Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Deep Learning approach assisted by an e-performance rubric on the critical thinking skills of tenth-grade vocational high school students in mathematics. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The participants consisted of 40 students from SMK TI Global Jimbaran, divided into two groups: an experimental group that received instruction using the Deep Learning approach supported by a digital performance rubric, and a control group that received conventional teaching, with 20 students in each group. Critical thinking skills were measured using a validated essay test that included indicators of inference, analysis, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation. Data analysis involved normality testing, homogeneity testing, and an Independent Samples t-test. The results revealed that the implementation of the Deep Learning approach assisted by the Authentic Digital Performance Assessment (ADPA) had a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills. Students who received the intervention demonstrated higher learning outcomes compared to those who were taught using conventional methods. These findings emphasize that integrating the Deep Learning approach with digital performance assessment can serve as an effective instructional strategy in vocational education contexts

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen digital media integration and enhance pedagogical competencies among teachers at the Amara Bhawana Sastra Foundation in Bangli, Bali. The program was initiated to address two critical gaps identified through preliminary observations: the absence of a professional institutional website for donor outreach and limited teacher proficiency in utilizing culture-based instructional media. The intervention involved a dual-faceted approach: the development of an official website and intensive training on the "DAKOGI" (Dakon Geometri)—an instructional tool based on traditional games. The training was conducted as an intensive eight-hour workshop with a 100% participation rate from the foundation’s teaching staff. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test instruments to measure competency shifts. Results indicated a significant improvement in teacher proficiency, with the average score rising from 43.3 (Poor Category) to 95.6 (Excellent Category). This improvement is further validated by a normalized gain score of 0.93, signifying high effectiveness. Post-training evaluations showed that 100% of participants mastered the integration of DAKOGI into lesson plans and active learning facilitation, while 95% successfully mastered game-based assessment techniques. This program demonstrates that integrating local cultural wisdom into modern pedagogical tools effectively revitalizes teacher capacity and broadens the institutional reach of social-educational foundations.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) dalam pembelajaran memberikan peluang bagi siswa untuk memperoleh informasi dan mendukung proses belajar secara lebih cepat dan interaktif. Namun, pemanfaatan GenAI di lingkungan sekolah masih menghadapi permasalahan berupa rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun prompt yang efektif serta risiko penggunaan AI yang tidak sesuai dengan etika akademik, seperti plagiarisme dan penyalinan materi tanpa atribusi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memanfaatkan GenAI sebagai asisten pembelajaran secara efektif, kritis, dan bertanggung jawab melalui pelatihan Prompt Engineering serta edukasi literasi digital dan etika penggunaan AI. Mitra kegiatan merupakan siswa SMA dan SMK di Kecamatan Kuta Selatan yang berasal dari SMK Negeri 1 Kuta Selatan, SMA Negeri 2 Kuta Selatan, dan SMK Nusa Dua, dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 90 siswa. Metode pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat terdiri atas tiga tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui hands-on workshop Prompt Engineering, praktik langsung, pendampingan interaktif, serta edukasi mengenai literasi digital dan etika penggunaan GenAI. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest, posttest, dan live quiz berbasis gamifikasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa setelah mengikuti kegiatan, yaitu kemampuan menyusun prompt secara terstruktur meningkat dari 48,33% menjadi 85%, sedangkan pemahaman mengenai etika penggunaan AI dan plagiarisme meningkat dari 46% menjadi 82%. Selain itu, hasil evaluasi melalui live quiz menunjukkan rata-rata nilai peserta sebesar 81,5%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan efektif meningkatkan keterampilan dan pemahaman siswa dalam memanfaatkan GenAI secara kritis dan etis sebagai asisten pembelajaran
