Abstract

As the backbone of the national economy which is still struggling with the financing problem, prior studies on the intention to use Islamic FinTech for MSMEs are still rare. This study aims to examine whether both the religiosity (R) and product knowledge (PK) on Islamic FinTech products and services affect the intention to adopt it or not. A total of 100 responses were collected using an online questionnaire and then examined using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that subjective norm (SN), perceived usefulness (PU), as well as R, and PK significantly influence the intention to get financing and use the services offered. It is indicated that Indonesian MSMEs actors are getting aware and knowledgeable about sharia compliance of FinTech products. Likewise, the influence of social norms such as religious leaders and or the business environment also strengthens the intention. This means that there is a need for continuous efforts from the stakeholders by cooperating with sharia scholars in improving the Islamic financial literacy in order to eliminate the doubts on the practical side. This needs to be followed by strengthening consumer data protection as well as providing incentives in order to enlarge the industrial market share.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service project is to train kindergarten teachers who belong to the Abimanyu and Banowati groups in waste sorting. The Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach is used to carry out community service. Using this approach, kindergarten teachers and researchers work together to teach kids how to sort waste. Since waste sorting is a novel approach to waste management, it needs to be promoted and established in society, particularly among students. Most of the kindergarten teachers who took part in the program had never instructed their kids in waste sorting. Teachers of kindergarten received instruction on how to segregate waste in bins with red, yellow, and green lids. Kindergarten teachers can more easily teach sorting bins with colored lids to their kids. By imparting good values linked to teaching discipline, upholding cleanliness, and recognizing the health of their pupils, waste sorting training helps kindergarten teachers understand the significance of waste sorting.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to propose an innovative integrated financing model at the microfinance level for the agricultural sector and how to mitigate the risk associated with the model. In the study, we perform in-depth interviews of experts and gather secondary data from relevant sources. The proposed model is called Salam-Muzara’ah Linked Waqf (SMW) as a sharia-compliant scheme that integrates Islamic commercial finance through the salam and muzara’ah contract with Islamic social finance through the utilization of cash waqf return as well as using the idle waqf land as agricultural lands to be implemented by Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT). In the model, the risk of commodities delivered by farmers to BMT is subsidized or borrowed by Nazhir of waqf land while the surplus of cash waqf is distributed to cover Murabaha margin of necessary agricultural equipment purchased from BMT. This research is expected to solve the problem of limited land and financing as well as to create innovation and inclusiveness of Islamic financial products through the synergy of all parties in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

Diversification of investment in hajj funds is also needed in the real sector to optimize the portfolio and sustainable development of hajj finance. This study analyzes the potential for direct investment in the supply of raw materials to meet the needs of catering and processed food by the Indonesian Hajj Fund Management Agency in Saudi Arabia’s food industry. This research utilized a qualitative approach and used data and regulations from authorities and regulators in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. All available data is used to design direct investment models using contracts complying with ethical and fair investment principles. The results depicted two alternative investment schemes: executing a joint venture or establishing a subsidiary. Murabaha and parallel salam can carry out the business contract schemes. Using the murabaha scheme, the risk of fluctuations in exchange rates and commodities can be controlled by setting the margins. Meanwhile, salam contracts are explicitly made for orders obtained from local suppliers to avoid the risk of exchange rate fluctuations. This research is limited to the condition of hajj financial management in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. However, this research is expected to improve the literature on the management of hajj finance and provide an alternative way for innovative and sustainable direct investment performed by the Indonesian Hajj Financial Management Agency.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an innovative financing model and sustainable business assistance through the mudharabah linked waqf scheme. The method used is descriptive qualitative in the form of reviewing scientific journals, books, official news, reports and related regulations which are analyzed by content analysis. Mudharabah linked waqf is an innovation and integration of financing to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) where the composition of the source of funds comes from commercial funds and cash waqf funds managed by Koperasi Syirkah Berkah Bersama (KSBB) through a collaboration with Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (KPMI) chapter Surabaya. Funds will be channeled to low-risk MSME projects recommended by KPMI Surabaya with duration of fewer than six months. The surplus of cash waqf will be distributed to social, education, economy and da’wah activites in the form of sustainable business development and fiqh muamalah assistance by KPMI Surabaya and the rest distributed as an incentive to reduce murabahah margins for startups. Risk mitigation is carried out through collateral requirements, guarantor, incentive-compatible contract applications to determine cash flows and related parties in the project, as well as post-project financial audits. This model has implications for strengthening the roles of KSBB and KPMI Surabaya in encouraging literacy, inclusion, and innovation in deepening sustainable Islamic financial products, in order to strengthen the economy of ummah in the real sector.
