Abstract

[Improving the Basic Skills of Chemical Engineering Laboratories through Independent Practicum Assisted Using Virtual Laboratory Media during the Convid 19 Pandemic] Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui efektivitas media pembelajaran laboratorium virtual kimia teknik dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan dasar laboratorium mahasiswa pada saat belajar mandiri dirumah selama pandemi covid 19. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan termasuk kedalam penelitian tindakan dengan tahap penelitian seperti yang dikemukakan oleh (Susman & Evered, 1978) yang terdiri dari 5 tahap penelitian yang berbentuk siklus. Yang menjadi subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa S1 disalah satu program studi di Undiksha yang mengambil mata kuliah kimia teknik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar pengamatan keterampilan dasar laboratorium kimia teknik. Data kuantitatif dan kualitatif dianalisis dengan metode  mixed method menggunakan desain explanatory. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa pada siklus ke 2 mahasiswa telah mampu menunjukkan keterampilan dasar laboratorium kimia teknik setelah melaksanakan praktikum secara mandiri menggunakan laboratorium virtual kimia teknik yang telah dikembangkan. Peningkatan keterampilan dasar laboratorium kimia dapat diketahui terjadi pada setiap aspek keterampilan dasar laboratorium berdasarkan hasil pengamatan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and reduce static stress and increase the safety factor on the E-GASPOL vehicle frame. The type of development research used is the R2D2 type (Reflective, Recursive, Design and Development) which has three phases, namely defining, design and development and dissemination. The data analysis technique used is the finite element method, this method can solve static, dynamic, linear and non-linear problems. In this study, the static stress analysis of vehicle frame was carried out in conditions without rider load (the mass of the frame itself is 13.34 kg) and conditions with rider load (frame mass of 13.34 kg + average rider mass of 70 kg, so the total is 83.34 kg). The static stress analysis results on the four designs, the results of the modified vehicle frame design 3 have the best value, namely obtaining a maximum stress value of 1,255xN/m conditions without rider load, this result gets a decrease of 58.55% from the standard design and with a rider load of 7,699xN/m, this result gets a decrease of 58.56% from the standard design, the smaller the stress value obtained on a frame. The maximum displacement/deformation value of 1,453xmm conditions without rider load, this result gets a decrease of 77.718% from the standard design and with a rider load of 8,791xmm, this result gets a decrease of 78.10% from the standard design. From the data it can be concluded that the modified frame is better and stronger than the standard frame.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggambaran perbedaan daya mesin menggunakan pegas sentrifugal dengan diameter 10 mm ,11 mm, 12 mm pada kendaraan sepeda motor dengan sistem transmisi continuously variable transmission. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Metode eksperimen adalah metode penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kausal atau hubungan sebab akibat. Pengambilan data bertempat di SMK PGRI 2 Badung, Pengulangan pengujian dilakukan sebanyak 20 kali pada setiap variasi menggunakan alat ukur dynotest dengan menghidupkan kendaraan untuk mengetahui daya mesin yang dihasilkan pada putaran mesin 3000 rpm sampai 5000 rpm. Setelah melakukan proses pengujian maka didapatkan hasil penggambaran perbedaan daya mesin menggunakan pegas sentrifugal diameter 10 mm (variasi 1), 11 mm (standar), 12 mm (variasi 2). Setiap variasi memperoleh daya mesin tertinggi pada putaran mesin 4000 rpm. Daya mesin tertinggi diperoleh sebesar 7,5 HP menggunakan pegas sentrifugal dengan diameter 12 mm. Kemudian diperoleh sebesar 7,4 HP menggunakan pegas sentrifugal dengan diameter 11 mm. Selanjutnya diperoleh 7,3 HP menggunakan pegas sentrifugal dengan diameter 10 mm. Presentase peningkatan dan penurunan daya mesin antara pegas sentrifugal standar dengan variasi 2 mengalami peningkatan sebanya 1,4% dan penurunan daya mesin antara pegas sentrifugal standar dengan variasi 1 sebanyak 1,4%. Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan produk digital ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan prototipe dan tingkat kelayakan produk media pembelajaran audio visual berbasis CapCut pada mata pelajaran Teknik pengelasan Kelas XI SMK Negeri 3 Singaraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan metode 4D. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipilih peneliti untuk memenuhi kebutuhan data adalah metode campuran (kualitatif dan kuantitatif), peneliti memilih teknik pengumpulan data seperti analisis kebutuhan siswa, angket dan penilaian Rubrik. Tingkat kelayakan media pembelajaran diperoleh berdasarkan rubrik angket ahli media pembelajaran dan ahli materi pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh dua orang ahli media dan dua orang ahli materi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah, total rata-rata skor yang diberikan oleh kedua ahli media adalah 99 yang berkategori sangat baik. Sedangkan rata-rata nilai yang diberikan oleh kedua ahli materi adalah 97 yang berkategori sangat baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis CapCut termasuk dalam kategori media dengan tingkat kelayakan sangat baik dan dinilai relevan dengan kriteria media pembelajaran video yang baik. Selain itu, berdasarkan penilaian ahli, media yang dikembangkan dinilai layak digunakan untuk memperkaya pemahaman siswa khususnya pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pengelasan.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a project-based interactive e-module as a supplementary learning tool for vocational education. The e-module was designed to enhance students' understanding of machining techniques, with a particular focus on lathe machine operations, while improving their ability to apply theoretical concepts in practice. Following the 4D development model like Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. the study employed a product development approach. Feasibility assessments by subject matter and instructional media experts yielded scores of 89.16% and 85%, respectively. Practicality evaluations involving small and large student groups achieved scores of 89.66% and 94.66%. These findings indicate the e-module's effectiveness in promoting student engagement and learning outcomes. This research offers a novel approach by integrating project-based learning principles into a digital media complement for machining operations, providing a scalable, interactive, and practical solution to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in vocational education field.

