Abstract

Improvement of rice varieties in the highlands is very important considering the high effect of low temperatures on yield reduction, in addition to the production of variety quality, it needs to be considered in plant breeding activities, so that the F2 selection of red local rice crosses Toraja Pare Lea x Inpari is carried out. to select the F2 line from a cross of Pare Lea x Inpari 4 to get a superior character from the parent. The research was carried out in the rice fields of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tallunglipu District, North Toraja Regency. The research site is located at an altitude of about 750 m above sea level which was carried out from March 2019 to July 2019. This study used F1 seeds from a cross between Pare Lea x Inpari 4. This study used the Single Seed Discent (SSD) selection method. The observed characters are in the form of qualitative and quantitative characters of the results. The results showed that the diversity of characters of the F2 generation was very high, namely the average plant height of the line (115 - 150 Cm), the number of productive tillers (17 - 24), the age of harvest (120 - 145 Day), the number of pithy grain per panicle (236), weight of pithy grain per clump (126.7-143.6 g) and brown rice color (80%). Characters that had the highest positive correlation with increasing production (weight of pithy grain per clump) were the number of pithy grains per panicle (0.71), number of productive tillers (0.67), weight of 1000 seeds (0.25), and panicle length (0.24).

Abstract

Padi lokal memiliki keunggulan pada rasa dan aroma, namun memiliki produksi yang rendah dan umur panen yang lama sehingga kurang unggul. Upaya untuk memperbaiki genetik padi lokal adalah melalui persilangan buatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari tingkat keberhasilan persilangan, heterosis, karakter kualitatif dan kuantitatif F1, dan kekerabatan F1 dengan tetuanya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Tallunglipu, Kabupaten Toraja Utara dari Januari 2019 hingga Juli 2020. Metode persilangan yang digunakan yaitu single cross dan resiprocal cross menggunakan padi lokal aromatik Pare Bau dengan Inpari 4 sehingga diperoleh dua kombinasi persilangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase keberhasilan persilangan single cross sebesar 14,4% dan persilangan resiprok sebesar 25,5%. Karakter hasil F1 persilangan resiprok, jumlah gabah bernas per malai (164,2 gabah) dan bobot gabah bernas per rumpun (96,4 g), lebih tinggi dibandingkan F1 single cross. Karakter keharuman pada waktu berbunga terbaik dihasilkan oleh tanaman F1 single cross B1 senilai 92,2% dan B2 senilai 95%. Nilai heterosis dan heterobeltiosis tertinggi adalah F1 resiprok pada semua karakter yang diamati. Generasi F1 hasil single cross (B1 dan B2) memiliki kekerabatan dekat dengan Pare Bau, sedangkan generasi F1 hasil persilangan resiprok (RB1, RB2, RB3, RB4, dan RB5) membentuk kelompok genetik tersendiri tetapi memiliki kekerabatan dekat dengan Inpari 4. ABSTRACTThe rice landrace has a great taste and aroma, but has low yield and late maturity. The artificial crossing is one of ways to improve the genetics performance of the rice landrace. This study purposed to observe the success rate of crosses, heterosis, heterobeltiosis, qualitative and quantitative characters of F1, and genetic relationship of the F1with its parents. This research was conducted in Tallunglipu District, North Toraja Regency from January 2019 to July 2020. The crosses method used were single cross and reciprocal cross using local aromatic Pare Bau and Inpari 4 varieties in order to obtain two cross combinations. The results showed the success rate of the single cross was 14,4% and the reciprocal cross was 25,5%. The characteristics of the F1 reciprocal crosses, the number of fully developed grain per panicle (164,2 grain) and the weight of pithy grain per clump (96,4 g), was higher than the F1 single cross. The best level of aroma character at the time flowering was produced by F1 single cross i.e B1 92,2% and B2 95%. Resiprocal F1 had the highest value of heterosis and heterobeltiosis in all observed characters. Single cross lines (B1 and B2) were closely related to Pare Bau, while reciprocal cross lines (RB1, RB2, RB3, RB4, and RB5) formed separate genetic groups. However, reciprocal cross lines were closely related to Inpari 4.

Abstract

Efforts to increase rice production in the highlands which are hampered by cold temperatures continue to be made, one of which is by developing new varieties that are able to adapt to these conditions. The aim of this research was to test genetic diversity, heritability values, and test the performance of agronomic characters of several new types of F6 black and red rice resulting from crosses. This research was carried out in rainfed rice fields in Barana' Hamlet, Tikala District, North Toraja Regency at an altitude of 855 m above sea level. This research took place from May 2023 to December 2024. The planting material used in this research consisted of 6 promising F6 lines of black and red rice as well as the comparisons Inpari 4, Pare Lea, Pare Ambo and Pare Lallodo. This panel research was structured in the form of a randomized block design (RAK) with 3 replications so that there were 18 experimental plots. Each plot consists of 6 planting rows. The variables observed consisted of agronomic character components and organoleptic tests. Data analysis used analysis of variance (Anova) and the BNJ test level was 0.05. The results of the research show that the value of genetic diversity and phenotypic character of the new types of black and red F6 rice lines shows narrow criteria. The characteristics of the number of grain contents per panicle, weight of 100 seeds, panicle length and number of productive tillers had the best genetic diversity coefficient values. All the characters of the new black and red types of F6 rice lines have broad heritability values and high KGH. UKIT101-2-278-4, UKIT105-2-042-3 and UKIT105-2-042-5 lines had the best agronomic characteristics in terms of harvested dry grain weight per hectare, number of filled grains per panicle and number of productive tillers. UKIT101-2-278-2 and UKIT101-2-278-4 strains have rice in the criteria of the best taste and aroma.

