Abstract

At the end of 2019, the world was shocked by the massive attacking corona virus known as COVID-19. The disease is caused by this virus in a seafood market in Wuhan and has spread to 65 countries. This sharp increase in cases requires preventive efforts that must be carried out by all parties. The spread of this virus can be reduced by using masks and hand sanitizer. Public transportation is a potential place for virus transmission because it comes into contact with large crowds. Community service is carried out as an effort to increase the awareness of public transportation users passing through the check points of the Al-Muna Mosque in Cilawu District to use hand sanitizers and masks as a preventive effort against COVID-19. The result of community service was the achievement of donations of masks and hand sanitizer along with one-by-one educational presentation regarding the prevention of transmission of COVD 19 to vehicle users, both private and public vehicles. Community service has achieved the target, namely the provision of masks and hand sanitisers along with understanding the use and socialization of prevention of COVID-19 to at least 100 people. Abstract

The culture medium functions to provide nutrition and as a place for microorganisms to grow optimally. The price of agar media is expensive and quite difficult to reach, making examination of microorganisms in the laboratory expensive. This can be overcome by using alternative media that are easy to obtain. One example of a natural ingredient that can be used as an alternative medium is jackfruit seeds which are then processed into flour. Jackfruit seeds can be used as an alternative ingredient because they contain nutrients, namely carbohydrates. The aim of this research was to see the effectiveness of jackfruit seed flour for the growth of the Aspergillus niger fungus. The type of research used is descriptive by describing the growth of the Aspergillus niger fungus on alternative agar media, namely jackfruit seed flour. . After data collection, the data is then processed using a tabulating stage which is presented in table form by showing the growth of the Aspergillus niger fungus macroscopically and microscopically using 10x and 40x magnification which is then grouped based on positive and negative categories.

To increase knowledge related to drug tests and false positive detection, health education is carried out and also a demonstration of drug tests on urine. Before and after education, each student takes a pre-test and post-test through a questionnaire to see the increase in their knowledge. After community service was carried out, with education about drug tests, there was an increase in understanding about drug tests, the drug test process with immunochromatography (ICT) and the detection of false positive results in drug tests.

Education is carried out by presenting material related to TB disease. Apart from that, students were also shown a video on how to carry out a TB examination using BTA (Acid Fast Bacteria) staining and TCM (Rapid Molecular Test). Before and after education, each student received a questionnaire designed to measure their level of knowledge. After community service, education about TB disease among high school students resulted in an increased understanding of TB symptoms, transmission, prevention, treatment and examination.

Abstract

Abstract

The national blood demand is estimated to reach around 5.5 million bags per year, while the available blood supply is only around 4.1 million bags. This results in a significant annual blood shortage, approximately 1.4 million bags. The root cause of the main problem of unmet blood needs lies in the lack of public awareness. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase public education and awareness about the importance of blood donation and the high demand for blood. Activities include counseling and blood type testing of the ABO and Rh systems using the slide test method. The examination results show that the most common blood type found in Lampegan Village is type O, while the least common is type B. Almost all of them have Rh-positive blood type, and Rh-negative was found in one resident. Knowing the exact blood type and adopting a healthy lifestyle can help someone become a blood donor. Blood type testing is a persuasive strategy to raise public awareness about the importance of blood types and the benefits of blood donation.
