Abstract

Waduk Jatiluhur is in Jatiluhur Subdistrict, Purwakarta Regency, West Java Province. Now Perum Jasa Tirta II as a manager has been developing Waduk Jatiluhur as an integrated tourism area through Tourism Division with the aim of improving development effectiveness. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the main of supporting factors is the beautiful natural panorama, the extent of Waduk Jatiluhur area and the atmosphere of tourism objects that provide comfort for visitors. However, the pattern of land use in Waduk Jatiluhur area that is considered to have supported the tourism activities does not have a zoning system so that the activity of tourism and hydropower activities have not had a clear division of zones. In supporting the development of tourism in Waduk Jatiluhur, zoning area is needed to separate the core activities of the Dam River Basin and Hydroelectric Power Plant with tourism activities or with community ponds to avoid errors in the land use so that the development of tourism can provide maximal contribution.

Abstract

Every activity at a tourist attraction will have risks. This is no exception for special interest tourism, which has a higher risk than other tourism activities. From the perspective of tourists, they tend to avoid destinations with high potential risks, which also affects their decisions. Cikawari Waterfall is one of the natural tourist attractions in the West Bandung Regency area. Planning for tourism activities at these attractions requires further assessment of the planned provision of special interest activities and facilities (rafting). This study aims to determine the feasibility of the special interest tourism plan by considering the safety risks in tourist attractions and the interest of tourists in visiting. This study uses mixed research methods (qualitative and quantitative) with a purposive sampling technique. This study involved interviews with three key tourism managers and a survey of 118 tourists who visited Cikawari Waterfall. The results showed that tourists consider the risk aspect when visiting. The qualitative and quantitative studies also show that Cikawari Waterfall is considered safe enough against the risk of accidents to visit because there are not many rocks, and the current is not too heavy. The location is easily accessible, so tourists are highly interested in visiting Cikawari Waterfall. In addition, the coordination built in the application of crisis management by the two managers strengthens the position of Cikawari Waterfall to be visited so that tourists do not need to feel anxious when visiting.

Abstract

The distribution of tourism potential in Purworejo Regency has been well mapped and must be supported by suitable approach, one of which is the development of river tourism. The actual river tourism activities that have been developed on the Bogowonto River are adventure tourism activities, namely white water rafting. However, the potential of river tourism on Bogowonto River is not only limited for rafting. The development of recreational fishing products on the Bogowonto River can be an opportunity for tourism development in Purworejo Regency. Recreational fishing regarded as a form of tourism activity in accordance with sustainable tourism (Hall, 2019; UNWTO, 2021). This can be seen from the pattern of recreational fishing that does not focus on the number of fish caught, the arrangement of the tools used, as well as the positive impact given to the community on the economic side. The study (Butler et al., 2020) shows that there is a positive contribution of fishing tourism to ecological preservation. From the business side, the Government of Indonesia has regulated fishing tourism businesses (Regulation of the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia No. 19 of 2015 concerning Standards for Fishing Tourism Business, 2015), including business arrangements for providing places and facilities for fishing activities using special equipment and safety equipment including the provision of guide services. This study will identify and analyze recreational fishing tourism products based on packages, fishing equipment, fishing tour guides and supporting facilities in the Bogowonto River Area, Purworejo Regency. The long-term goal of this research is to contribute to the design of recreational fishing products for the development of tourist destinations in Purworejo Regency as a guide for stakeholders regarding the utilization of the Bogowonto River