Abstract

Understanding the fundamental concepts of chemical engineering often poses a challenge for students, primarily due to the complexity of the material and the necessity for critical thinking and in-depth analysis skills. This study aims to develop an educational adventure game as an innovative learning medium to improve students' comprehension of basic chemical engineering concepts. The game is designed using the waterfall development model, which comprises six stages: needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The game content integrates a case-method approach, where students actively assume the role of the main character tasked with solving various chemical engineering-related cases and challenges within an interactive virtual environment. Validation results demonstrate that the game is highly feasible as a learning medium, with a feasibility rating of 94% from subject matter experts and 90.5% from media experts. Trials conducted with small and large student groups revealed practicality levels of 97.07% and 96.8%, respectively, indicating that the game is both effective and well-received by students. The educational adventure game not only enhances learning motivation but also supports the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students. This research contributes to the advancement of innovative technology-based learning media for education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study is to determine fuel consumption and exhaust emissions due to addition of a ground strap to the spark plug coil cable using silver wire material. The silver wire was 0.8 mmdiameter and installed with number of turns of 255. This research was conducted since spark plug disturbance, due to electromagnetic field, decreases engine performance. This electromagnetic field occurs during electric current flows from battery to spark plug. This study applied experimental method with 10 repetitions of data collection. The results showed that the lowest specific fuel consumption reduction by 19.6% occured at 5000 rpm and the highest one by 29% occured at 8000 rpm when groundstrap was installed. Meanwhile, HC, CO and CO2 exhaust emissions decreased by 80.3%, 82.3% and 36.7%, repectively, after installation of groundstrap.

Abstract

This experiment aims was to determine the effect of variations temperature in expantion valve on the (COP)Coefficient Of Performance from an air conditioning engine prototype mini water chiller, the prototype mini water chiller was designed by students in the Mechanical Engineering Education, Undiksha. The method used in this research is experimental method. The testing process was carried out at the Refrigeration Engineering Laboratory in Mechanical Engineering Education, Undiksha. In this experiment, the variation of working temperature in  expantion valve is determined from 80C, 110C, 140C, 170C and 200C. The tool used to vary the temperature in expansion valve is a thermoelectric cooler. To calculate the (COP) Coefficient Of Performance from prototype mini water chiller, it is necessary to collect data temperature at every several measurement points at T1, T2, and T4. Then from the data acquisition, data processing is carried out to calculate the (COP) Coefficient Of Performance value. After testing, it was found an effect of variations working temperature in expantion valve on the (COP) Coefficient Of Performance from prototype mini water chiller. The lower working temperature in expantion valve, the (COP) Coefficient Of Performance from an air conditioning engine will increase.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of finding the effect of variations in the distance of the expansion valve with the evaporator on the performance of the type cooling machine Split AC. The method used in this research was the experimental method. The variation used in this research were the variation of the distance between the expansion valve and the evaporator by 1 meter, 2 meters, and 3 meters (standard), then the value sought in this study were the room cooling rate and COP (Coefficient of Performance). Data collection in this study was repeated 15 times. From the results of data collection and the calculation process, the room cooling rate has increased compared to the standard distance variation, which were 3 meters, where the highest room cooling rate occurs at a distance of 1 meter variation of 0.0876 Kj/s, so the smaller the expansion valve distance from the evaporator, the smaller the expansion valve distance from the evaporator. room cooling rate increases, and vice versa. And for the COP results from variations in the distance of the expansion valve with the evaporator decreased from the standard distance variation of 3 meters, where the lowest COP occurred at a distance variation of 1 meter by 33.58, so the smaller the distance of the expansion valve with the evaporator, the COP of the cooling machine decreased and vice versa.

Abstract

The development for an egg incubator prototype with the use of heat on the condenser side of the refrigerator belongs to  Research and Development (R&D) conductment with the aim of knowing the process of developing an egg incubator prototype by using heat on the condenser side of the refrigerator to find out the feasibility  level. The method in this study uses Quality Function Deployment (QFD), which is a method used in the early stages of product design and development that makes quality design of a product based on the market quality demand and order of the customer. The prototype development process undergo  several stages, including: preliminary survey to the farmer community, design, instrument validity testing, prototype making, media export testing and small group testing. Based on the calculation of the results of the validity test assessment by the instrument content expert, the content validity value of 1 which refers to the instrument validity criteria table is included in the very high validity criteria. Furthermore, based on the calculation of the validation results from the media expert test and the small group test, it gets a percentage of 100% for the media expert test and a percentage of 95.20% for the small group test and refers to the eligibility level qualification table with a scale of 5 in the very appropriate category without the need for revision, so that the  developed prototype egg incubator  are suitable for use and marketable for the industry.
