Abstract

The global industry has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly small and medium-sized businesses, which has a negative effect on organizational performance, planning, control, and systems. This causes small and medium-sized businesses to take certain actions relating to the use of accounting information systems for their own benefit, which can impact the performance of SMEs that are influenced by environmental and organizational factors. This study seeks empirical evidence of the effect of accounting knowledge, business experience, and business strategy on the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as mediated by accounting information systems. Utilizing primary data sources, survey data collection techniques, and research samples comprised of SME owners and managers, an explanatory causality approach is utilized. Using a simple random sampling technique, individual units of analysis, a one-shot study time horizon, and path analysis, the data were evaluated. In addition, the results demonstrated that accounting expertise and business experience positively affect accounting information systems. This study also revealed a positive relationship between accounting knowledge and SME performance. SME performance is negatively affected by business experience. In addition, the accounting information system as mediator demonstrates that SME performance increases as a result of business experience.

Abstract

Despite the proven potential of e-commerce in generating business competitiveness and performance, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) adopting that particular technology in developing countries such as Indonesia remains relatively low. It is critical to evaluate the obstacles, expose them, and find a way to overcome the issue, especially as the recent global pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted this sector to a great extent. The impact of COVID-19 on Indonesian SMEs and how they are dealing with it are highlighted in this paper, which is quite scarce and insufficient to cover the gap. Using a survey of 278 SME owners and/or managers in Indonesia, our study aims to explore the influence of technological, individual, organizational, and environmental factors on SMEs' adoption of e-commerce and business performance. We use PLS to explore the relationships proposed in our framework model. The results of this study revealed that technological, individual, organizational, and environmental factors positively affect the adoption of e-commerce. The findings also confirmed that technological, organizational, and environmental factors are the determinant factors that affect Indonesian SMEs' performance. Interestingly, the study did not prove the direct effect of individual characteristics on performance. It indicates that the performances and innovativeness of SMEs within our study are more rooted in their organizational setting rather than individual.

Abstract

The low export performance of SMEs in Indonesia is a significant problem in supporting national economic growth because SMEs are often less able to take advantage of international market opportunities compared to large companies. One of the critical determinants of SME exports is networking and partnership relationships. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach to analyze the role of networking and partnerships in supporting SME exporters entering the international market. The study was conducted through a survey of 67 SME exporters in East Java who are members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, using a questionnaire as a data collection instrument. The results of the study indicate that SME exporters face various obstacles in marketing, human resources, finance, access to information, and the business environment. However, networking and partnerships have been proven to support their export activities. Strategic partners who play a role include government agencies, business partners, business associations, chambers of commerce, state-owned and private companies, universities, and support from family. This support includes information on international market data, business opportunities, potential analysis, access to capital, promotion, and competitive strategies in the global market. These findings indicate that SMEs that build good networks and partnerships can overcome various obstacles and challenges and gain significant benefits from entering the international market.

Abstract

This research uses the sustained time restriction as a tool for professional skepticism and looks at how auditor independence and competence affect auditing. SEM AMOS analysis and a survey of 113 auditors in Malang Raya revealed that autonomous work and auditor competence had a substantial influence on skepticism. Better auditing was accomplished, nevertheless. The continuum between competent performance and audit quality is preserved by professional skepticism. The quality and skepticism of audits are not significantly impacted by time constraints. The findings imply that extrinsic limitations like time limits are less significant than the auditor's inner qualities, such as competence, proficiency, and skepticism. The investigation of audit practice illumination, auditor skepticism clarification, and profitability skepticism is still on going.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of E-Service Quality and Brand Image on Customer Loyalty among QRIS ShopeePay users, with E-Trust as a mediating variable, among Generation Z in Malang City. The hypotheses proposed include direct and indirect effects among the variables in the research model. This study employs a quantitative approach using an explanatory-causal research design. Data were collected via an online questionnaire distributed to 119 respondents Generation Z users of ShopeePay QRIS in Malang City using a non-probability sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method via SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the study indicate that E-Service Quality and Brand Image have a positive and significant effect on Customer Loyalty, and E-Service Quality also has a positive and significant effect on E-Trust. Meanwhile, Brand Image does not have a significant effect on E-Trust. E-Trust was found to have a positive and significant effect on Customer Loyalty and significantly mediates the effect of E-Service Quality on Loyalty; however, it does not mediate the effect of Brand Image on Loyalty. These findings indicate that service quality and trust are key factors in shaping user loyalty, particularly among Generation Z, who prioritize user experience over brand perception. The implications of this study suggest that digital service providers, particularly ShopeePay, need to focus their strategies on improving service quality, system security, and user experience to strengthen customer trust and loyalty. Further research is recommended to include additional variables, expand the scope of the study, and employ a more diverse methodological approach to obtain more comprehensive results.
