Abstract

Gastric pain is a symptom felt as heartburn caused by inflammation of the gastric mucosa. Electroacupuncture and moxibustion therapy are therapeutic methods that have significant results in reducing gastric pain. This study aimed to determine the effect and difference of electroacupuncture therapy ST 36, ST 25, ST 21, CV 12 with electroacupuncture at points ST 36, ST 25, ST 21, CV 12 and CV 8 moxibustion on cases of gastric pain in Kutoharjo Village. Quasi-experimental research with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. A sample of 30 subjects was divided into 2 groups given electro-acupuncture therapy and electroacupuncture therapy combined with moxibustion. Pain scale was measured using Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) before and after intervention. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon tests. The results showed a significant decrease in the NRS pain scale after intervention in both groups (p<0.050). The Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.009), with the electroacupuncture group with CV 8 moxibustion showing a more significant reduction in pain than the electroacupuncture group. Wilcoxon test showed a significant reduction in pain scale in both groups (p<0.001). This study shows that electroacupuncture with CV 8 moxibustion is more effective than electroacupuncture in reducing the gastric pain scale. These results show a significant value, which can be taken into consideration to reduce gastric pain.

This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest design. This study used 30 samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, which were divided into 15 people per group. The first group of acupuncture therapy, the second group of acupuncture therapy, and ear apex bloodletting. Mann-Whitney test results showed sig. <0050 in the acupuncture and bloodletting therapy group on systolic blood pressure. Wilcoxon test results show both groups get sig results. <0.05, which indicates that there is an effect on blood pressure from group I and II treatments. In conclusion, acupuncture and ear apex bloodletting are more effective in reducing systolic blood pressure

Abstract

Hypertension is high blood pressure with systolic values above 140 mmHg and diastolic values above 90 mmHg. Acupuncture therapy with a combination of rosella tea steeping is a nonpharmacological treatment that has been shown to have an effect in lowering blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of acupuncture therapy with a combination of Rosella tea steeping on changes in blood pressure in cases of hypertension in Krajan Hamlet, Mojosongo. This study used a "Quasi-Experimental Design" research design with a nonequivalent control group design method. The number of research subjects was 32 people with a purposive sampling technique, which was divided into a control group (consumption of rosella tea brew) and an experimental group (acupuncture combination of rosella tea brew). The results of the Mann-Whitney test obtained a significance value of p<0.001, so Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. In conclusion, acupuncture therapy with a combination of rosella tea brewing shows significant results in reducing blood pressure in cases of hypertension in Krajan Hamlet, Mojosongo.
