Abstract

The management of incoming and outgoing mail at the Public Welfare Bureau of the North Sumatra Provincial Secretariat is currently done manually by recording it in an agenda book. Mail distribution is also done directly, and mail archiving is collected in one place, which often causes various problems, such as delays in mail distribution, difficulties in finding mail, and the risk of losing important mail. This study aims to design and develop a web-based document management system to support more efficient, faster, and secure administrative processes. The system development method used is the waterfall model. The system is built using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. System testing results indicate that it can simplify the processes of recording, searching, distributing, and reporting incoming and outgoing documents through faster digitalization. With the implementation of this system, it is hoped that the Social Welfare Bureau of the Provincial Government of North Sumatra can manage letters more effectively and efficiently, thereby supporting the central government's digital transformation program

Abstract

Toddlerhood is a critical period in a child’s growth and development that significantly affects future health and cognitive outcomes. Adequate nutritional intake during this stage is essential to prevent growth disorders, particularly stunting. The Indonesian government has implemented various intervention programs, including the Supplementary Feeding Program (Pemberian Makanan Tambahan/PMT), to improve toddlers’ nutritional status and reduce stunting, especially in areas with high nutritional challenges. In Karang Rejo Village, the PMT program is actively implemented through community health posts (posyandu). However, the management of PMT data, including beneficiary records, monitoring of weight and height, and feeding schedules, is still conducted manually. This manual approach leads to data inaccuracies, difficulties in tracking historical records, potential data loss, and delays in reporting. In addition, the lack of integrated data hinders health workers and cadres from conducting effective and regular monitoring, which may impact the accuracy of nutritional interventions for toddlers at risk of stunting. To address these issues, this study proposes the development of a web-based monitoring system for the PMT program. The system is designed to facilitate structured data recording, periodic monitoring of toddlers’ nutritional status, and real-time reporting accessible to authorized users. The implementation of this system is expected to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of PMT services, support timely decision-making, and contribute to government efforts in reducing stunting rates and improving the overall health status of toddlers in Karang Rejo Village.

Abstract

Beauty salons are service businesses that require precise management of service schedules and product stocks to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction. Manual reservation and stock management has the potential to cause recording errors, schedule conflicts, and product inventory discrepancies. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a web-based Harni Salon Reservation and Stock Information System. The research methods used include system requirements analysis, system design using modeling diagrams, PHP and MySQL-based system implementation, and functional testing using the black box testing method. The results of the study indicate that the system is able to manage customer data, services, reservations, and product stocks in an integrated manner and displays reservation and inventory report information well. This system also allows customers to make service reservations independently based on available schedules, while the admin can confirm reservations and monitor product stocks in real-time. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of a web-based information system can improve operational efficiency and service quality at Harni Salon. The benefits of this study are expected to be a reservation and stock management solution for salon businesses and become a reference for the development of similar systems in the future.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has encouraged its application in various fields, including education. One of the most important administrative activities in schools is the student attendance process. However, attendance systems that are still conducted manually have several weaknesses, such as the risk of data manipulation, slow recap processes, and low efficiency in monitoring student attendance. Therefore, a more modern, effective, and accurate attendance system is needed. This study aims to design an interactive digital attendance system using barcode scanning technology and WhatsApp notifications at Dwiwarna Private Vocational High School, Medan. The system allows students to record their attendance quickly by scanning a unique barcode and provides real-time attendance information to parents or guardians through WhatsApp notifications. The system development method used in this research is Rapid Application Development (RAD), which emphasizes fast development, prototype-based processes, and active user involvement at every stage. The result of this study is a web-based attendance system that is able to improve the efficiency of attendance recording, minimize errors and fraud, and strengthen communication between the school and students’ parents. With the implementation of this system, it is expected that student attendance data management at Dwiwarna Private Vocational High School, Medan can be carried out more optimally, transparently, and accurately.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly influenced the education sector, particularly in the management of new student admissions. Many schools still rely on manual registration processes that are time-consuming, prone to data entry errors, and inefficient in managing applicant data. Penraujan Private Junior High School is one of the institutions that continues to use a conventional registration system, resulting in administrative difficulties, especially during periods of increased enrollment. This study aims to develop a web-based new student admission system to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of the registration process. The system enables prospective students to register online at any time and assists the school in managing, storing, and generating registration data and reports more effectively. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method is applied in this research due to its emphasis on fast and iterative system development while accommodating user needs. The results of this study indicate that the proposed web-based admission system is able to streamline the registration process, reduce data input errors, and enhance the quality of administrative services at Penraujan Private Junior High School. This system also provides convenience for prospective students by allowing online registration without the need to visit the school directly.

Abstract

Child-friendly educational tourism is a form of tourism that provides not only entertainment but also educational value to support children’s development. However, selecting appropriate educational tourism destinations often becomes a challenge for parents and schools due to the need to consider multiple criteria, such as safety, facilities, accessibility, and educational value. Limited integrated information and difficulties in comparing available alternatives further complicate the decision-making process. This study aims to design and develop a web-based recommendation system for child-friendly educational tourism using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The TOPSIS method is applied to generate objective and measurable recommendations based on predetermined criteria. The developed system is expected to assist parents and schools in selecting safe, comfortable, and educational tourism destinations that meet children’s needs, thereby improving the effectiveness and accuracy of the decision-making process.

Abstract

The process of car sales, especially credit-based transactions, requires accurate data management and precise installment calculations to support customer decision-making. Gocah Garage, as a car showroom that provides both cash and credit sales services, still performs installment simulations manually using calculators and spreadsheet applications, which is time-consuming and prone to calculation errors. This study aims to develop a web-based car sales application that implements the Flat Rate method to calculate credit installments accurately and efficiently. The research method used is a software development method with the Waterfall model, which includes requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The application is developed using HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL as the database. The results show that the developed system is able to manage car data, customer data, and sales transactions effectively, as well as automatically calculate monthly installments using the Flat Rate method. The application helps reduce calculation errors, speeds up the sales process, and improves service quality at Gocah Garage.

Abstract

The development of information technology is encouraging businesses to shift from manual to digital systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data management. Tokoh Andi Elektrik, which sells electrical equipment, still records transactions, inventory, and financial reports manually, potentially leading to recording errors, reporting delays, and the risk of data loss. This research aims to design and build a web-based cashier and financial reporting system capable of managing sales transactions, product data, inventory, catalogs, and generating financial reports automatically and in a structured manner. The system development method used is the Waterfall method, which includes requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was developed using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and implemented in a localhost environment. The results show that the system can improve transaction process efficiency, simplify inventory management, and produce faster, more accurate, and more secure financial reports. With this system, it is hoped that Tokoh Andi Elektrik's operational management will be more effective and support optimal business decision-making.
