Abstract

ABSTRACTIntroduction: The rapid development of technology encourages learning methods that are more practical, efficient, and fast. E-learning is believed to be an effective learning method for nurses in the hospital environment. The e-learning module requires adequate facilities and positive learner characteristics. Understanding nurses' needs and learning perspectives will facilitate e-learning implementation, especially for continuing nursing education. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between experiences and the importance of e-learning, barriers, motivation, and nurses' attitudes towards the e-learning method in a private hospital. Methods: This study applied a quantitative method with a correlation design and conducted a purposive sampling technique with 66 samples. This study used an attitude questionnaire towards e-learning which was adapted from Chong. Results: This study revealed that most of the nurses already had experienced e-learning (98.5%). In addition, half of the nurses had positive attitudes towards e-learning (53%), almost two-thirds of nurses were motivated (74.2%), more than half perceived that e-learning is less critical (51.5%), and nurses reported a few obstacles to participating in e-learning (57.6%). Moreover, there was no significant relationship between experience, barriers, motivation, the importance of e-learning, and nurses' attitudes towards e-learning (p value 0.05). On the other hand, nurses also reported the main barriers to participating in e-learning included lack of time and minimum computer access to the internet ( 70%). Discussion: It is noted that nurses have the motivation to continue learning in the scope of clinical practice using e-learning. Only some nurses show a positive attitude towards e-learning. Thus, some improvements are needed to support e-learning for nurses, such as more time for learning, additional knowledge about computer use, and adequate internet networking.ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat mendorong metode pembelajaran yang lebih praktis, efisien dan cepat.

Abstract

Introduction: Consuming a minimum of 400 g of fruits and vegetables (FV) daily fulfills nutritional needs and diminishes the possibility of getting specific non-communicable diseases. In low or middle-income countries, about 80% of people consume fruits and vegetables below the WHO's recommendations, including Indonesia, where 93.6% of the population does so. In Indonesia, the annual per capita consumption of FV is only 35 kg; however, in Maluku, it is far lower at 7.78 kg per capita annually, below the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)’s objective of 75 kg per year. Aims: This study aims to identify the determinants that impact family behavior regarding FV consumption. Methods: This study took a cross-sectional approach. The purposive sampling chose a total of 398 families. The study employed a questionnaire that has passed validity and reliability tests, with Cronbach alpha >0.8. Results: The findings revealed that 192 (48%) respondents had enough knowledge, 253 (63.2%) had good access to fruits and vegetables, and 198 (49.5%) demonstrated good behavior. Furthermore, the chi-square test revealed that knowledge and family consumption of fruits and vegetables are correlated (p-value 0.001) as well as between FV availability and family consumption behavior (p-value 0.036). Conclusions: The study's findings serve as a road map for local governments, health institutions, and related parties seeking to ensure the availability of fruits and vegetables to meet the community's consumption demands. It also focuses on family-centered education to enhance FV consumption behavior.

Abstract

The implementation of tuberculosis preventive therapy began in 2016 by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. However, until now, research related to health cadres' knowledge of tuberculosis preventive therapy is still limited. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of knowledge of health cadres regarding the implementation of tuberculosis preventive therapy and analyze each item using the Rasch model. This study is a descriptive quantitative study and was conducted in April 2023. The subjects of the study were 74 community health workers at the Binong Health Center, Tangerang Regency, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Knowledge was measured by filling out a questionnaire from WHO and the Indonesian Ministry of Health. Data were analyzed using descriptive research based on Rasch with Winstep. The Rasch model was used to analyze validity and reliability (items and respondents) and to evaluate the level of difficulty of the questions. The results showed that the knowledge of health cadres regarding the implementation of tuberculosis preventive therapy was in the high category (98.6%). Health cadres still havd a high level of response errors regarding the implementation of tuberculosis preventive therapy in children (85.1%), tuberculosis transmission media (20.3%), and side effects of Rifampicin (13.5%). The Rasch model showed that the person reliability was 0.00 (very poor), the item reliability was 0.93 (very good), and there were 2 items that meet the three criteria (Outfit mean square, outfit Z-standard, and Point measure correlation). This study concluded that although the correct response description mostly gives good results, when the Rasch modeling analysis is applied, the person's reliability results are poor. This study has the lowest person reliability and person separation indicating that there are not enough cadres to distinguish between those with higher and lower abilities. Keywords: Rasch analysis; health cadres; knowledge, tuberculosis prevention therapy ABSTRAK Implementasi terapi pencegahan tuberkulosis dimulai pada tahun 2016 oleh Kementerian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is a silent killer that can result in stroke, kidney failure, heart failure, chronic disability, and death. An unhealthy lifestyle becomes a significant risk factor for hypertension. Lifestyle modifications such as salt limitation, stop smoking, decreased alcohol intake, stress management, and weight control are crucial in controlling hypertension. The Study aims to determine the lifestyle of hypertensive patients in managing hypertension and the factors related to it. A cross-sectional study was conducted. Purposive sampling yielded a sample of 30 persons. Patients having a history of hypertension, using hypertension medication, and aged 30-45 years were eligible. An online questionnaire that had passed validity and reliability tests was used to collect data. Univariate and bivariate analyses are used. The study findings revealed that 43.3% of respondents have a bad lifestyle and 56.7% have a healthy lifestyle when it comes to regulating hypertension. The majority of respondents were fe2male (63.3%), worked (96.7%), married (83.3%), had a moderate education (70%), less than 43 years old (60%), had normal body weight (60%), had hypertension for less than 5 years (90%), and had uncontrolled blood pressure (66.7%). Furthermore, education level and body weight were found to be associated with lifestyle in controlling hypertension, although gender, age, working status, marital status, duration of hypertension, and blood pressure were not. Lifestyle modifications can be emphasized in hypertension control programs by raising hypertensive patients' awareness.  Keywords: Lifestyle, Hypertension, Risk Factors
