Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the best combination of  anorganic fertilizers, organic and mulch on onion Lembah Palu varieties growth and yield. This study used a randomized block design. The treatment were anorganic fertilizer, organic and mulch consisting of 7 combinations. Each treatment consisted of 4 groups so that there were 28 experiments units. Application of anorganic fertilizers, organic and rice straw mulch showed no effect on plant growth parameter such as plant heigt and number of leaves. The highest plant fresh weight were in the treatment of organic fertilizer and rice straw mulch (65.89 g), the highest number of tubers in the treatment of anorganic fertilizers, organic and rice straw mulch (8:15 g), the highest leaf weight in treatment of organic fertilizer and rice straw mulch (33.39 g), the highest root weight on anorganic fertilizer treatment (4.91 g) and the highest weight of tubers in the treatment of anorganic fertilizers, organic and rice straw mulch (29.57 g) . Key Words : Anorganic fertilizer, Onion, organic, rice straw mulch.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of Effective Microorganisms-4 (EM-4) concentrations and its application frequency and their interactions on growth and yield of green mustard plant. The experiment was conducted from November 2014 until January 2015 at Mantikulore Sub District, Palu, at an altitude about ± 50 m above sea level. This research was carried out using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the concentration of EM-4 (A) with 3 (three) levels : K1 (0,5 %), K2 (1,0 %) and K3 (1,5 %), and the second factor was the application frequency of EM-4 also with 3 (three) levels : A1 (1 time; 1 week after planting-WAP), A2 (3 times; 1, 3, and 5 WAP) and A3 (5 times; 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 WAP). The experimental data were analyzed using analysis of variance method followed by HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) Test at 5%. The results of the research showed that the application of various concentrations of EM-4 had a significant effect on plant height (cm) at age 4, 5, and 6 WAP, number of leaves at age 5 WAP, root fresh weight (g, and gave a very significant effect to root dry weight (g). The application frequency of EM-4 gave an effect to plant height at age 5 WAP, number of leaves at age 5 and 6 WAP, and root length (cm). Whereas the interaction between both factors only had a significant effect on number of leaves at the age of 5 WAP.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Bulupountu Dusun Jaya, District Sigi Biromaru, Sigi in June to October 2015. This study was conducted to compare the effect of various mulch types (organic and inorganic) on the growth and yield of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). This study uses a randomized block design consisted of five treatments, A0 = without mulch, A1= black plastic mulch, A2=silver plastic mulch, A3 = johar leaf mulch, A4 = rice straw mulch. Each treatment was repeated five times so that there are 25 experimental units. Mulching can increase growth and yield of tomato plants. Type silver plastic mulch provides the best growth and yield of tomato plants, especially on fruit weight parameters. Key Words: Growth, Mulch, tomato plants.

Abstract

The research was conducted at Bulu Pounto Jaya, Biromaru sub District, Sigi District, Central Sulawesi Province from August to November 2014. This research aimed to determine the effect of mulch and liquid organic fertilizer types on growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) Lembah Palu varieties. The design used in this research was a two factorial randomized block design (RAK).  The first factor was application of mulch (M) i.e. M0 = no mulching, M1 = silver black plastic mulching, M2 = rice straw mulch and the second factor was the application of liquid organic fertilizer i.e. F1 = once application (7 days after planting-WAP), F2 = twice applications (7, 14 DAP), F3 = thrice applications (7, 14, 21 DAP). Therefore, there were nine combinations of treatments and replicated three times. The results showed that the type of mulch (M) affected significantly the components of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, plant fresh weight, and tuber fresh weight. The liquid organic fertilizer treatment (F) had a significant effect on the components of leaf area and plant fresh weight. The rice straw mulch (M2) produced higher growth than the silver black plastic mulch (M1) and without mulch (M0). While the liquid organic fertilizer applied three times (F3) produced higher yield than the other applications. There was significant interaction effect between the two factors on leaf area components.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the Village Bulupountu Jaya, Sigi Biromaru Sub-District, Sigi District starting September to December 2014. The study was carried out to study and determine the effect of the percentage of shading on the growth and yield of tomato plants as well as a shading that is most appropriate percentage for the growth and yield of tomato plants. This research was conducted by using a randomized block design (RBD) with the percentage of shading consists of 6 level treatments, N0 = no shading,  N1 = 10% shade, N2 = 20% shade, shade N3 = 30%, N4 = 40 shade, shade N5 = 50%. Each treatment was repeated three times so that there are 18 experimental units. The results showed that the various shading percentages significant effect on the plant height, number of leaves, the emergence of flower, fruit number and fruit weight of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill). The best growth and yield of tomato were treater with 30 % shade.