Abstract

Sebagian besar lahan sawah Indonesia berada pada lokasi ketinggian yang memiliki suhu rendah yang berdampak buruk bagi produktivitas padi. Perakitan varietas unggul baru berproduksi tinggi telah banyak dilepas oleh Kementerian Pertanian, tetapi pada dasarnya hanya ditujukan pada kondisi lingkungan optimal padi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keragaan agronomi beberapa galur harapan F4 padi tipe baru hasil persilangan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada lahan sawah di empat Kecamatan di Kabupaten Tana Toraja dan Toraja Utara yaitu Kecamatan Bittuang dengan ketinggian 1400 m dpl, Kecamatan Rantebua (680 m dpl), Kecamatan Sesean (1600 m dpl), dan Kecamatan Tallunglipu (850 m dpl). Penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan Mei 2022 hingga Januari 2023. Penelitian ini disusun dalam rancangan kelompok pada masing-masing lokasi dan dilanjutkan analisis ragam gabungan. Jumlah genotipe yang digunakan yaitu 30 galur PTB F4 dan 6 varietas pembanding yang diulang 3 kali, sehingga total 108 petak percobaan pada setiap lokasi. Data pengamatan yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam gabungan dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT 5%, serta dilakukan pengamatan suhu dan kelembapan. Hasil penelitian yaitu galur yang memiliki produktivitas di atas 6 ton/ha pada lokasi Rantebua yaitu G10, G27, G13, G16, G7, G6, G18, G14, G26, G24, G29, G8, G23, G22, dan G19 dengan produksi berturut-turut. Galur yang memiliki produktivitas di atas 6 ton/ha pada lokasi Tallunglipu yaitu G10, G13, G6, G27, G16, G8, G26, G24, G7, G18, G15, G14, G30, G23, dan G22.

Abstract

One of the limiting factors in mung bean cultivation is the presence of pest attacks that can attack. Chemical pest control is dangerous for the environment and vegetation so it needs biological control. Based on the results of research, potassium nutrient content is able to maintain plant resistance to pest and disease attacks. The purpose of this study was to test the level of pest attacks on mung bean plants given various doses of goat waste bokashi. The research method used a single factor randomized block design with six treatment levels L0 = No bokashi treatment (Control), L1 = Treatment dose 2.4 kg (6 tons/ha), L2 = Treatment dose 4.8 kg (12 tons/ha), L3 = Treatment dose 7.2 kg (18 tons/ha), L4 = Treatment dose 9.6 kg (24 tons/ha), L5 = Treatment 12 kg (30 tons/ha). Observation variables were the number of perforated leaves, the number of torn leaves, the number of flowers, the number of flowers that successfully formed pods, the number of infected pods and productivity. Observation data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further test LSD 0.05. The research results showed that 7.2 kg (18 tons/ha) of goat waste bokashi was the optimal dosage for increasing plant resistance to pest attacks and achieving optimal yield. The number of flowers formed and the number of flowers that successfully formed pods were positively correlated with increased yield. Keywords: Goat Waste Bokashi, Pests, Mung Beans

Abstract

Kondisi perkampungan yang masih asri yang dipenuhi dengan landskap hutan dan kebun masyarakat di pedalaman Papua yang menyimpan potensi sumber daya alam yang melimpah serta tanah yang subur. Di Distrik Maybrig, Kecamatan Manokwari, Kabupaten Manokwari, Provinsi Papua Barat berada di pada ketinggian 1000 m dpl yang memiliki potensi pengembangan pertanian dataran tinggi, akan tetapi sistem pertanian yang diterapkan masih sangat tradisional dengan sistem ladang berpindah identik masyarakat pedalaman sehingga pertanian yang dihasilkan kurang maksimal. Jika ditinjau dari segi wilayah, di sekitar perkampungan tersedia hutan dan semak belukar yang rindang yang memiliki tingkat serase dan daun-daunan hijau yang sangat melimpah yang potensial menjadi sumber pupuk organik padat dan cair. Sehingga berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik di Kampung tersebut. Hasil sosialiasasi dan pelatihan disambut antusias dan masyarakat berperan secara aktif dalam sosialisasi dan maupun praktek langsung sehingga dapat diadopsi secara baik

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in theArfak Mountains region of West Papua, with the aim of improving the qualityand productivity of sweet potatoes through the implementation of an appropriate harvest handling system. The main problem faced by farmers is the high rate of physical damage to the tubers due to inappropriate harvesting methods, such asthe use of unsuitable tools and methods of lifting the tubers that causeinjuries. This activity was carried out by the outreach team using methods oflectures, field demonstrations, and interactive discussions. The material providedcovered determining the ideal harvest time, safe digging and liftingtechniques, as well as the sorting and grading process for the harvest. The results of the activityshowed an increase in farmers' knowledge and skills inharvest handling, thereby reducing the level of tuber damage and improving the quality ofthe yield. This activity was also followed up with continuous guidance and consultation to ensure the application of the techniques that had been learned. Overall, this program succeeded in increasing farmers' awareness of the importance ofproper harvest handling in maintaining the quality and selling value of sweet potatoes in theArfak Mountains..
