial issues, and academic performance. Indonesia and Malaysia are both developing countries facing the double burden of malnutrition. Prevention is required to combat the risk of double burden of malnutrition, such as education on nutritional issues. This activity aimed to enhance college students' knowledge about nutritional problems and their solutions, thereby improving students' quality of life and psychosocial well-being. The educational intervention involved 423 students from Indonesia and Malaysia. Based on evaluation, there was improvement in knowledge as much as 45.9% (pre-test 36.6 and post-test 53.4). This education activity was successfully improved students' knowledge about nutritional issues, thus the college students will improve their eating habits and lifestyles to avoid malnutrition.

Abstract

The nutritional issues faced by the elderly significantly affected the occurrence of non- communicable diseases (degenerative diseases), especially among elderly individuals with obesity. Education and nutrition training played an important role in preventing and managing these conditions through the promotion of balanced nutrition for the elderly. Nutritional education significantly reduced the risk of chronic diseases and increased individual awareness, particularly among the elderly, about the importance of implementing balanced nutrition. The main objective of this community service program was to enhance knowledge about balanced nutrition for the elderly to prevent and manage these conditions at the SMART Elderly School under the Abiyoso Gerontology Foundation in Malang City. The implementation of this community service activity included nutritional education using PowerPoint presentation materials, facilitating Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), conducting anthropometric measurements, and practicing the preparation of balanced nutritional menus for the elderly. Before and after the nutritional education, knowledge assessments regarding balanced nutrition for the elderly were conducted, with paired t-test analysis. The results showed significant data that improved the elderly's understanding of the causes, prevention, and management of non- communicable diseases. Therefore, the importance of regular activities in raising awareness among the elderly about the habit of applying balanced nutrition was highlighted.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kolesterol total merupakan kelainan lipoprotein darah yang dapat menyebabkan hiperlipidemia dan aterosklerosis. Ekstrak daun cempedak (Artocarpus champeden) mengandung metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, saponin, steroid, dan tanin, yang memiliki efek antioksidan, antiinflamasi, dan antihiperlipidemia. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun cempedak dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol total pada tikus wistar. Metode: Penelitian eksperimental, dengan rancangan pre-post test control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah 25 ekor tikus putih jantan galur Wistar, berumur 2 bulan, dan berat badan rata-rata 110 gram. Kemudian dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok, yaitu kontrol positif diet aterogenik modifikasi, kontrol negatif dasar, perlakuan 1 diet aterogenik modifikasi + Ekstrak Daun Cempedak 120mg/KgBB, perlakuan 2 diet aterogenik modifikasi + Ekstrak Daun Cempedak 360mg/KgBB, dan perlakuan 3 diet aterogenik modifikasi + Ekstrak Daun Cempedak 480mg/KgBB selama 14 hari. Hasil: Berdasarkan analisis data statistik Uji T-Sampel Berpasangan diperoleh hasil pada P1 (p=0,006), P2 (p=0,000), dan P3 (p=0,000) dimana p<0,05 menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan (penurunan) kadar kolesterol total sebelum dan sesudah diberikan Ekstrak Daun Cempedak (Artocarpus champeden). Kesimpulan: Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Cempedak (Artocarpus champeden) berpengaruh terhadap penurunan kadar kolesterol total pada tikus Wistar putih jantan obesitas yang diinduksi diet aterogenik.
