Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of psychological capital on the effect of authentic leadership and perceived organisational support on employee organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB). Despite having at least one year of experience in the private sector, employees display OCB that does not align with the organisation's expectations. The evolving nature of work suggests that simply assessing employees' relationships with the organisation may not be sufficient. Instead, employees' relationships with supervisors and perceived organisational support should be a consideration. Additionally, employees must possess a strong intrinsic motivation to tackle work-related challenges effectively. This study employed the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) method and included 275 permanent employees from the private sector. Data was collected using Google Forms, and the analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4 software. The findings indicate that psychological capital mediates the relationship between authentic leadership, perceived organisational support, and OCB. This study implies that organisations can cultivate a workplace environment that nurtures psychological capital, strengthens authentic leadership, and enhances perceived organisational support. Consequently, employees will be more likely to exhibit OCB that aligns with organisational expectations, leading to improved overall performance and workplace harmony.

Abstract

- This study aims to examine the extent to which safety motivation mediates the influence of full range leadership and safety climate on safety performance within the coal mining industry in Indonesia.A quantitative method was employed using cross-sectional and one-shot data techniques through a structured questionnaire distributed via Google Form. Data were processed using AMOS 23 and SPSS 26 software.Safety motivation fully mediates the influence of transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership on safety performance. Safety motivation partially mediates the influence of safety climate on safety performance. Limitations and Recommendations – Future researchers may consider involving employees from other mining sectors such as nickel, sand, and gold or another industry. Respondents should also include individuals beyond staff-level positions. Originality/Value – This study investigates the influence of full range leadership and safety climate on safety performance, with safety motivation as a mediator. It presents a novel contribution by not merely replicating previous studies. Moreover, it incorporates both leadership style and safety climate in analyzing safety performance. The object of this study is the coal mining industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Previous studies on older widows have focused on the negative aspects of spousal loss, such as loneliness, anxiety, and depression, positioning them as vulnerable groups. This perspective tends to overlook the potential of older widows in achieving successful aging. This study aimed to map the concepts within the scope of positive psychology that have been applied in research on older widows, and to explore how these approaches can support healthy and successful aging. A literature search was conducted on Google Scholar, covering publications from 2016 to 2025. A total of 9,480 articles were identified and screened based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. After reviewing abstracts and full texts, eight articles were included in this scoping review. There is a consistent pattern: older widows can achieve successful aging through positive psychology and spirituality. However, several contradictions between concepts were found, particularly regarding the sources of emotional resilience, between external social support and internal spiritual strength. Views on the meaning of life also vary, rooted in past achievements and acceptance of painful experiences and present hopes. Adaptation is described through both active (autoplastic adaptation) and passive (surrender to fate) approaches. Optimism is often considered a universal strength, but it has not been widely studied in the context of the socioeconomic limitations faced by older widows. The integration of intrapersonal aspects, e.g., resilience, meaning in life, well-being, and optimism, along with social and spiritual dimensions, including social support and spirituality, contributes to helping older widows achieve successful aging.
